Jobs and Wozniak, two Steves, were experimenting with electronics in a garage in California in the mid-1970s, dreaming of a computer that ordinary people could use at home. They finally introduced the Apple II in 1977, after months of hard work.
This machine was revolutionary. It had a colour display, could play sounds, and was user-friendly. It was a huge success, and soon every men, woman, and child desired an Apple II in their living room.
It wasn't simply a computer, though; it was a platform. It has expansion card slots for adding new features and capabilities. In more ways than one, it was a game changer, generating an entirely new sector of software creation.

Karateka! I played this game a lot on my TK2000 (an Apple II clone manufactured in Brazil by Microdigital) in the mid-80s.

Elite (4:45) isn’t strictly an Apple II game as it was originally written for the Acorn Electron by Acornsoft.

There’s a reason it’s special. Elite was converted to the Apple II computer by Ian Bell himself and released by Firebird in 1986. So it’s the definitive version and better than the BBC original

discontinued in 1979 but still having games written/released for it 10 years later.. that's impressive..

According to my mom and dad, who were avid gamers back in these days, this was the first computer they sat me in front of at around 2 years old. I had no clue what I was doing, let alone remembering the experience at all with me watching while on their lap, but this was technically my first experience with gaming. My parents gave up video games a long time ago, but I carried the torch for them and still game to this day.

Good list! I would have put up Wizardry and Robotron, oh and maybe Drol on there.

I thought about it, both the games you mentioned on another day would be in the list. Robotron and Wizardry are brilliant

Great list. Personally, I found rescue raiders more addictive than choplifter. I'm a shmups person so I liked bug attack, Sputnik attack and sneakers. Thank you for this great video.

Yeah Choplifter was kind of a mediocre game. I did have the cart for my atari 400 back in the day.

I liked this list and you have mentioned you are still exploring the Apple II in a previous comment - can I suggest you check out all the great David Schroeder first on Apple games like Dino Eggs, Crisis Mountain and my personal favourite Short Circuit (not movie related unlike C64 game) plus John Romero’s Major Mayhem and Dangerous Dave - and these others: IO Silver, Evolution, Drol, Cannonball Blitz, Captain Goodnight, Rescue Raiders, Sundog, Conan, Black Magic, Archon, Stellar 7, Bolo, The Bilestoad, Skyfox, Taipan, Pirates!, Shashbuckler, Aztec, Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, Dragon Wars, The Phantasie Series and the timeless RPG Wasteland

I’ve just discovered Dragon Wars and Conan, very good games. I can see I’ll need to do a part 2 here. Thanks for watching and thanks for the recommendations. If there’s one game you couldn’t live without on the 🍏 which is it?

@@ClassicReplay it would be a coin flip between Short Circuit and IO Silver because arcade style puzzle games is my favourite genre.

I loved this like no other, you are truly a real soul brother, my number one desire, is for you to keep spitting fire, make another clip, one so true, one so hip, one so you, where you rhyme from start to stop, what a time time, heads will pop!!!

Need to check out Wings of Fury, Airheart & Sundog. Also no love for King's or Space Quest series?

Thanks for leaving a comment. I like all the games you mentioned there. I'm new to the Apple II in the grand scheme of things, so I'm playing these games for the first time really, some I've completed, such as Bruce Lee and Batman and I have a list of the games I go back to the most. A game called Conan narrowly missed out, but maybe I'll do a part 2 over the coming weeks.

Really love your channel, you’re interesting to listen to and these consoles you review I didn’t get here in the States are enlightening. Thank you for you work! 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Thank you for the kind words. When I first started, my vids were terrible, but I think I'm starting to produce better content now, It really helps when people confirm it ;-)

Nice bit of poetry. Not sure if I used one. PS one of the pics featured looks like Lady Gaga.

Why thank you and thanks for watching. You lost me with the Lady Gaga comment, unless you have mistaken Wozza with her 🤣

Probably the only reason Oregon Trail is popular is because seemingly every American school had a copy of it to run on at least a couple of Apple II computers back in the 80's and first half of the 90's.
@ClassicReplay
@ClassicReplay 10 месяцев назад
Might also have something to do with it being captivating and brilliant as well 😉

@@ClassicReplay That's cool, I'm happy you enjoyed it! For me, it was SIT DOWN SHUT UP AND PLAY THIS YOU LITTLE ****. Okay, so they didn't call me a little **** I made that up, but they often did get frustrated with my behavior and putting me in front of the computer shut me up for awhile.

@aut0turret bloody hell mate, sorry to hear that. Gaming should be a pleasant experience. Hope all is well.

always thought prince of persia was overrated. some games I remember fondly not on the list are law of the west, spy hunter, marble madness. of course the last two are not exclusives.

Sounds like you’re more into arcade games. Nothing wrong with that.
