I read The Death of Mrs Westaway earlier this year and this is my new favorite. While the twist was kinda predictable imo, the setting, the atmosphere and the writing style were all SO GOOD. Hal is also one of the best-executed main protagonists I have read in a long time. Definitely recommend!

I didn't understand the allure of the dark academia genre until I read Vita Nostra by Marina Dyachenko! Someone on goodreads described it as Harry Potter if it was written by Kafka and it was by far one of the most transcendent books I've ever read lol (definitely recommend for cozy vibes as well because it takes place in a small village in Russia!)

I LOVE ‘Rebecca.’ I read it earlier this year and watched the adaptation with Emilia Fox (which is AMAZING!). I always feel that ‘Rebecca’ is incorrectly labelled as a ghost story. It’s not a ghost story. It’s much more psychological than that.

Rebecca and If We Were Villains are both amazing reads. The Raven Boys books are wonderful but I had trouble keeping track of all the characters and their backstories in the first book. Each book chooses different characters perspectives and as the series progressed I found myself more immersed in them.

The Shining by Stephen King is incredible! Although, i don't think much of the second in the sequel Doctor Sleep. I also cannot wait to read Hollowpox by Jessica Townsend wooo!!

This Savage Song was the 1st Victoria Schwab book I read and I could not put it down. Absolutely loved it and it's a duology. The 2nd book is Our Dark Duet. I recommend getting it also because you will want to find out what happens to these characters.

I don't know whether you have read it or not since I'm to your channel but 7 deaths of Eveline Hardcastle is great. The plot is brilliant and it's basically a mystery with a pinch of fantasy. Also the scenery described perfectly it really puts you into the mood of the book. However an important heads up there is some type body shaming into the book so...

I’ve read Rebecca and plan to reread it. It’s a good suspense, but there is no hint of an actual haunting or Rebecca’s actual presence. You might be disappointed if you go in hoping for that, but I think it’s really good. I like it a lot better than My Cousin Rachel.

Have you read Spirit Hunters by Ellen Oh? A paranormal story about an old house, possessions, and talk of exorcisms. It is a middle grade. I am reading it for the readathon you are hosting. I checked it out from the library, am halfway through, and am now waiting for my own copy to be delivered from Amazon. Loving it.
