Yes!! Iv spent over 20 days in-game and still havent escaped rebirth, one of my guys did and now died, got caught by beak things then cannibals took me away without healing my serious wounds from beaks! That cannibal gang then ran into shek beserkers! and wiped clean!! Haaha I had serious injuries and died once all cannibals were killed :( , it happens still got one guy left as a slave but im slowly getting higher athletics and will make an escape any hour now.
my beginner tips..no matter what happens to you ingame as long as you didn't die..just keep going..try not to load on a previous save..your failures will only make you stronger..
Only time I really load is if something stupid happens. Good example'd be picking up a body at a gate, planning to sell to the local slavers, only to find out it was already captured, and so I committed a "crime".
@@DaniboyBR2 Depends on the failures. So far, I've only had a total death of everything once. And that's mostly my fault for not having someone split from the group and sneak, so they could pick up all the broken corpses of my team. Failures otherwise make you stronger.
Here is some constructive criticism for your next tips videos: SHOW dont TELL. When you talk about prospecting just show a clip where you prospect its not that difficult. Also structure your video. You could put up a text on the video when you are at your next tip because right now it all feels blurry and its hard to follow when one tip ended and the next begun.
I've actually done quite a few tip videos where I did plenty of showing through clips as you said. But for this one, one just has to listen and it's fine.
@@KokoplaysMB As long as you have alternatives with effort I dont mind. Maybe you didnt have time to edit this one I cant know that. But it seems you already know why some people criticize this one in perticular so just ignore my first comment :D
@@Awaseme While I agree, I have to consider the lack of up to date Kenshi content online currently. 100+ hours in and I haven't managed to move far from the Holy Nation without paying the price. I'm happy just to see relevant information available.
Very helpful video. Thank you. Two tips, get a pop-guard for your mic and it would be amazing if you actually showed footage of you performing these actions while in game.
Brilliant! Just bought this game. Haven't even launched it yet. Have watched a little bit of footage online but wanted some tips.... this sir is GOLDEN ;)
Or produce large amounts if hash for ez money, have like 30-50 guys farming and processing the hash have another 10-20 mining... then have a main squad for fighting I usually have 50+ in this including my main 5 guys and I only recruit my race so sometimes it slows the recruiting speed haha but yeah it's good fun being able to run in towns and just flatten everyone
Sounds like in this game, everything is legal as long as you 1 don't get caught or 2 too powerful for anyone to stop u :/, lmao, can't wait to play dis
Skinners roam is a good place to build a base. It has copious amounts of stone, copper, iron, wind (Energy), and 60% water. Its close to cities and the bandits are on the easier side. Only down side is it’s hard to grow veggies (still possible) and massive armies of hungry bandits roam the place.
@@shipwrecker37 Nope. Raids consist of just bandits and faction enemies. The Holy Nation is nearby, so make sure to have one human male in your group; they travel to your outpost in skinners.
I enjoy the format of the vid man :)... telling thing and a gameplay of anything in background works for me, its kynda inmersive and you can still pay attention to what are u saying.
My first character Ever is in your party!!! I started a char, and his random name was Dirt!!! oh dirt how i miss thee... we traveled the desert together..
Jesus I waited so long for your to show something on screen related to what you were saying. This isn't worth the time if you're not going to show what you're talking about.
Bootstraps start, i even did this from Rock Bottom with no mining. 1: Loot Shek ruins west of Squin 2: Sell loot, buy Wooden Backpack 3: Buy hash in Shark, sell hash in Strange Town, repeat a few times and any time your cats get below 100k then go do whatever you want, you're rich now. All that mining, shoplifting and petty theft, and scavenging smelly loincloths from starving broke bois is for simps and scrubs, go get them gangsta chunks like a real G.
could you explain strength vs dexterity? I mean if I just want to use katanas then I don't need strength...or if I want to just use heavy weapons then I don't need dexterity. Or do I need both regardless of weapon choice?
