Excellent video. I really appreciate the level of detail. When experts do instructions for beginners they often leave out things that are second nature, such as specifically how to remove the gimbal cover. Your video gave me what I needed to know.
Just watched your video. June 30, 2021. After getting the DJI Fly app to work, after two try’s everything feel into place. Had a DJI Phantom 2 years ago. With a GoPro 2.. only got about a dozen flights before issues came about, $1,200 down the drain. Nothing wrong with the Phantom just the Gimbal issue. Gave it to another flyer. This looks like a winner. Now to learn all the settings, functions etc. Thanks for posting. Dan in Longview Washington USA
I bought a Mavic Mini Fly More Combo approx 3yrs. ago. The controller they sent looks just like the one they sell with the Mini 2. What's up with that? I finally retired and someday, soon,I hope, may get a chance to try and fly it again.
Brilliant vids Aldryn, exactly what I needed. Ordered mine and awaiting delivery following a fly away experience with a very cheap unit, lesson learnt. I shall watch both several times while awaiing delivery, I dont want to watch another drone disappeare into the distance, not a pleasant experience. Thank you for your very proffesional demonstrations, I'm hooked already.
My first drone was a 5 inch freestyle drone. My second drone was a 5 inch freestyle drone. This is good info for this particular drone even if it isn't your "first" drone. Well done sir, thank you for sharing.
Aldryn: I'm a 78 year old submarine veteran and have just ordered a Mini Fly More which will be here in a few weeks. I absolutely love your beginners videos and have taken notes and will print them in a sheet to put in the drone case. I know you are a very experienced drone veteran and as such I really appreciate your patience with someone like me who is just starting out. The first drone I had was a Hubsan and I flew it into my face and the propeller cut the hell out of my right cheek. I still have the scar to prove it. Keep up the good work.
This drone is awesome for people just learning to fly! The thing to remember is that to stop this drone from moving just let go of the controller. The drone does a great job of keeping itself steady!
@@filmlog1983 This is exactly what was wrong with the Hubsan. It was coming toward me and I pulled off the controller, but it took several feet to stop that i did not anticipate.
@@ashleyfletcher7373 I crashed mine trying to overcorrect and stop it myself. Still learning but there is a video about it on my channel if you want to learn from my mistake.
Thanks for your videos on the Mavic Mini. I just got mine today but only able to use it for a short bit due to work schedule. The little time I flew it was awesome. Your videos helped me get it up and running fairly quickly. I cant wait to play with it more tomorrow. Thanks again!
I just get my today from Best Buy... so I watch your vid again to make sure I know what I’m doing... lol... as always your channel still one of the best choice.... thank you..
I do appreciate the work you put in to this. Got mine last night and had no idea where to start. The manuals that come with the Mavic-Mini are pretty useless.
Thanks for doin this guide. The fly more combo is hot wanted here in germany, so I've got to wait another 2 weeks for it... Videos like this help to make the waiting easier.
Thank you Aldryn. Thanks to you I learned how to upgrade the software and connect this mini to my phone. It's time to start using this again while the weather is good here on the East Coast. Hulloha from Hull, Massachusetts
Brilliant and very useful, as usual. I look forward to part 2. I will get m MM in a few weeks and will be able to look it in the eye with confidence, thanks to your tutorials.
New Drone Pilot... and thanks. Getting the firmware update gave me control over the video settings and more. I've enjoyed and learned much from your vids. I'm a professional photographer wanting to add quad shots to my repertoire. You should do one on the DJI Simulator... pretty cool, and some of the sims they have will make you know you need to practice!
I really like your presentation without the gimmicks and BS. Watched this before my first flight the information was invaluable and much appreciated. I must ad one comment that is never mentioned but I observed is make sure your fingers and screen on your phone are clean! When in the sunlight the prints obscure the screen and is very annoying.
Just took delivery today of my Mini. I took advantage of the 20% off Amazon Prime Day Sale ;) Can't wait to try out my new Drone ! Thanks so very much for this thorough and informative setup guide, it is well-appreciated.
Hi you are great. The way you tech us is fabulous. Im a new member here..got mavic mini 1 week before. My question is how to determine wind is not going to be a problem. Also what is the best condition to record video? Minimum wind speed? Thanks
Thanks for the refresher! I haven't flown for a while and this 'reentry' video helped me to make sure I have everything ready in order to go out again.
aziz aladwani the presentation seemed very quick to me why do they have to speak at 100 mph as though they are a firefighter and have to attend an emergency or something and have to squeeze in a 30 min video into a 20 min video! This video is aimed at the newcomer and surely things should be explained at a nice leisurely pace and things that way will not be missed out! Just a thought!
Great, practical video. One question: in order to fly the drone, is it a must to have installed the SD micro card, because mine didn’t come wit it? Thanks.
Nice video, thanks! One suggestion to add would be to charge the controller too! I got out to try my first flight and the controller didn;t have enough charge :-)
I know I'm a bit late to the party for the Mavic Mini, but I have to say thank you for all of the info that you give. Its helped make my decision to purchase this drone much easier. Keep up the good work.
