They took the p4g route where their opening highlights the things they've added. So we have 1) The grappling hook being used 2) Kasumi getting her screentime 3) Akechi with the gang 4) winter outfits for the new semester 5) Baseball bats for the various recreational activities added
Also the Showtime (dual attack) in battle that were shown (so far) in the trailers Notice most character interactions shown here Ann - Morgana Morgana - Haru Ryuji - Makoto Yusuke - Ryuji Ann - Yusuke I’m going to assume the last one they didn’t show yet in game was Makoto - Haru Unless Joker, Kasumi, and Akechi have special showtimes
I keep misreading “take your heart” as “take your cat” and now I can’t get the image of joker stalking around his neighbourhood abducting cats out of my mind
Everyone getting their D E S E R V E D screentime makes me happy. Haru and Makoto getting one shot in the original and Akechi getting none was an actual travesty!
@@MegaAccf that is what they know. They were pointing out that Makoto, and Haru were featured once in the OG(placed with Futaba) and Akechi wasn't featured in the OG opening.
@@ryokihama i mean... The only spoilers you might get is after the first story ends, but even then I think the gameplay and such of p5 is fine even if spoiled. I might even say it benefits off of the player knowing certain events are gonna happen.
Makoto: Finally, my LEGO city is done. You like it? Joker: I’m bored. Ryuji: You like my new bat for skull? Joker: Yes, I do. PERSONA 5 THE ROYAL (2019)
Makoto: After seeing Batman movies.... Joker: What are you think? You are daydreaming.... Makoto: I'm queen....(saying a deep voice like batman) Joker: And so what?! I'm Joker. Yu Narukami appears out of nowhere: And I'm King Chad Yu Makoto: ..... *starts oraoraoraoraoraora both of them*
I like this one too, but the first one is so stylish it will never get old. I guess they wanted to show the characters more in this one but it's not really memorable to me
Eh he deserves it after yusuke's palace. Yusuke: "I can't believe I'm holding the last thing my mom painted moments before my surrogate father let her die." Ryuji: "Bruh you aren't gonna cry are you? :Y *buys soda and burps in ann's face.* Why why don't I have a girlfriend?" Horrible shitty person
@@pj_pizza Shut up your "best boy" is a huge asshole that never got an arc where someone told him to fuck off and grow up. It's ironic too cause in his social link, he's smart, he's kind, he's thoughtful. Yet in the canon he's a jerk whi can't keep his mouth shut who lashes out on others and refuses to be the bigger man. A cat had to apologize and grow before he did, in a fight he started btw. And instead of him giving an apology back it's swept under the rug in one of the most poorly written moments.
This is the first time that they've made the main character legitimately smile and look like they're enjoying themselves throughout the entire opening...and omg... I love it

@@DragonMarkting have you paid any attention to the game and details, yes the guy was a murderer, can't deny that, but you have to put into consideration that Yaledaboth had everything to do with the game's events, he medaled with fate and made Akira and Akechi fight each other. And remember what Akechi said? "Had we met earlier we might've been friends", it shows that he deep down, beneath the psychopathic tendencies and maniacal behavior, he is a good guy, he saved the Phantom Thieves and he honestly deserved better
Phantom Thief destroying building with response to their character quest is just brilliant. Like Ryuji destroy a building with 'Falsehood', Futaba destroy 'Suppression', Yusuke destroy the 'Authority', Goro destroy 'Arrogance', and Joker destroy 'Rehabilitation'.... Then they treated the jewel like snow and it just fits since Royal added the 3rd semesters which is set during Winter. Their clothes in this is also Winter clothing, pushing the theme more. Kasumi was first walking and it make her blend with the crowd around. But when she dance, she started creating a private space and create ripples as if her change in action creates a bigger change (sorry, can't explain it well). The 1:17 shot is fanning the BL. But Akechi was sleeping/lying on the snow, eyes closed and he didn't move. Was he sleeping? Or could he be you know..... 