Two of them are the same as yours: Circle of Life (my favorite book ever!) and Ritas Land book. I also would like to complete Country Charm by Theresa Goodridge and Maria Trolles Universum.
I can totally relate to what you were saying about not wanting to color your favorite pages and 2 page spreads! I am the same way! Plus, I don't want to mess up one of my favorite pages so I tend to not color them. Which really doesn't make sense lol! Seasons was my first Hanna Karlzon book too! There's a 2 page spread with frogs and mushrooms, and I love it! Lucy Just Adds Colour has a color along video for this 2 page spread, but I'm still scared to color it! Sometimes I have a hard time getting started, but if I pick something on the page to color that I already know what color I am going to use, then the rest usually goes smoothly. It's just getting over that first hump and getting started!
Yep! 3 of the list I answered with are on the way: Alien Worlds by Rosanes(I love everything space and alien scifi related), Fairy Miracles by K Markova; and also Christine Karron’s Wildflower Folk because I love portraits as I also draw them myself. My World of Flowers is also an on-going WIP as an Art Journal with mixed media add-ons and poems and my own writing on various themes
@@studioandromedawn4838 I have Fairy Miracles by Klara Markova! I know you'll love it! It's such a cute book! And I love how well made her books are! I kept mine in the bubble wrap and packaging that Klara sent it in for the first few months after I got it because it's so beautiful and I was so worried that the cover would get scratched or messed up in some way! It took me 3 months to get the courage to color in it because I didn't want to mess up! Smh! 😆
Beautiful pages in beautiful books. I need to be brave and color in my Kerby and Mythographics books. Your work is so inspirational ❤ i too love bright colors.
Stunning works of art you have created! So impressed!! I tend to start coloring my least favorite pages because I don’t want to chance messing up the ones I like 😂 thanks for sharing
if one day I could color something at least 0,001% as well as you do I would be a very happy colorist in life. Wonderful works, all so vibrant and alive. Great work Shel. If I someday would achieve the miracle of finishing one book would be: colin thompson´s coloring book, mouse guard or 100hugs(this one is small maybe theres a chance lol!) thanks for sharing.
A really interesting video with some great books selected, I doubt I'll ever finish a book, I'm just so slow at colouring, and I have so many books. Great to see yours, xx👍❤
Your style of coloring really brings out the best in Rita Berman! I’m a big fan of hers too and I just love how you work with her drawings. ❤ I’m trying to complete a Million Sloths by Lulu Mayo.
I love all your completed pages! Absolutely stunning! Yes I agree with you that when you find a book that you love you want to save the pages. I have a few books like that. I also love the Nelco Neco book and love it so much I don't ever color in it!🥰
Thank you so much! And I am so glad that I’m not the only one who likes to save pages 😂 I hope you eventually managed to colour in Nelco Neco, it’s a lovely book and so much fun to colour 🤗💗
I just love these flip throughs. When I started coloring in 2016 I bought too many books. I was new and it was too overwhelming. I could never pick a page to do because there were soooo many choices. So I stopped coloring. I just started up again and only own a few books. I'm looking to expand my collection and these flip throughs help so much! It's so helpful to see how a completed page could look, especially on these very complex pages
I can imagine how overwhelming it can be with so many choices out there!! But I am so glad you have got started on your journey and I hope you are able to enjoy it more this time round! Definitely helps having a smaller collection of books, BUT so hard to stick to a small collection 😂 there are too many beautiful books to ignore! But I am glad these videos help you pick the ones you will enjoy yourself! Thanks for watching 🤗💗
I just ordered that same book from Tomislav Tomic a couple of days ago and it will arrive on August 8th! I cannot wait! I LOVE his work! He's one of my top 3 favorite illustrators!
Oh! I am sure you will love that book!! Let me know how you feel colouring in it…such lovely paper and just makes it all the more enjoyable to colour in his book 🤗💗
Beautiful books and I really love the pages you coloured! It is really nice to see the progress you made in your colouring. You are a real inspiration for me. I also use a Hannah Carlzon colouring book (SummerNights) to experiment in, I really love her illustrations and the paper is very good. I would like to complete that book one day.
