Richard Trevithick, a Cornish inventor and mining engineer designed the world’s first steam loco in 1802, which was built by the Coalbrookdale Company of Telford, Shropshire. A working replica can be seen at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Ironbridge, Telford. Visited on 14th September 2011 and 16th February 2022.