Just ordered mine for my 66th birthday! Boomers are awesome! Will use in my work to monitor public gardens as well as security, follow my cats, check out country around me, flocks of birds etc
Bro. Nice video. I’m so new in this stuff. Everything was ok. But you forgot to tell us that the drone control has to be charged too. Thank you for your time
Super cool video(s). I really appreciate this content, as one who has never flown a drone before and just plunked down several hundred dollars for this one!
Hi Aldryn, I‘m Siggi from Germany. Thank you for those videos that helped me a lot. But I have two more questions for you. 1.) Can I fly two Mavic Mini with one account? Or do I need for every Mavic Mini a different account? 2.) Can I fly two Mavic Mini at the same time without getting in trouble because maybe of the remote control? Or does a remote control only works with the drone it came with. I just wanna know because I already got the standard version. But after a few days I found out that I made a big mistake! For just 100 bucks more it’s always better to buy the „Fly More“ version. So I ordered the „Fly More“ version directly from DJI in China and hopefully I get it the next week. Maybe my wife and I can fly then together. But I wanna make sure it works and don’t get any trouble because of two same drones and remote controls. Thx 4 your help 👍
Hi. I'll make this quick. I looked through most of your videos and didn't see anything about where I can fly my Mavic Mini. I'm having a hell of a time trying to find places. Have you done a video about it?
Great video. Just a FYI I just got a mini today followed your directions but app said controller can't connect to aircraft. Tried 4 times starting over same thing. Uninstalled and reinstalled app still nothing. I did online tech support chat and after I turn everything on you hold both on buttons on remote and mini simultaneously 4 seconds or so and it linked them together. BTW I am way new beginner. Thanks again. I'll be watching more.
FlytPath Really liking your videos! New “All notifications” subscriber here! Question: I took off and had my distance set close. I was in the air and wanted to push out my max distance, but it seems I had to land first before resetting in the air?
FIRSTLY... ALL of your videos are helpful and really easy to understand, thats why i bought a mini mavic. SECOND, What happens if my friend wants to fly in the APPROX area that i'm in. will he have control of mine and crash mine? Thank you in advance!!!
Thank you for your video. I just received my Mavic Mini today and will be planning on using a iPad mini with a tablet holder attached to the controller. Do I have to connect the iPad mini to the controller via that Lightning cable that came with the device? Some of your shots look familiar being that we're from Carmel Valley.
Yes you can, you connect the other white lead in box from the USB socket on the charger to the controller and it will charge the controller in sequence if you have battery fitted in the charger or it will go straight t charging the controller if there are no batteries.
This is a good video for newbies but unfortunately I came here for 2 things that I still don’t know. - how do you turn the batteries on? - How do you know how much charge is left in the batteries when they’re on a shelf? Other dji batteries have leds on the battery. Is this gone?
I got mine last week and i can tell you: the batteries don't need to be turned on. And there are no LEDs on the batteries to indicate the level. But when you place in batterie inside the drone. Shortly press the butten on the drone and the leds on the drone will tell you how much power is left in it. Or do the same inside the hub wich you get with fly more combo. Hope this will help you.
Awesome video! Just checking. Does the Mavic mini controller not come with a cable slider ? The piece of plastic that keeps the cable at a 90° angle... Cheers 👍
Just ordered my first dji drone, the mini. Look foreward to implementing all this. I've flown a few cheaper drones but it looks like I get to see what a real drone flies like.
I wish I had realized the Fly More set isn't sold separately. Figured I'll first buy the basics and get the goodies later on, but it's just in the combo. Oh well. Just got my Mavic Mini today.. too late to go test it out and -1 celsius outside so wanted to try and at least hover it a bit inside to see how it does, but it can't seem to connect to GPS at all. First it didn't even find any satellites but after being on for a good 10 minutes it had found 6. Will have to try and go outside away from all the interference to calibrate it tomorrow, at least if it's not negative degrees or wet outside.
I do not want to remove strong phone cover so I want to use extended USB connection cables so my phone is more handy , the cables which I received from Mavic combo they are too short . have you used any extended cables with male-female connection or OTG? please recommend. Thank you
First of, THANK YOU for the tips. But you know one thing that's not discussed in these reviews?? And I have been looking into several of them and didn't find anyone discussing or experiencing about it. It's when the Mavic Mini gets overheating messages during long time firmware updates. I don't know if they encounter it or not, but for those newbies like me, you might encounter overheating during the firmware updates installation. During this time, the props are not spinning and so the drone is completely idle for several minutes and that's when an overheating can be encountered. I believe a fan can cool down your Mavic Mini while the update is being installed. I have encountered this problem yesterday during the installation of several updates/initial configurations.
Nice video. I would suggest a new flyer buy a TELLO or TELLO edu to learn to fly. Then, take those skills to the next level with a Mavic Mini. Then, if the user is still excited about flying, get a higher end model of the Mavic series. I say Mavic because (in my mind / opinion) all drones should fold like a Mavic. Just makes so much sense. I started in the exact opposite way with a P4, then a Mavic Mini, and finally a TELLO. LOL! Reverse that order and you should be good.
Nice video ,very informative, i have one question, Does the phone connected need an Internet connection /data plan active to fly the drone and use all the camera functionality.
I have a question.. In quick shots..if u put it on circle.. And seturself as the subject.. Will it continue to move round. Even if u keep Walking ahead.? Like sort of cheating it to active track?