Thank you so much, so glad you like my colouring! You are right, Hanna Karlzon’s work is stunning and the lovely quality of her books just helps the experimenting and enjoyment process for sure! Summernights would look beautiful completed!! 🤗💗
Thank you so much! We have definitely not done a buddy colour because I don't take them on too often (because of being so slow at colouring haha). But yes! Sure if you are up for it let me know....maybe not for September. Message me if you decide to go for it 🤗💗
Aww I'd love to see you complete Kerby's WWW, it's still my favourite and I totally understand what you mean about slowing down as it fills up so you don't finish. I do miss working in that book. I'd love to finish Melpomeni's Enchanted Earth, Flowerscape in Paradise and Meine Reise durch Asien.... plus Mythomorphia, Geomorphia, Fragile World, Alien World.... basically all the books hahaha😂 Love your work Shel 🤍🤍
Thank you, it means so much coming from you! I have admire your work ever since I saw your Dragon Eye page in WWW and followed it! You are such an inspiration and I always look forward to seeing what you have coloured!! I look forward to seeing more completed books from you in the future, it’s an amazing list you have there. But seeing you managed to complete WWW, I have no doubt there will be more completions in the future 🤗💗 thanks for being so inspiring 🤩
Great video, Shel! As usual. Love your picks(all of which I too own a copy). My Top 10 Books To Complete: Alien Worlds by Kerby Rosanes Mythographic Voyage Flora by Maria Trolle Fairy Miracles by Klara Markova(I have finished all the book’s backgrounds in water colors) Wildflower Folk by Christine Karron Dinosaurs by William Stout(EXCELLENT quality of drawings and paper) World of Flowers by Johanna Basford (which I am turning into one of my crossover mixed media coloring book/art journals) Girls Around The World(Korean book-Etsy) which I love especially because it has a Panamanian girl in traditional dress “La Pollera” which has won awards in beauty contests for best traditional dress; and I am Panamanian American 🙂) Rabbit Fantasy Fairytale Japanese coloring book Tomoko Tashiro’s Fashion Museum Bonus: Nelco Neco’s Modern Girl & Cats(toooo cute!), and Vintage My Room(which I am having spiral bound because it’s binding is coming loose and it is just too beautiful and quirky to let that happen). Thanks for your input!
PS: I too think the eyes on her fairies are a bit lacking in “something “….so, being a “drawist” myself (my term!), I just take my fineliner 0.1 mm Pigma Micron and “adjust” the faces etc to my own liking. 🙂
Ooooh I love your list of books....beautiful list of books there. I may have to check out the Dinosaurs book you mentioned especially as you said excellent quality and paper!! Sadly, I wasn't a fan of the Nelco Nero modern girl and cats book....I hope if she comes out with a new book, it will be more like her first one! Love that one. Thanks for sharing your books, it was so nice to see what others have on their list 🤗💗
We all understand aspirations and know you will eventually do it.❤I have artists books I would like to do justice to their beautiful images. Momo girl,Anastasia Koldareva, Grazia Salvo and Daria Song are some of my favorites. 😊
Oh wow!! Those books would look stunning completed! I don’t own any of them (probably because I am too intimidated by them haha) , but I have always admired them. Thanks for sharing 🤗💗
Interesting choices. I'm with you on the Klara markova books. I would love to complete one of those but I don't see it happening. I don't want to rush or color a page that doesn't speak to me. Tfs.
Totally agree with you there!! Love taking my time with my pages and usually dive into the pages that grab me, rather than force myself to colour pages I am not feeling at that moment. Thanks for watching 🤗💗
Everytime i hear you talk i say to myself i love this ladys accent, but than i never type it cus i am affraid to offend people. BUT i love it and your colouring so i thought you should know ^^ Also your colouring is gorge
Ahh thank you so much 😂 don't worry, not offended at all! I have quite a mixed up/confused accent I think....brought up in Kenya, and then spent lots of time in Canada and UK during my student years. So I think my accent got all confused 😂 Glad you like my pages, thank you! Oh yes, a whole page with FC polys, including a background especially, will definitely make your wrists hurt! Just play around and I am sure you will find what works for you...so many options for basing - watercolour pencils, soft pastels, distress inks, watercolour paints, neocolor IIs.....lots for you to play with and see what works for you 🤗💗
I'm a very slow colorist as well! I try to tell myself before I start coloring a page that I'm not going to mess around and I'm going to get it done as fast as possible, but somehow I always manage to take forever! I have mild OCD so I'm a perfectionist and I focus too much on making every tiny detail as perfect as I can possibly get it, and in the words of Lucy from Lucy Just Adds Colour, I keep "fluffing with it" LOL!
Lol!! Well I am glad I am not the only one who is slow. And yes, I feel like I want everything to be perfect too, but I think I enjoy the process most….so I tend to be able to look past some of the “fluff ups” 😂💗
@@shelscolouringjourney You do an awesome job of making every detail look perfect! I was doing a page in Melpomeni's new book Enchanted Earth and I messed up on one of the flowers majorly and I tried to fix it but it wasn't getting better no matter what I did so I decided to step away from that page for a bit and come back to it later! That usually helps me a lot in those situations!
Great selection shelly ! I couldn’t pick out 10 I love to many of my books ! It would be so nice to complete 1 book 😂😂😂 I have never done that as of yet ! My 2 year coloring anniversary was in July and wow I have grown 😂 you have to !!!! It’s it amazing ? So much fun and brings so much joy ❤
