You forgot one of the most important reigns in wwe history; Lesnar on Summerslam 2002. Had decent matches and put Brock into the stratosphere and never looked back again.
Also, at Wrestlemania 31, Brock and Roman were having a hell of a match before Seth's cash-in. It was a much better match than anyone expected, especially given the build to it.
Honorable mentions: 1. Hart Foundation with the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1990. 2. Randy Orton with the WWE Championship in 2013. 3. Brock Lesnar with the WWE Championship in 2002.
When I watched this video, I began thinking of how often times throughout history, wrestling has oscillated between epic moments and consistent storytelling. An excellent example of this is SummerSlam 1992, when, according to Cultaholic, the number 1 title change among all title changes occurring at SummerSlams was Davey Boy Smith winning the Intercontinental title from Bret Hart in Wembley, which was one of the most memorable moments in wrestling history. But then, Smith was nowhere to be seen on this follow-up list, due in part to a largely forgotten reign and a loss to Shawn Michaels for no other reason but to raise the stakes for Michaels' feud with Bret Hart. Was the lackluster reign worth the epic moment of the British Bulldog winning the title in front of a (kind of) hometown crowd? I suppose that is a matter of opinion.
Which is also one of THE most influential title wins in history ever. It set the stage for the career of one of most successful and impactful careers ever. It helped birth a superstar who still headlines major shows and still draws money over two decades later.
Dude you realize Cena actually let Brock win that match right you people are dumb. John Cena put Brock over Cena didn’t get squashed Cena wanted to put brock over because he beat the streak y’all are not getting that Cena is the goat at summerslam
I would say Priest's US reigns is fantastic 💚 The only thing that bothers me so much is the fact that he lost the title to Balor just for Finn to drop the belt to Theory with absolutely no reasons shortly after 😂
@@ahmadceasar5484 yeah man, I hate that 👍 I don't personally hate the idea of Balor joining Judgement Day with Priest, but it just felt so rushed and forced, especially after Balor helped Styles fight against them just a month before LOL
@@nhatlongvu8896 yea adding finn to judgement day has been excellent but literally the night before he joined them he was fighting them in a match with AJ and liv like it made no sense but the results have been great finn in the judgement day has been awesome it just came out of left field
Learners 14 run was solid, great matches and memorable moments and before part time champions felt like the norm. Idk if he deserves to be as high as he is in the list but definitely deserves to be there
I wouldn’t have put Brock in 2014 on this list either Adam patchete is a dick cause he forgets that John cena literally did that to help Brock become a star to put him over. Cause he beat the streak which was stupid Brock didn’t need that win. I still say cena should have won in 2014 brock wasn’t as great of a champion as John cena was
@@JLove2000swrestlingsomeone’s a Cena fan. Brock was headlining Wrestlemania before Cena was even remotely relevant and he came back with WAY more mainstream recognition than Super Cena ever had before he started making movies. Brock Lesnar was such a huge star that he headlined many of the highest grossing shows in MMA history. He was a big enough star that WWE damn near threw a blank check at him. Your statement’s just so laughably and objectively wrong.
@@Tyrone-v2r dude that doesn’t mean shit Brock left wwe because he was weak he couldn’t handle the schedule cena took over and became bigger then Brock ever could be and you saw Brock was jealous of John cena in 2012 that’s why he came back he wanted to face John cena Brock was never the face of wwe john cena was John cena is a bigger name then Brock lesnar can ever dream of being Adam patchete is an asshole he hates cena so he’s going to talk shit don’t listen to that
@@Tyrone-v2r the funny thing is Brock going to MMA cena was still a bigger star even when Brock was in the MMA that just tells you cena is the great all time and he’s better then Brock lesnar
Summerslam 2014 John cena actually let Brock win the match cena said he did it cause he wanted to help Brock get over and people don’t realize that cena is a bigger name then Brock ever will be
"Why didn't they book RKBRO to have one long uninterrupted reign?" ...Why is this seen as bad booking? They were in a multi-month feud with Alpha Academy, who needed at least SOME wins to keep the feud entertaining and fresh, and having a title run as part of that works fine. Or is it suddenly bad to have short reigns?
Is it bad to have short reigns? No. But inconsistent and convoluted booking is. Reigns reign would be terrible if he was given illogical and convoluted booking. Hogan’s reigns would’ve been just as terrible. The Rock had really short reigns that were some of the most important and successful in the history of the industry. Bad booking is bad booking regardless of the reign and constantly playing hot potato with the titles has almost never worked out.
Cesaro’s U.S title reign is so under appreciated That Neautralizer to Khali is still epic Gunther may be dominant, but Cesaro will always be the better performer in the ring
How about rvd beats Jeff Hardy for the hardcore belt in 2001. Coming out of that match he just became more popular and within 2 months he was in the wwe title match at no mercy still as hardcore champ, keeping it until losing to a big name in The Undertaker. Glad you put Warrior as ic champ here, when I was a kid he was THE intercontinental champion, he made it as big as the world title. When he faced Hogan at Mania they were both as big as each other and so were the titles.
There's too many modern reigns and matches in Cultaholic's lists anymore. The modern era of wrestling is the second worst era besides the New Generation era.
