I have been doing the massage for the 3rd day this is the 1st day I heard gurgling come from it and it did feel better after that. I'm praying I do not have the acid reflux come up within the night or just before getting up tomorrow morning. I see my Chiropractor on Wednesday and hoping he is able to get the throactic back into place this time and I will be having Acupuncture done this time.

Thank you for this! I've had 2 endoscopy procedures to "fix" my hernia. I've never been told that exercise could help. I have scoliosis and was never told that it could be the culprit...I'll be starting these TODAY!
Earlier this year in February was the worst time of my life but it turned out to be the most eye opening one. I remember feeling a tightness in my chest and I panicked wondering what was going on with me. I took about four trips to the emergency room from panic attacks, only to lead to the gastro doctor to learn I had a small sliding hernia or hiatal hernia. It effects my esophagus and it can get so annoying sometimes breathing along with it. I had to get an endoscopy and I was so scared and I cried. I didn’t want to get it, but it ended up being one of the bravest moments in my life and I felt so relieved to know I didn’t have anything threatening. I no longer have health anxiety. I just wanted to say thank you for this and I’m going to check out these exercises. I recently had a flare up and I know it’ll go away soon. For everyone that goes through the same thing, you are strong and not alone! I wish you love ❤
@@observer-j1g you are so right and that’s what caused me so much anxiety because it isn’t just casual stomach pain, it’s pressure on my diaphragm and esophagus which is so much worse especially when breathing. it definitely caused down moments in my life because you feel trapped. i pray for a good surgery for you. if i can’t handle my hernia anymore, i’m gonna ask for surgery too. i don’t want this pain anymore.
@@snowyhogsmeade I'm aware and I'm sure he is too. It's common knowledge with this topic. BUT it's still comforting and nice for him to get it if that makes him feel better. Everyone is different, and surgery could definitely help him for a while until his hernia heals more.

I would like to get back to weight lifting after I created my hernia being pregnant and lifting. I believe that I can cure this (without surgery) and be back to heavy weights again. But after 2nd pregnancy, I realized i was only making it worse. You are the only one that I have finally found that seems to know exactly what I have and seem to know how to fix this... I am very curious in your maneuver and all/ any info on this hernia. Also, here to ask can I do dead lifts, weighted squats without making this worse? I'm sure my heavy weight hip thrusts are to blame for this- while pregnant- (I had no clue) but are those off limits for this hernia as well? Thank you in advance (and for your video)
Ive been pregnant twice and I face the same problems in my life my second pregnancy made me worse I struggle a lot through out the day hope to find some ease now
As my wife is suffering from Umbilical hernia and after usg scanning it's around 2cm for that doctors are suggesting for surgery so is there any exercise for to get rid from surgery please suggest us the best
There are none! We give supplements for those that have had the hiatal hernia fixed with the maneuver and still have GERD, which is rare. Once the hernia is fixed the reflux flies away most of the time.
Hi Doc. I have mutiple bulging disks on both sides of my lumbar and numerous bulging disks in my neck. I believe i have hiatal hernia. Could these conditions be a cause for the hiatal hernia? Some exercises you shown i cannot do for they flare up the disks (anything side to side) thanks

Hi doctor. Please help me i am very upset from past two weeks. My right leg slipped on the road and after that i was experiencing pain and muscular spasm on between chest and abdomen on right side. I went to doctor one week later and while inspecting he pressed on my stomach very tightly to check for pain (the line where abdomen starts). From that day onwards i have excess gas, belching and bloating on my stomach. While lying on bed after lunch i get heartburn and shortness of breath. I was also having difficulty swallowing but that is resolved. I am also having chest pain. I also feel something struck on the area below chest and above abdomen. Could this be related to hiatus hernia. I am having trouble concentrating on my studies. I am a student and 26 years old. Please let me know what this could be?
Hi, I had been looking for yoga or natural therapies which cure my hiatal hernia as I do not want to go under the knives. But I would like to know if these exercises are advisable in pregnancy
No I would wait until after you give birth, it’s safe in first trimester. We have a hiatal hernia maneuver that is extremely effective especially when done prior to these exc. but you must wait until pregnancy is over.
I tend to pull my back out and get a very serious pull on my growing, don't know if this a hernia or not as I get cramp in my rib cage and it hurts very bad. I get a bulge too that balloons out but not through and then goes away after I stretch it out like a standing side lunge, arm over the head. What can I do to strengthen my rib cage,or what ever is causing this to happen. Putting my socks on will activate this cramp too. Thanks in advanced for any information.

