This video explains
B Trees and B+ Trees and how they are used in databases.
Insertion, Deletion and Analysis will be covered in next video.
Each node of a B+ Tree is a block on Disk. The degree of a Tree is decided based number of keys and child pointers that can fit inside a block.

As a 5th year Computer Science student, I've watched hundreds of tutorials. This is the first time I'm commenting an a video. I'm blown away of your way of explaining topics from start to finish. This didn't feel like a lecture at all. I was actually having FUN while watching your video and learning about indexing etc. Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication! You are a true talent. Not many have the "gift" of being that good in teaching other people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Hello Sir, This is Shahid, BE (Comp Sci) from BITS Pilani, worked with Yahoo! & Oracle. I would like to thank you for taking out time and posting these educational videos. You are really a great teacher. After going through a lot of videos on Data Structures (on RU-vid) including MIT OpenCourseWare, when I came across your channel, I recalled my days in FIITJEE. The teachers at FIITJEE are expert in PCM. You are equally expert teacher of Computer Science. I have not found a single video here which explains Comp Sci topics in such depth with such simplicity yet logical. Your approach is simply amazing. Looking for more such videos. Kudos !!!

He is unequivocally one of the best teachers I've ever seen. His teaching skills can be considered as a benchmark in computing fundamentals. Whenever he explains something, he takes as step by step approach. For instance, in this video, he explained why we need to have a multi-level tree, m-way trees, and then b-trees, etc. If we study in this way, it's easy to remember things, as we can always go back in mind and recall why this thing was created. Also, I loved the pace at which he explains, not too slow or fast. He makes sure to re-iterate important things. In short, I am truly impressed by his skills. Thanks a lot, sir 😀

Thank you for the explanation from the bottom up! This kind of thoroughness is exactly how I learn best. At the beginning you said something like, "If you understand these topics, you'll never forget B-Trees" and you were completely correct. I have such a thorough understanding now that they seem almost intuitive. Great video. I would love to see a video continuing onto deletion and analysis.