I believe that heavy weapons rely on strength to do plenty of damage while lighter weapons rely on dexterity to hit more often. But if you're using light weapon and you have more strength you'll still do more damage and if you have a heavy weapon and a bit of dexterity, you'll be swinging just a bit faster. More of a stat is always better in this case.
No. If you help a slave to escape they might decide to join you, otherwise you can people in cities and they usually want 3-6k recruitment fee and there's some unique ones that cost more or are free. You can also download Recruit Prisoners or Recruit Anyone mods which gives you an option to recruit people out of your prisoner cages.
thanks for the tips man. I have a question: how can you update your walls from lvl 2 to lvl 3? Apparently the game doesnt allow me to do it and i dont want destroy my currents walls and make new ones
Unfortunately you have to rebuild them and cannot upgrade. You need to research something like bigger/better building foundations and I guess that's the reason why you have to rebuild, the old foundations just can't handle the upgrades.
@@dogerio yea it's okay I was just worried abit that it went below 60 on 2080ti. Then again it's a blady good game so minor issues like this won't bother me for long.
The best way to sell off stolen stuff ( even from the same town ) is park your pack animal outside the shop, initiate the transaction with your human character and sell from the pack animal's inventory. Even if you get caught.. there won't be consequences - as opposed to selling stolen stuff from one of your main biped characters. At first, the fencing chance is small.. but as you persist and abuse the RNG system, trying to sell off the same object or others, it will eventually pay off. I made over 90000 cats in two days with this method. It's a great option for people that don't want to wait decades to amass a decent amount of money and obviously is not for everyone. I really hope they leave it as is. I also made a base in the desert biome... so, farming is rough. I steal most of the food from bars to sustain my 15+ squad :))) until I can find a more viable source of food.
@@KokoplaysMB yup ^^ you can try your chance for another resell with the same vendor XD and if you repeat the process with the same animal on a certain vendor, its fencing chance will go up. So, basically pick a prime bull or garru to handle this stuff for you.
It's outside pretty much every major city in the Great Desert, it's outside the Hub in multiple places as well. Out in the wild look for any old debris, it's usually copper that you can grab.
There is an iron node and copper node together on the road straight outside of (squim, quim quen)? That shek city that's down the mountain and through the valley near the hub.
What an awful video. Save your time and skip it. Commentary talks about feeding your animals - video shows random combat. Commentary talks about using the medic skill - video shows more random combat. Commentary talks about sneaking into a city - video shows a squad of guys running across the desert. Commentary talks about weather effects - video shows yet more random combat. How would someone make a video this bad? If you're not showing people what you're talking about, the video content is useless.
I being a new kenshi player found it rather helpful, just because he shows late gameplay of the game instead of what he is talking about doesnt make it a bad video, it's a common thing on a lot of people's videos, chill out.
Alexander Quinn People would be more receptive to your criticism if you were nicer about it. Starting a post calling a video “awful” and telling people to stop watching isn’t making you friends. Your criticism is valid though, this video might as well be an audio clip. The creator should have put video clips to show what he was talking about.
Looks like you've already gotten your answers, but no. No pay to win. That structure is typically seen in multiplayer games, this game by comparison is purely singleplayer. So no pay to win ;)
As others have said, video may as well be an audio clip. Don't know how this guy has 7k subs' either judging by the arrogant tone to most of his replies in the comments.
@Nubbinz Arse licker much? I stated the way in which he replies to most comments are arrogant. In this context, his reply was again, arrogant. And I was here to get some Kenshi tips. My bad though, I didn't realise the comments section on RU-vid videos were only to brown nose...
