10 Best one & done Marvel Omnibus

With Marvel Omnibus we all have our favourites, but when it comes to the all in one, one in done volumes that contain a full run beginning to end, which one is the best? Here's my list of my top 10 in case you're a beginner who doesn't want to have to buy multiple volumes!
I love making video about Omnibuses, whether it be Marvel or DC Comics, and sometimes we don't want to wait years for the next volume, so I hope you enjoy this one! Let me know what you think in the comments below!
If the audio was a little iffy, it was an issue with the microphone that I didn't realise until after I'd filmed everything, so just enjoy looking at all the Marvel Omnibus instead!

Woof woof! Just a small correction, Jessica Jones was a brand new character that Bendis created for the series. Alias #1 is her first appearance ever.

Great list, thanks! For me Planet Hulk is number 1, probably my favourite Hulk story. I would love to see a DC list, and maybe a separate one for Vertigo/Black Label?

Not sure I could do a top ten but a few additional standout runs for me are: Peter David on the Hulk Fantastic 4 by Jonathan Hickman Sensational She-Hulk by John Byrne Silver Surfer by Ron Lim & Jim Stalin Hawkeye by Matt Fraction Vision by Tom King Other Marvel runs I really like are Spider-Man by J. M. DeMatteis (Kraven’s Last Hunt and Spectacular Spider-Man), Hercules Prince of Power by Bob Layton and Iron Man by Romita Jr and John Byrne (again). Not sure if these are all collected yet.

I believe the Alias omnibus (the new printing) is available now. I just got my copy a few months ago and read it a few weeks ago. Loved it! Loved learning about Jessica Jones

Thank you mate, and for checking out the DC one also! Planet Hulk can still be found for cover in a few shops, and admittedly there was an OHC that had the majority of the story, so hopefully you can pick that up, but I'm with you on Gotham Central! Thanks for watching the video mate! WOOF WOOF!

Watched this to get some ideas as to which omnibus to get next, and was so happy to see I already had Mark Waid’s FF, Millar’s Ultimates, Vaughn’s Runaway’s, and Astonishing X-Men ! ⭐️

I'm a big fan of the Hawkeye by Matt Fraction Omnibus. Cool list, Im looking forward to the Jessica Jones reprint. I sold my first printing off many moons ago. I hope they reprint that Darth Vader omni, I missed out on that

Whedon’s X-men is an amazing read. The tension between Cyclops and Wolverine is cliche but Whedon makes it fun again. Every character seems to go through their own journey except Wolverine which is disappointing.

So many books we have in common when it comes to good one and done books. Planet Hulk, Ultimates, Runaways, Darth vader by Gillen. ALIAS. Astonishing! (Do we have the same library?) All of which reads incredibly fluently! Great video mate!

I liked some arcs in Gillen's Vader but Vader Down was just ridiculous. Made no sense for those imp walkers to be dropped on Hoth. Might as well have just sent Vader in on his own... Was too up and down as well as just plain ridiculous in places. Some parts did not feel like Vader at all too.

Jessica Jones is created by Brian Michael bendis alias was her first book it wasn't that the company didn't have any faith in her, she just literally didn't exist before

Thanks, you convinced me to get the Deadpool cable book. Next video idea; a top 20 of OHC/Omni from 2010 or later. A lot of comic fans are put off by older stuff, and I personally like modern stuff more, but there’s a lot off stories or series I’ve never heard off. My last recommendation was I hate fairyland and I’ve finished both books in a weekend... would love more of that stuff

@@MaddoggComics not really sure if it’s just me, but I only recently got into comics, Started with a lot of tpb/epic collection of only spider-man. Sold almost all and gotten OHC/Omni and single issues, buying singles got me into non marvel stuff. So I’d say it’s good to get a inventory of what people want from your channel. One of the things that’s on my list is “Chew” and I’m hoping to get all spider-man/Deadpool trades for a reasonable price.

Am late to this but this is a great video. I have most of these and have even read some of them. The great thing is the ones I’ve read on this list - Alias, Astonishing X-Men, Thor by WS - I absolutely love which bodes well for the rest. Have never read a Hulk comic but based on the above, if I can get Planet Hulk for a decent price will give it a go given your strong recom.

Great video bro! I do love a good self-contained, single volume book that doesn't outstay its welcome. I know I'm not alone there! Some great picks on here, a lot of which I still need to read! But I couldn't agree more with your top pick. One of my favourite Marvel runs, I read it in singles, and it was my first omnibus. It really is a great jumping on point and highly accessible, which is why I got on so well with it at first. But it holds up so well on re-reads, which I think proves that there's so much more to it than its accessibility factor. Keep up the great work! WOOF WOOF!

Good video! I'm curious if you ever got the chance to read X-Statix. I know the omnibus is OOP, but it's one I personally lov. Plus it's written by Peter Milligan and I know how you've mentioned how you wanted to highlight more brits in comics on your channel.

Maddogg, Kieron Gillen’s Darth Vader omnibus is getting a reprint in 2022. I’ve read this run but I will definitely be picking up the omnibus.

I love mark waid but the guy is considered to be the best fantastic four writer by a majority of fans. He's not underrated. He's an amazing writer and he gets a lot of credit for it

I just brought the Mighty Thor omni second hand and waiting for to get it by mail. I just expect to be disapointed now. You and Comic Tropes and also think Nermint Comics and Gem Mint Collection have just praised to the sky. But i am still totally hype for finally reading it. :D Btw it is also my first omnibus ever. So i am locking forward to hold, see and just fell how that kind of collection fells to have or if i gonna like that kind of format. O_O Btw btw. Maddogg keep the good work going. I find your videos very informative. :D

Great list, great video. I prefer the one-and-done omnibus. I get tired of something when it spans 3 volumes, i have to go take a break for a few days in between.

I got the AXM issues when it was coming out and loved them. I got the omnibus reprint last year. I’ve not read it yet, but hoping I can separate the “art from the artist”. A shame that now before I read it I have to repress the baggage that comes with it.

Planet Hulk is a amazing read. The ending does tug at the heart strings which I never imagined from a Hulk story. All though World War Hulk I feel like is a bit of a let down with the build up from Planet Hulk. I also don't enjoy the art as well.
