No such thing as the ''turkish republic of northern cyprus'' as it's not recognised, due to Turkey's invasion and occupation of the northern area of Cyprus. The Republic of Cyprus is what is internationally recognised, a member of the Commonwealth, in fact the whole of Cyprus is regarded as the Republic of Cyprus. Strictly speaking, you should not be promoting the northern area of Cyprus as it's under occupation, stolen land. Although the whole of Cyprus is beautiful, you should only be promoting the recognised legitimate area of Cyprus until the Cyprus problem is resolved
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment/share your knowledge. We can't change the video now, but your comment here serves to show people your viewpoint, perhaps therefore educating people who would not have known should we have not included it in the video? Ideally, we do not want to get into "politics" and thus would like to do our best to avoid highlighting areas like this in the future. We just want to share amazing places around the world! Thanks again. Explorable.
Just look to the mountains there should be a beautiful Turkish flag that has been looking down on you for the last 50 years lmao 🤣 North Cyprus will be Turkish forever fact.. 😂
Hi - nice video on places to visit, just wanted to correct you on Place 5 - Hala Sultan Tekke is not the third holiest site in Islam, it is Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem - 'The Farthest Mosque'.
Hey, I really appreciate your comment. The Hala Sultan Tekke is obviously an important and highly revered site but yes, Mecca's Al-Masjid al-Haram (including the Kaaba), Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina, and Al-Masjid al-Aqsa, or the Temple Mount, in Jerusalem are probably the holiest sites? I do my best to research everything in my videos but clearly got this a little wrong. 🙏 Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
The only real nature they have in Greek Cyprus is Akamas Peninsula and Troodos . The coast is over commercialised fir tourism . Most beaches aren’t very natural . The best part of it is the history .
North Cyprus is Turkish and has been for the last 50 years and will remain Turkish till the very end of time, seen as the Greeks are not going to do anything about it clearly lol 😂 Mark my word the great great great grandchildren of the Cypriot Greeks will se north Turkish Cyprus lmao. Do something otherwise stop talking and get over your terrible horrendous loss…
Thank you for watching. It happened due to inexperience, school boy error. It was one of the first videos I ever made, hopefully, I've become better at my pronunciation!
Protaras too.. & others 😂. I always wondered how people spend time to make a video, about anything & yet get the pronunciations wrong - the first thing that should be researched. I went to college in Nicosia early 2000’s, we visited every single corner of Cyprus. Best memories!
@@StellaAdler_ Even with research, I get it wrong! 🙈My mum is French, and yet I STILL managed to make mistakes in my video on France! One day, if I can grow the channel big enough, I will outsource the voiceover to a professional 😅
great video.! Tho not much mention of the county's division. I've vacationed there 3 times, but never had an opportunity to go to the Turkish side. I'd be interested in How to go there.
you can cross in Nicosia and you go through no man's land which are actually houses that are forcefully abandoned.... quite the unusual thing to see, and also very sad if you ask me... Kyrenia or Famagusta are in turkish area too, you can book an excursion there
I try to keep politics etc. out of the videos and only highlight the amazing places around the world to visit. Sometimes it's impossible to do that though, like in this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6Am0qH60WWc.html
@@explorable365 You can talk about people's lives on both sides, as an idea and you avoid politics that way. The divide changed so much and greatly affected people's lives, for me it gave the place another dimension.
My wife and I lived in the Polis area of Cyprus for 10 years and we've thoroughly enjoyed this video showing places we used to visit regularly. We are still amazed by how many people refer to Paphos as Pathos. It is pronounced Pafos. only a small complaint though. Excellent video.
Glad you enjoyed it and it brought you some nostalgia/memories 😊 Hopefully I’ve improved my pronunciation of places throughout creating more videos 😅😅 Thanks for watching!
Nice video. Would be nice to have name of the place instead of place #1 or place #2 in time table. I realize it’s not easy to pronounce Greek words correctly. Seeing them in writing help. Thank you
I completely agree! However, I do have a very specific reason why I don’t do that and unfortunately, it trumps naming. I do have the named places at the start of the section of the video though 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting 😀
Everything you see there is greek and venisians heritage,is nothing turkish,we admire the Roman,Greek, and venician heritage,300years occupation from ottomans, the only they care is by sword forces people to convert islam
I do my absolute best to pronounce places correctly, often looking online to try to be as accurate as possible. That said, what I hear and how it comes out, doesn’t always match 😂😅🫣 I will continue to do better and improve 🤝🏼