@killachris28 Yea I know :( Didn't intentionally mean too, but when you criticise something and are not being constructive but still want to criticise, it's hard to not come across like an ass, if that makes any sense? I did take into consideration whether he was being attacked first or not before making my comment. Still find him arrogant. Nubbinz was just being a cock though :)
I think that will help me a lot, bougth this game yesterday and i love it. My first ever start was "Guy with a dog" , i was just wondering around trying out some mechanics and met an Imperial Guard who noticed that i am hungry...lucky me, beeing on the brink of starvation was considered a crime in the empire. They beat me bloody and broke my legs...then they ate my dog... Craziest first five minutes in a game i ever had and obviously i died shortly after. i love this game, and it hase a realy beautifull soundtrack.
I like how "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" works literally in this game. My whole crew almost died 4-5 in a row cuz those beaky giraffes. Now they are freaking tough.
I literally just started playing this week....one of the best tips I can offer so far is.....use a dead body as a rucksack for a while it allows you allot more storage for looting and mining...works your strength and agility abit too i think
@@KokoplaysMB yeah tmit was just abit of an accident discovery too....I have been watching Mathas play Kenshi and I loved it so then I bought it over the weekend and holy crap its addictive AF
I think you have great tips and a nice sounding voice, though I'm not a native speaker, I can understand perfectly what you're saying... But the way you recorded, a single take of a long monologue with everything crammed in and random footage in the background, just makes me lose the train of thought and rewind at every 3 minutes... I tried turning on subtitles to try and focus on what you're saying, but the unrelated gameplay in background with bright colors, the information overload with text and status screens, the frequent diction correcting, it's all *very* distracting from what you're trying to say and I just can't finish watching... Would be great if you summed up those ideas on a written guide!
You can make 150k one night in black scratch. First grind stealth and thievery, everyone knows how to do the stealth. Thievery best way to grind is steal a bunch of items, drop them all and steal them again, rinse repeat. Go to the Library in Black Scratch, hide opposite side from the stairs til closing times, wait for guards to change shifts. There will be one guard facing the door. Pick up a shit ton of the old books (worthless, mods that help you stack are valuable here), drop them all, steal them again, keep going til the steal chance is over 100% for the boxes. Steal all the blueprints, run to the closest town which is very close by (I forget the name), and sell all the books to the various shops. 150k cats every. single. time. And the library refreshes it's books often. You're welcome :)
Trust me, using exploits to get ahead in this game is going to make it boring fast. That whole thing of being on edge and not knowing where you'll end up or how you're going to eat next is the meat of the game. You can just get on the FCS and debug menu to raise your levels to what you want with out so much grind.
6:00 Koko: *talks about sneak and thievery* Koko: *says that if you are a proper person you not gonna do that* Me, who robbed 6 towns blind in the first 6 hours of the game: *sweats profusely*
Well I guess you can think of them as chaotic like a melee fight should be and then it makes sense you can't follow everything when it comes to big fights. But I agree with you, it could be great from a cinematic perspective.
@@wildankautsar7148 I'm not a modder, so I don't know if it's easy or difficult to work on, but there are a lot of mods out there for the game. Most of them are optimization or quality of life mods though, so no complete game overhauls.
@@ShadowMudkip123 yes this game definitely have so much potential, just cant think enough what dev and modder can make the game better and more immersive. I hope they wont stop to keep updating Kenshi
big tip is to try to start leveling crafters skill asap, as it takes a long time to get them high tier to make best quality armor, weapons, etc besides doing research in an npc town (safety) i also get some crafting benches going and have them mass produce cloth bandanas or iron clubs. takes a bit of special storage, some workbenches, and some manual purchasing of fabrics, iron, etc from vendors. and manual selling of the insane amount of crafted bandanas required to level a crafter up. probably want several scorched race humans for armor smith/weapon smith, and w/e for crossbow smith, also robotics if you plan to go into skeleton limb crafting at a high end level with the peeler machine. you have to plan far ahead to be ready with skilled crafters for later game progression. crafting a single high end piece of gear takes a considerable amount of time, so it takes a long time for a single crafter to outfit an entire army.. more crafters is better.
