Ann, thank you so much for this video. I just got my mat and have watched it many times. I have a question. On your mug handles, did you put a small coil around the top of the handle for support and do you do something similar for the bottom? Your presentation is so very nice. Good diction, measured pace, and you don't yuck it up with unnecessary chatter. A pleasure to listen to.
Hi Karen - the coil is SOMETIMES for support if I think the handle may be susceptible to cracking because of the design (thin etc) - but most of the time its just decorative and looking to echo some other design element of the piece. Thanks!
So neat how stretching ones' mind can bring about so many varied patterns from one simple mat. Great result and and very inspiring. Was that the elusive engineer Mr. Benderstiff's hand that appeared at one point in your video? Another good one Ann....Cheers...Freddie
Good eye Freddie...Jerry tried to sneak back in but alas is now mopping Jon the Potter’s workshop floor. My guess however is that we’ve not seen the last of him. He was pretty bitter over the Pebble Mug Incident...stay tuned.
just beautiful. you are a perfectionist, which makes all the difference! i wonder how all those little lines and groves will hold the glaze. will you show us how you've glazed the objects and how they turn out after the final firing? thank you! take care!
@@nowvoyagerNE I would if I could figure out how to post a picture on here. Is there a way? I think we will put a link in the description section and you can click over to see them. If you are on INstagram or on Facebook, just look up Little Street Pottery and the video is there
Fantastic use of the textures and so many combinations. Loved the stamp 250! One question, how do stop the tiles from sticking? Looks like they lifted off easily.
Anne, do you have detailed instructions on how to cut the ribbed mat to make the stampy250? Sorry that I'm so obtuse, I just hate wasting any of the mat through trial and error. 😬 TIA
I have a Wilton cake mat similar to yours. Do you have any trouble with the clay sticking to it? You got great registration from the ribbed mat bits. Good job 👍 I used a similar mat I bought to replace the floor covering in my 1978 MGB.
Hi John. I didnt have any trouble with the clay sticking. I have a feeling that if the clay would have been wetter, the rubber might have been difficult to release, but the clay right out of the bag was no trouble. If you try it and the clay sticks, try dusting the rubber with a bit of corn starch.
This and all your videos are a treasure for me, thank you!!! May I ask, what kind of marker do you use to mark out the pattern on the back of the rubber mat? I just got my mat and want to start making designs, but all I have are black sharpies. TIA
