Let's hope that Lego Technic Heavy-Duty Tow Truck 42128 will also be one of the best tow trucks of all time. Rumours say it has pneumatics so it has some potential :)
@@Unbrickme I was hoping for some motorized functions but I guess pneumatics is pretty cool as well (finally after 3 years!). I think the tow truck has the potential to be one of the best sets of 2021 but I guess we'll have to wait and see.
@@Unbrickme 1. Ctrl+ on sets that have good ppp are greater than 200 dollars, that is a commandment of the time. 2. A pneumatic valve system is like a gearbox, without the gears, and also realistic unlike a function-switching gearbox
Charles Kogan ideally, it should have three things, a motor, a function switching gearbox, and pneumatics. Gearbox could switch between pneumatic pump and outriggers, for example
The logging truck was my first big technic set ever i lost the parts but went through the 1 week journey of swarchibg every single part out of my lego boxes (i have 14) and rebuilt it :)
I think personally that the reason for some less functional sets costing a lot is licensing. The ferrari for example was one of the brands most well known race cars. And so was the porche for that company. Licensing could be a big factor in the price of these sets.
The Lego Unimog is because I talked with someone from lego technic team back in around 2006. We started lego truck trial and I showed my Man Cat 6x6 and convinced them to make a offroad truck set 😃
This kinda makes me sad to see that I don’t own any of these really old extremely cool trucks. On the other side I’m happy to own the unimog and the arocs
Awesome video; I really do think we need a colour or barcode sensor for powered up, not just the boost one. It would bring so many new control possibilities to models!
Will the mercedes zetros come with an audio system and make sounds like real rc truck kits?? then u have to make that the first lego truck of all time..lol
I got into lego technic because of the awesome trucks. I need to find a concrete truck and the volvo articulated loader when I get some time to head to the lego store.

ho, that's nice but you forgot the lego technic tow truck 8285, and will you upload this list when the lego techinic 42128 will be launch? and can you make a video of the 42128 truck set, in my opinion will be an very good set 🤩🤩🤩
Yeah I definitely should’ve put the 8285 on this list! I think the 42128 will be a good set, I will definitely make a video about it when it gets revealed
Sure, thank you very much! The Land Rover defender is a pretty good set. For a pretty reasonable price, you end up getting some pretty advanced mechanisms like the speed transmission gearbox. The set captures the essence of old lego technic, while still keeping the look of modern day lego Technic sets
The VOLVO articulated hauler is great excapt the main driving motor doesn't have enough torque. The value is great and the gearbox is really cool. Apart from the motor being too weak it is a really good set. ☺
REQUEST: 10 BIGGEST sets remixed (with extra info) first includes speed transmission, muti-directional, RC function gearbox, and more. second included legendary, pieces,..... third included 1 pick with another 2 or 3.
You need to stop comparing prices from distant years without taking inflation into account ! $100 in 2010 is worth $122 in 2020 for example, that is 22% difference !
You should have 4 technics lists: 1)technic models with the best functions (this video), 2) technic models with the best value, 3)technic models the most beautiful to look at, 4)technic models with the most scale features
@@Daniel-nh7xj Ok. Im planning to build tank, but I even dont know what kind of tank. You can wait for arrival of mine first full review on Sunday 18 th April
For prices, you have to take inflation into account, the older something is the bigger price difference and it isn’t a fair comparison with the newer sets
I was actually wondering how the barcode scanner worked, as it's not like you could make your own barcodes as a kid. So how were people able to "program" it?
I've been into Lego Technics during the 90s, and by getting the 8462 'Super Tow Truck' and assembling it i suddenly grew out of the whole thing. A nice one for your personal Lego craze to go out on really. But i can still appreciate these products for what they are nonetheless. However i gotta say, i absolutely hate those aerodynamic plating / outer shell pieces on the more modern sets, completely goes against the "after being done with the official stuff, build your own!" notion these are supposedly for.
i dont think that the old technic sets from under 2010 should be considered. they arent selling it anymore and even if you were to find it, it would be higher than the sian
Good video! I just put batteries in my stuff and staged them for display. I forgot how cool the Volvo Loader was. Altho not a "truck", I think that's one of the best sets in recent memory. Plus having 4 motors, including a servo motor that was only in one other set. Defineatly some good bang for the buck.