@Kokoplays MB On the Thievery tips, I have something to add. If you use the assassin skill to knock out the merchant and his/her guards without getting caught, you will be able to steal at 100% for everything in the store while they are unconscious. As soon as they wake up though it goes back to using your skill in thievery. Another tip, if you have a character with high stealth, assassination, athletics, thievery, and lockpicking, you have what I believe the Kinshi community calls a "Ninja". These units if used properly can be extremely powerful, even if their attack and defense skills are garbage. You can use them to take down whole cities without ever pulling a sword. They are the most effective at night, but can still be used during the day if your careful. I took down Tengu's vault with one ninja by going around knocking out all the samurai defending it and putting them in the cages on the top floor. One caveat though, its very hard to get your assassination skill up far enough to knock out higher skilled characters without failing many attempts. I skilled my ninja up fast by getting him enslaved and then repeatedly escaping, and knocking out all who stood in the way of my escape. When I failed at an assassination attempt, and I did often, I just got enslaved again, and started the process all over again. It took me three days and nights to get him skilled enough to escape without ever getting caught and have an assassination percentage in the high 80s for the more powerful slavers in the camp. Beware, this will make the slavers and traders guild mad at you, I have both factions at -100 because of my escapades.
I love the way assassination works, but as you said it's not that easy to level up high enough to be able to take down higher level enemies. Also, I'm pretty sure if you KO the merchant and pick him will never count as being there until you carry him so it should be 100%.
Ninjas can get you some solid midrange units from the deadlands as well if you have the "reprogram skeletons" or "recruit prisoners" mods by going around to the ruins and knocking out all the skeletons at the ruins
Best kenshi tip. Just keep going. Your attempt at robery fails, you got arrested and enslaved? Just keep going. Dont reload an old save. Just. Keep. Going. Some of your folks will die, just keep going. You lose your fortune? Just keep going. Thats all you need. To just keep going. You'll learn as you go on and the fact is, the characters you made at the start will likely die. But do long as even just one lives, keep. Going.
just made an empire of copper, iron plates and bars on my first run, having a gatehouse (2 doors, 1 corridor of death)with turrets on the wall will protect you from everything
your kenshi content made me actually buy kenshi on steam instead of playing a cracked one, that never happens, you can officially be proud of being an amazing content creator - Piefruit certified
bounty goes away even when greyed out, ou simply just can see the actual timer if you are near a city from a faction that has a bounty on you, ive tested this multiple times on my solo thief campaign, i stole all the nobles in UC and when one eventualy catched me i proceded to HN to sell stuff i stole and let the bounty fade and steal from them
Another tip, although this video is rather old, or more like a trick. If you have a bounty on your head, and a certain city is being attacked by a huge group of people, and brought to police You can carry your bounty head to them, if their cells are full of attackers, they will drop your bounty person outside, since cells are full.
I was babysitting my nephew a few years back (he was 2) and I heard him come down the stairs very slowly, so I hid behind the door to the kitchen and as he got level with the door I stepped out and whispered to him 'What, are you doing?' to which he replied (in all seriousness) 'Sneaking!' 🤫 He didn't get into trouble but I told him he needed to keep practicing to get his skill level up. I reckon he'll be ninja ready by the time he's about 7
I made walls around my first outpost and set up turrets to build, then some black dragon ninja came, sat down in my house and started to build up my turrets, I managed to kill them but the game is hard xD
Pro-tip for newbies: Install some mods. But if you want to play vanilla, AT LEAST install the mod "General Modifications". It is a MUST HAVE. Read the mod description and you will know why. Unless you want a very tech advanced outpost where your settlers still extract copper manually... :v
I would advise against that. Gen Mod changes a ton of vanilla settings and can throw it out of balance. If you're a new player go vanilla but maybe grab Dark UI and 256 Squad Limit, but avoid Gen Mod.