@@jessemarin5044 great question: first you want to get an endoscopy or barium swallow. 90% are sliding type 1 hiatal hernias and the hiatal hernia hook invention will help immensely. Sometimes these tests miss the hernia if it’s smaller than 2cm. So if you don’t get diagnosis via these tests you can STILL use our invention the hiatal hernia hook.

Hi - great vid, quick qn... I may or may not have a sliding hh, but have suffered LPR for years (carnivore diet helped) and have always had the need to burp every time I lie down or stand up after lying down... I now currently have Roemheld syndrome which is very likely related... point is I've tried strengthening my diaphragm so many times over the years, with exercises, breathing, the IQoro, and without fail, it always makes things worse... even if I start slowly, the deep diaphragmatic breathing just seems to pull at something around the LES area and everything flares up... generally it takes a week or so for the reflux to settle down afterwards... so, I'm more than happy to try again, and really need some relief now that the Roemheld is causing heart rhythm issues because of the gut, but how can I approach this and why do these exercises aggravate things, seemingly only for me? Thanks in advance 🙌
A hernia is probably pushing up against the heart causing all these issues!...there super difficult to detect unless you get a sonogram and tighten up your diaphragm during the exam...goto cardiologist and explain to then what's going on or a gastro doctor to confirm it
I was told that I had a hiatal hernia ten years ago and had acid reflux for the ten years. I just had another endoscopy and the hernia was gone. The only difference from ten years ago was that I had bought a rowing machine and was working out 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes. I’m so happy about it.
Are you still symptomatic? Because small hiatal hernias are often missed on endoscopy, especially if it’s smaller than 2cm. Glad your doing well though! Keep rowing! Improved posture is important, hyper kyphosis exacerbates Hh

Hello Dr. Kulla, I am 28 year old , diagnosed with large hiatus hernia. My doctor advised me to lose weight. What excercises should I avoid, as I saw in some forums that hiatal hernia patients should avoid sit ups, squats , crunches. Please upload a video on what excercises to avoid with hiatal hernia. Your input and insight will be very helpful to many. Please do it.
I have a large one as well. Occasionally, I am absolutely miserable. I have lost 35m pounds though, and it has definitely helped. I just walk 30 mins a day 5 days a week. I was told not to lift weights or do the exercises you listed. Wish you well.
I just started with the lying down, stomach breathing so far, I think I will introduce some more of these gradually, definitely noticing some benefits. I did also read that just hanging from a bar can help to put the stomach back in place as well, and I find lying with my arms spread wide also helps.
I have a hernia, nerve damage, and not much cartilage left in my shoulders therefor I am constantly unaligned. The wall angels exercise helped me align my body within minutes. Thank you
Wow! Thank you! I believe I have been suffering with a hiatal hernia ever since my last baby was born 32 years ago. Unfortunately I have been misdiagnosed over and over and lived on PPIs off and on for 3 decades. My last endoscope finally found the hernia. Unfortunately my GI gave me double protonix daily as I was already on one a day. But this only aggravated and made it worse. I got off the protonix and actually got better! Then months later, one week ago, I had a bad hernia 'flair up'. But, now knowing it is a hiatal hernia, I chose to seek better education, knowledge and underatandingnof hiatal hernia and how to properly treat it without medication or surgery or spending loads of money on Drs who never explained a single thing to me about hiatal hernia, how to treat it without medication(only covers some symptoms), and how to avoid a flare-up! Now, I know! Thank you!!
I take it on my own , to visit every 6 months , to have EGD Test , to keep in check with my Esophagus , and GERD . This second time visiting , I found out 4 / 5/2023 , I have small hiatal hernia. But I was NOT told, where or what to do to fix it . For now on I'm going every 5 months to have an EGD test . No doctor says, how to CURE Esophagus or GERD, that's horrible . I want to have a Normal life.
@@debbiec6216 I spent the better part of the year reading about acid reflux and causes came to the conclusion that I have para-oesophageal hernia. I been to the GI for the last 3 years and says she has no idea and 2 endoscopy done and found nothing! She sends me on my way and never consults with me even though I told her I have the hernia. She says there’s no cure or treatment for it yet people have a successful surgery that cures it. So either this doctor is in it for the paycheck or just straight up incompetent

