OMG everything I couldn't stand back in the day is back! Shoulder pads of any kind, bomber jackets, bright white, fluffy napped materials, oversized silhouettes, strongly structured clothing 🤦♀️. I am definitely in for corporate chic aesthetic and business suits FINALLY coming back 🤗.
I know, I only like those baggier and giant shouldered pieces very strategically mixed in with more fitted things. The annoying thing is that most Westernized countries are a little overweight at this point, so coming in with oversized giant clothes, or all white clothes, that just make us all look bigger is kind of an insult! 🤷♀️ Sigh. We’ll save money on clothes this season? 😂
Same here! I want to wear oversized silhouette because everyone’s wearing it but I just look frumpy and unkept, and the oversized shoulder pads rob me of my neck length, I look slightly hunched back.
I remember the 80’s and what we called here in Ohio, “‘MALL BANGS’”. I wore them, but I have naturally curly hair and STILL had to tease and spray to get that hair BIG! I was also all about the neon colors, fuschia, chartreuse, bright aqua. Love your jacket by the way! Awesome shoulder pads!😊
I love chartreuse and haven't found any in a decade or so. It wakes my face right up so fingers crossed! I would be fine with late '80s/early '90s hair coming back. I also have naturally curly (thick/coarse) hair, but am flat ironing it as it's shorter. I'm tired of all the styling and just want to use a gallon of gel and diffuse like when I was young. I never did the mall bangs, but grown women would stop me in the store and ask exactly how I got my hair to look the way it did or who permed it. It literally just grew out of my head that way. 😂
I have very small, bony shoulders but I’m sticking to a puff sleeve over a shoulder pad. Also I’ve never stopped wearing my white tanks (and black too) since the 90’s! It’s been my daily staple for years. 😃🥰
I’m excited about bright red or molten red, pink, and purple/lavender. I love those colors and those colors remind me of growing up in the 80s and it brings such joy to my heart it makes me smile when I wear them! I cannot wait to find pieces that are affordable that still look absolutely stunning!

I like incorporating bold colours in my look by using nail polish. I love the pop it gives to my hands. And since I have to wear fairly classic and neutral clothes at work (headmistress of a nursery and kindergarten school), it let’s me have just a wee bit of playfulness shine through.

When we were younger whenever the Sears, Penney, or Spiegel catalogs came, we would fight over who got to look at it first. It was so exciting to see all the new fashions that were going to be in! Oh the good old days. Now it's vlogs! Lol
One of the best tips on here. You don’t have to look good in the color to wear as an accessory. Luuuuv that. Another great tip for matching is using a color wheel! Any contrast colors opposite of the wheel go together or three shades on either side of the color. Wonderful reference guide. Embrace color! 🫶🏽

Erin, I started watching your chanel a few months ago. We were planning a move to New York and I wanted to dress more stylish. You have totally changed the way I think about outfits. Being native Texan I do too also cowboy boots. I happen to live in Central America in a tourist town so I dont look odd...one would think I would but I dont or maybe I am just that self confident. I like fringe.
I still have nightmares about 80's fashion, ugh! It is not very flattering for the most part. I know some people love it, but I won't be revisiting this trend again. I love your show and your style! You can wear anything and look fabulous! ❤

Great video as usual Erin! I don’t mind baggier oversized trends, but I feel like on my body (and honestly on those skinny models too) that *everything* oversized makes us just look…big. And a little bit like a hobo from a distance. 😂 I like the mix of the baggy jacket with slim jeans and boots, or a wide leg baggy jean with a close fitting top. Lots of good pieces to choose from!
For this Fall, I've already purchased a fuzzy sweater, a couple of oversized blazers (but not too much since I'm petite), leather bomber jacket, a bright pink sweater, and lug sole shoes. Oh, the 80s...my sister and I would spend so much time and money on trying to get our fine hair to style BIG.
I appreciate your expanding the understanding of 'fashion' & why we indulge... A friends definition of 'Trends' has stayed w/me & in my opinion still holds true: "The interpretation of 'fashion' helps us to know where we are "In the stream of Time"... " Everything Old is New again"... The modification of silhouette, fabrication etc, will represent the... 'Moment au Courant' 😘😍💕

There's a need to be careful with fuzz and volume. I am happy about the pink though. What a nice color against the face. I would try that sleek wave neckline too.

I LOVE your jacket. I am a C-D cup and I found a great t-shirt bra form Jockey believe it or not for white tanks. Great price point too! I am here for the 80's looks. Even fuller hair. Not high but full. I hate plastered straight hair to the face. So aging.