@@KokoplaysMB Well, it makes the game more complex. Maybe a bit too much. But for me, i consider it a must have. I just played Kenshi 60 hours, like 20 vanilla and 40 with mods, and that one specific just improved everything for me. Anyways my interest on that mod is mostly Copper Drill, and there are one or two Copper Drill mods standalone in the Workshop, so, i recommend them. I just think General Modifications offers a way better experience playing Kenshi. Other mods: i recommend: "Recruitable Prisioners", "Enhanced Shopping Economy" (if you want to run your own business), "Shops have more items" (but this one has a downside: If you play as a thief, you will just swim on cats. Someone who want's a hardcore thief experience maybe should avoid this one). "Nice Map (Zones + Zone Names + Roads)". "Reactive World" for those who wants... that, a world with more reactions as you influence it. "More Names". "Racial Diversity". "New Weapons Dissemination". "Animation Overhaul Mod". Some cool mods: "Faces+" "Flashier Fight" (This one makes you capable of doing any weapon movement with any weapon. This might affect combat due to the game engine...) "Compressed Textures Proyect" (helps those who have an old PC setup like me) "Higher and Stronger random Bounties" (if you plan to roleplay as a bounty hunter, you can start exploring the outlands trying to find random guys with bounties from 1000 to 10.000 cats as far as i could see) "More Names" "Profitable Slavery" "Race Bloods" "+18 Female Body" "Bouncing Boobs". Cheers!
The main reason I don't like Gen Mod is it because it combines a bunch of good mods with a bunch of mods I don't really like and want in my series. I understand how it can be easy for a new player to just download that one mod and plug and play but I personally prefer to hand pick the mods that fit my playstlye. I still think trying out vanilla first and then browsing the Steam workshop is the way to go, picking new mods as you go to see what fits your playstyle.
Explore ruins for good loot. There is a good crossbow on one of the east islands you can swim to. You can get at the very beginning of the game and use it till the end.
but seriously iv made 60k in one thief run so id highly advise joining the shinobi thieves and going up as a thief you will never have to worry about money again
damn bro, you are too serious to response my comment I dont give a fkin shit about ideology in game, if there are a big chance for you to get money without risking nor making enemies, why i must suffer in game tho lol
I know I'm late to the party, but as there's a new patch out since April 15th, I wanted to add a tip here: Be a drug lord! Early on, with a few thousand cats in your pocket, a trader's backpack and some guys in the party (and perhaps a pack animal) you can go to the swamp, and invest as much as you can afford into cheapest hashish for around 135 cats a piece. (in pretty much every village in the swamp there will be a trader or two, selling fish and drugs.) Then make your way through the burning forest (watch the spiders there - they can be nasty if you and your dudes are low level) and into the region flats lagoon. In the middle of the flats lagoon, you'll find a pretty big town with the same name. Drugs are legal there, so the otherwise pesky guards won't bother you. You can sell your drugs there for a hefty 770 or so cats a piece. That way, I've made a fortune just with selling drugs, with only 5 untrained guys in my party!
Yay I don't have a pc but I still like watching these videos something about the real time strategy needed to stay alive witch peaks my interestlol can't wait to get my job so I can buy a of and try it out loln
I remember when they added base building, decided I'd have to try it again... but something came up and forgot about it. Got on a recent Kenshi kick, and glad did. Many hours of fun.
Skeletons don't eat food... Cannibals don't eat metal. Free toughness, ima leave it at that. Kenshi is a lot less scary when your main dude has 100 toughness in the first week... ;)
take this game slap abit more graphic and give it a 3rd person mode and bam you got ur self an awesome RPG it still is awesome but wouldnt mind these things :)
maybe my playthrough is glitched i found spots in stores wehre you can steal and not get caught.. i would sit there and steal and steal and steal till i got the item. i learned if noone is around you they wont be able to find you if you get caught. trick is you need to fail it once and see how they path and find the spot. the "spot" is an area that stays blue/yello when u get caught