I do everything I am supposed to to be doing for the past year. and still not better- lost 50 lbs and still have symptoms. Would be interested in learning more about your device!!!!!
Should you do these exercises even though your hiatal hernia has not been adjusted and moved? Will these cause more pain if your stomach is in the hiatus? Can these exercises be helpful even though your stomach is up high in hiatus?
No first adjust the hernia then exercise . All these exercises are meant to strengthen the diaphragm so that the stomach doesn't comes up again from the hiatas.
@@saffsunday9030 the exercises are meant to push the hernia down , It would be safe to first push the hernia down with your own fingers /self help tool /by jumping in the morning with plenty of water in your stomach, then do the exercises, a strong diaphragm will not let the hernia come up if the hiatas is not too big. ( It is working for me but everyday the hernia slides up while sleeping, i try to adjust it with my fingers for that I could breath properly and get some quality sleep which I was lacking for almost an year)
@@ShashankRai-pc2he thanks for responding! I can’t really feel my hernia physically with my finger to know where to push it down. I have heard about that water tip and will try it though. How much do you drink before jumping? Like a full glass?

life recovering exercise brilliant thanks so much. they should employ you here on the NHS as a consultant you are miles I mean 1000000x times better than the doctors here. they are awful and so poor in the UK its beyond belief.
I had a choking incident on a supplement Dec 17th which resulted in a hiatal hernia and now symptoms of GERD, no burning like reflux, just that constant feeling of something in the throat causing anxiety any time I need to eat. Saw my chiro for the manual movement of diaphragm and that took away all chest pain, but still feeling of something in the base of the throat 24 hours a day. Any working out tends to set me right back to square one. Really wreaking havoc on quality of life and causing depression. Medical doc says PPI's for life (but I had an accident, not overweight or bad diet causing GERD) and no acid burning at all. I will try these and keep following for hiatal hernia tool, this is no way to experience life.
Go with your gut and these don’t always clear up in a few visits. My guess is there may have been a weakness already in the hiatus. Keep at it with chiro at least 2-3 a week then slowly cut down as you improve.

I was diagnosed with a 2cm hiatal hernia a few weeks ago after an endoscopy. Symptoms started suddenly about 2 months ago after I worked out. Got the adjustment for the first this afternoon by a chiropractor and I instantly felt relief. However, I experienced mild heartburn and the feeling that something was stuck in my throat just a few hours after the adjustment. Is it normal for the hernia to go back up so quickly? Does this mean that future adjustments will lead to the same result and I will have to get surgery for it to stay or will the symptoms eventually subside for longer periods of time with multiple adjustments?
If you bent down , have poor posture , strain on toilet , lift something heavy and don’t breath properly or can re herniate. You need to strengthen the diaphragm
Doctor Kull, the position laying back on the floor facing up brought acid back to my esophagus, producing pain. I don't understand, if you have hiatla hernia and that acid comes up, it makes sense that acid would come back up, then why do this exercise if is going to cause the same problem?