'that'. If it is 'that' then with Joker falling down to beside Akechi, could it be that Joker will go through the same fate although Joker ended it with a smile? Hopefully not, since I want him to survive. Okay, it is just random observation go along please. Edit: Thank you for the like and actually I have a rather random addition for this already long comment. Go ahead and re-read it. After the Phantom Thief breaking the building apart (happily I might add, just like how PT believe that they are doing the 'right' thing and genuinely happy about their action), the area turn into desolate area. It might be about that point before the true ending where a certain event happened so we can punish the last human boss justly through court? Yes that one. The other member except Joker and Akechi looked dejected for split frame before they noticed the diamond falling and they proceed to playing with it. I did say that the diamond was snow but it might represent other thing as well. Diamond is regarded to be most precious jewel of all and with the PT playing using it like snow, it could meant that the moment they are playing, their memories together is their most precious treasure. Then at few second after Haru and Ann shoot fusing glass Mona (maybe a bit of play with how we fuse Persona to make a new Persona since it seems we have new form of Mona in Royal) Joker landed while holding heart that might have represented the PT Treasure as he faced the red train that we often see in Mementos so it might be callback about how the true last boss is you know, 'that one over there'. The last shot intrigues me now that I look at it again. Joker and Mona going to the crowd in Shibuya then the crowd spread to make a space for Atlus logo, but it might be how at the end of the days, despite PT destroying buildings and things happened, Joker and Mona will ultimately return to how things are and the world also returned to the same old day.
Damn, after reading this, now I LOVE this opening more. The symbolism, the creativity with the winter clothing, Kasumi, and possible foreshowing with Akechi, and my most favorite of it all - the Phantom Thieves destroying the buildings showing words representing the wrongdoings of society and how it has prevented them from living a happy life and/or being who they are; so they broke every building down and played with their remains as to not only show the delinquency of it all - which would be society's natural view of it - but as an absolute rebellion against societal norms and corruption. The cast being set up as giants also shows how much of an impact they have and hold a larger than life status on their city. Is this opening as smooth as the original? No, but it definitely captures what Persona 5 is about and what it means for the characters WAY more than the original did who just tried to capture the style aspect of Persona 5, imo.
I'll gonna be honest here, the opening here isn't as clean and as smooth as the original P5 intro. Some scenes look very rough and choppy, y'know what I mean. Still hype though! P5 intro is still the best imo
@@Vesperetine Oh, of course it doesn't. But coming from the opening in the original game, which was consistent in tone, animation and context, this is quite a disappointment.
TBF,this intro is more so when you played P5,as in everyone is together and know each other, the original intro had mistery, yea i prefer the old one,but it makes sense why it's a new one,and i like it really.
He isn’t moving and is expressionless. Maybe he is, you know... not alive. And personally I think him becoming a member would be strange because of the things he did, specially Noir’s father and Navi/Oracle’s mother.
@Daniela Luna i like both adachi and akechi, i was spoiled on akechi sadly and i still liked his character, im all for the crazies. i think the reason why people want him free of consequences is due to the fact that if he got put in jail, bye bye team member
Alicia Kong I think the symbolism might be the part with the baseball bats. They might do some restructuring of society, if we infer the eyes represents either the demand of the public and their wish to stay in the false reality or Nyarlathotep is watching over them and they have to take him down through overt action (which would be cool aswell but less symbolic) also the gems might represent their unbreakable freedom or something
It’s similar to how golden abandoned most of it’s themes from the original opening to just instead go with “HEY GUYS LOOK YOU CAN RIDE MOTORCYCLES NOW!!”
Well, yeah there is, and it kinda goes with the song It's pretty obvious knowing what the Phantom Thieves do, the baseball bats and destroying the buildings is them rebelling against society and destroying it to rebuild/fix it, u know saying "this system is horrible and causes tons of pain and misery for innocent people, fucking time to crush it" And all of the gems and glitter and color all over the place as a result of them smashing society is them spreading their values and beliefs, their colors, since colors on flags are representations of the core beliefs of a country or community, what they stand for, what they fight for, what they support, and who they are
@@somecallmetheargentinian2242 Haha, I think they're saying that they thought they didn't want to buy the game because they don't have money, but the opening is making them want to buy it. I think most of us collectively agree lol
