02:45 - The University library in Leuven was designed by the American architect Whitney Warren in the Neo-Flemish Renaissance style. It was built in the 1920s, replacing the medieval library that was destroyed during the First World War. The new building was financed with donations from American universities. Henry Van de Velde designed the library of Ghent University (the so-called 'Book Tower').
Not sure Waterloo is really worth a dedicated visit (unless it's on your way). I'd rather advise visiting Tournai, which has more to offer (such as its World Heritage cathedral recognized by UNESCO, it was also the first capital city of the Frankish kingdom). American tourists also like visiting WW1 and WW2 places, such as Ypres (Flanders battlefield) and Bastogne (Battle of the Bulge).