Thank you! Nice! Honestly I think the new Volvo articulated hauler is much better, since it includes much more pieces, it’s better detailed, and it has a fully motorized and remotely controlled speed transmission gearbox
@@Unbrickme Well, the loader was full remote also, 4 wheel drive, I thought it was designed fairly well. I'm not too familiar with the Articulated Dump but worked on the real ones. It is pretty spot on visually. Not sure how it steered, whereas it should have been like the loader. I'm not a fan of the gearboxes, I think thats just a way to reduce the amount of motors in the sets. Like the BWE, instead of a single XL motor, and literally feet worth of drivetrain, they could have used a large for each of the tracks, an XL for the rotation and material belt and a large for the wheel. Slapped 2 IR receivers in it , and made it full remote. Dumped a lot of the gimmick railing and fluff pieces, like the dump truck and made a really worthy model. But, they went the cheap route and added 1 motor and 600 parts that just made it fall flat on its face. Retailed for $279, but had they done the 4 motors I would have paid $300 to $320 for it no problem.
I agree the Volvo l350f wheel loader is definitely a good set, I just don’t think it’s legendary. I specifically remember being kin of upset with the Volvo loader back in 2014, since I thought it was basic with little cool mechanisms. Now with the arocs, crawler crane of 2015, CLAAS tractor of 2016, and even the bucket wheel excavator of 2016 all MASSIVELY impressed me at the time. Each set was unique and had lots of cool mechanical mechanisms! Sure the bucket wheel excavator would’ve cooler if remotely controlled, but to be honest, unless the RC vehicle has a gearbox, I prefer just 1 motor controlling everything, for the most part. I definitely make exceptions for sets like the 2007 motorized bulldozer, cars, and the "cheap" $100-$130 rc sets like the off road buggy
The mixer truck is definitely a good set but honestly I have a problem sometimes I think people get their head wrong and make a mistake that's what happened to me 2 times as a matter of fact one day I just destroyed the mixer truck because it was having some problems it wasn't moving right and it would stop in a few seconds and I would hear gears Click the second time though the same problem but I am attempting to do the third try since I'm a little older and since because of my mistakes hopefully it doesn't happen again because I'm missing pieces to this because I destroyed it again
Unbrickme@ what about the 42098 it's a car transporter (the only in technic) he i about a meter a he can load to 5 car's (i think) he have over 2k parts and costs 150€ and thats a good deal in my opinion
@@Unbrickme well, first it's a replica then the suspension and wheel is good and the pneumatics too. i also have the liebherr 9800, a fucking marvelous set. Lego did a good push forward with this set.
I liked the Mack anthem better than the car transporter, Trucks I own 1. Blue, white and Orange Heavy duty tow truck 2. Grey, white and greenMack Lr 3. Black logging truck 4. Blue concrete mixer truck 5. Yellow container truck Plus I hated the car transporter truck set 2019 Lego technic was the worst year ever
hello, thank you for this video, I don't speak English but I think the same thing as you :-) But for the 42008 trucks, and the 8052 I don't agree with your ranking at all!! the 8052 is empty, with mechanics close to nothing and a banal design and 70 dollars is expensive! the 8282 is much more elaborate and mechanically complex for the same number of parts. the 42008 is beautiful with interesting functions, but from a technical point of view, it is an absolute failure! the gameplay is catastrophic, the set is very messy, some functions are useless, and the gears creak horribly! This is the best example not to follow for Mocer. The common point between these two sets, they were made by Alfred Pedersen. I am very surprised that you did not mention the 8109 which has only two functions, but which are among the most complex and magnificent that lego have ever created.
You've got to be joking. The Unimog and the Volvo hauler are two of the most disappointing Technic sets. Unimog steering was a joke, heavy and with a mile wide turning circle. The Volvo suspension is all wrong, the automatic gears barely work and it's a Control + set which automatically disqualifies it from any Best Set lists...
This guy demonstrates exceptional ignorance regarding basic concepts of inflation, and bias as the metrics he uses to measure and quantify these sets are based on how "awesome, insane, or blue" they are to his liking.
Well i didnt formulate it right tbh , but i think the order is wrong , but because you have a different opinion is not worng aber imo the order makes no sense (good video though)
