Brad Shaw:"I fixed Jamie Drysdale. Those dopes in Anaheim didn't know what they were doing" Drysdale since joining the Flyers 30 games 3 goals, 3 assists, -27 Awesome!
At this point Zamula and Drysdale need a trip to the AHL…..best thing would be to go out and get two above average defenders which would help the forwards….Also time to give up on playing 7 4th line guys in one game…tonight’s lines were a disaster….id rather lose with the kids playing together and add some excitement
Torts seems flat almost. Like he realizes the team just isn't good and there isn't much he can do about it. Not sure. I didn't like his scratches and line combo's in the game BUT I'm not an elite NHL coach and he is so I will continue to trust him. LOVE my Flyers and hope the get out of this funk and win some games !
Yeah, he looks rather detached here for some reason. "The players play for Their fans..." compared to "We're here!" at one point at the end of last season.
Back during training camp I heard Torts and Briere say that they weren't going after any FA's because they don't have the money to sign anyone. The answer to that is trade some of the costly players on the roster who are contributing more to the salary cap than on the ice. Addition through subtraction. It can be done, should be done, but will it happen? I doubt it. In the meantime we Flyers fans are told to wait this out and show some patience. Our patience is stretched so thin that it's invisible, that is why there are so many people complaining about the same old, same old routine. I like Sean Couturier as a person, but I still think his best playing days are behind him. Is it time to cut ties with Coots? I think so, I thought that during the off-season as well.
They are absolutely terrible. What "structure"? I see zero structure. They don't even look like a team. Just a bunch of individual players flinging the puck around hoping someone else will do something. Always looking pass instead of shooting. And the d is awful. Not helping their barely existent goaltending. It's early. But frustrating and down right sad to watch.
Barely existent goaltending ??????? Errson has been by far, NOT the problem with this team. Back up is a different story but the starting goalie has been no problem at all.
@@bjrnchrstnidk what that means. All I'm saying is it's tough to watch. Especially after last season when they at least looked like they were playing well together most of the season. They just look lost so far
What the hell is going on with this team they look dead is it Torts I don't know but this is shocking IM ALREADY SICK OF TORTS SAYING TOMMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY NO NO NO BAG SKATE THESE BUMS
Jamie Drysdale is going to break a 50 year old NHL record...bonus so will Egor Zamula. Worst plus minus in a season William Mikkelson 1974, -82 Brad Shaw:"That's why Tortorella loves my work!"
1-4-1 Briere is probably too scared to let Torts and his staff go. This is a bad start. Not surprising but this square peg in a round hole approach is old.
discouraging start but some bounces will start coming our way.....let's go Flyers. Love the coach and his staff and we all just have to be patient, as hard as that is sometimes.
We have to be ready to be honest and ask who's good enough and, if not, move them! Risto Frost Farbee Zamola? We aren't gonna rebuild this thing thru the draft only. It has to be done thru trades free agency and the draft! Danny has to be ready to make tough decisions, and now, too! Trent Federic Chyrun are young UFAS this summer, and those kinds of players have to be in the conversation! If someone isn't getting it done and we have given them enough runway, they have to go simple! We spent way too much time skating in camp when we had ton of other things to address. Ie zone entry pp breakouts offensive execution, etc. We have averaged 2 goals a game since the beginning of the exhibition schedule, including regular season. The ball is in Danny's court player personnel coaching staff, etc, but he can't be afraid to make a mistake cause what we have now won't work now or in the future! Holmgren Hextall and Fletcher did some serious damage to this team but Danny this what you signed up for!!!
I have a feelin there a force in the world that does not want that. Comcast heads, GM, Jones, I don't know who. But this team has been designed to play soft, not hard. And I don't see that changing. Next year they will draft 5 guys who are all under 6ft and have never ever checked hard. Avoiding checks and playing eurohockey is the flyers direction
Tortorella wont play anyone from the ahl. May as well not even have an ahl team. He would rather play cam Atkinson than lycksell or Johnson than andrae. Once you get the ahl label fuggetaboutit
@@shaggyfrankdizzl No. A center must be a two way player and be responsible on defense. Even Giroux was/is a much better wing then center. But if you have no centers, you try Frost (could be an elite wing) and Laughton (he would be a perfectly functional 4th line center on a contender). And we waste Couts for reasons that are unclear.
@michaelcleary9161 what system come on check check check grind grind grind! Offense is always a issue with the teams he coaches. Bobby Brink he will destroy prior to his departure! We can't extend his contract now way!!!
not enough talent on this team, the coach is bad, michkov is overrated, the only 2 good players on the team is konecny and frost that's it the all 3 goalies is the nightmare
Michkov has 2 goals and 5 points in the first 6 games of the season on a shit team that isn't scoring. He's producing at the same rate bedard did in his rookie season. If you watched some of the games so far you would know Michkov could easily have 10+ points already if his teammates were finishing some of the great plays he creates. The only real weakness Michkov has is his skating but thankfully he's only 19 and the skating will be an easy fix, they can teach him to skate better. He already has the elite/franchise level hockey IQ and skillset that not many players in the league have and that can't be taught, if the flyers can improve Michkov's skating he'll be a 100+ point player every season.
