Just a short question to Nate: Didn't you say in one of your great videos that some social media activities only consume time and lower productivity? 🤔
Hey brother. Really inspired by this channel since it’s hard to find other ppl in my social group that are interested in your content like me. Was just wondering if there’s a BOOK that lets you learn how to view current world events, and how one with an investing and economics mind can capitalize ? Thank you in advance.
Books recommended in the video 1-The Righteous Mind 2-Token Economy 3-How To Talk To Anyone 4-Narrative Economics 5-Option 6-Guns, Germs and Steel 7-Man's Search for Meaning 8-Valuation 9-1984 10-Blue Ocean
“Why We Sleep” by Matthew Walker was something I read earlier in 2021 and it quite literally changed the way I viewed sleep and it’s functions. I would often neglect sleep in place for staying up on my devices or watching tv but this just gave me a whole new perspective on the importance of sleep and what it’s really doing for the body. Definitely something everyone should read.
I freaked out when I saw the Righteous Mind first on your list!! Changed the way I view the world and made me 10x more understanding and compassionate. I'm actually re-listening to the audiobook right now lol. 10/10 would recommend to anyone thinking about reading it!!
I think the books that have impacted me the most this year are "The 12 Week Year" and "Make Time", have videos up for both of them 😀 Thanks for the great book list, Nate!
Thanks for sharing! I watch a lot of your vids, Ali Abdaal, and Graham Stephan, etc. worked for 1 year as an engineer, I quit and now I make WAY more playing Minecraft. Thanks for your inspiration and insight on life 👍 (Also, my favorite book of this year was “the subtle art of not giving a f###” big takeaway for me was lots of life anecdotes from mark manson that help to change stubborn mindsets/points of view)
Taming Your Gremlin by Rick Carson. This would be my "quake book" as people call it. An easy read into how to manage your thoughts and subconscious mind through this fun gremlin metaphor. I recommend it to anyone, the first edition I especially recommend to teens/YA.
1)About 5 to 10 RU-vid channels that you subscribed, "What you learn from them?" and so on. PLEASE! It is soo important. 2) Video especially for univer students.
Hey Nate! I watch almost all of the "financial youtubers" and most of them are good, but the way you so peacefully and simplicistically balance your life is something I aspire to be like. Thank you for a great and important video. Happy travels and happy life ✌
Yeah i want to live a quiet peaceful life like Nate doing what i love to do and do not want debt to control my time either. That is why i am working towards financial.independence.
I listened to the Narrative Economics audiobook earlier this year. It’s really good. Shiller is huge in economics but still a really humble guy. Skin In The Game by Taleb and Alchemy by Rory Sutherland were probably my two favorite reads of 2021.
I really want to read more in 2022! As a kid you basically never saw me without a book, but it seems hard to find the time these days. I think my favourite book I've ever read is Flowers for Algernon
@@julianbussells I could never get to grips with audio books! I like to flick backwards when I'm reading to remind myself of things. Or forwards if I'm impatient 😂
Hi Nate, Thank you for compiling this expansive collection. It would be so helpful if you would place a list of titles and authors in the description box. Happy New Year, all the best in 2022!
I started Robert Greenes new book “The Daily Laws” and I am enjoying that so far. Just reading a page per day as it is literally labeled for every day. I’m re-reading “Pitch Anything” by Oren Klaff which is a great book on pitches. Then “The Age of AI” by Henry Kissinger, Eric Schmidt. I’m also re-reading Think and Grow Rich. Based on my list here, you can imagine I appreciate the “Blue Ocean” recommendation and I picked up “Narrative Economics” as well
I've just started reading "Crime and Punishment" and I'm in for about 150 pages but I'm already really enjoying it and I think it's a good recommendation for everyone
Awesome, another book video! I love these. I particularly enjoy these videos from Nate because he has a diverse and unique set of books he recommends. I am a bit behind on the times, I'm sure, but the best book I read this year was Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker. It's perhaps the best book I've read from someone with a PhD in that it was both extremely informative and backed by research while at the same time presented in an easy-to-understand format.
Means a lot that you don't just suggest the most trending easy to read books that everyone has heard of. That you're willing to suggest intimidating textbook-like reads helps to feel that these are genuine suggestions that will provide actual value, which is hugely respected and greatly appreciated :)
this video is exactly what i needed at a time of turmoil. Im looking forward to the how to talk book the most and hoping it helps with this stutter of mine. Nate my man thank you brother
I've read financial books for 2 years and was obsessed with getting rich quick, wanting lots of money and all the things it can buy. I wasn't really thinking about my life purpose or anything like that until a friend recommended me a book called The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. In that book I realized that it's not about the money you have in your bank account, it's about the person you become until you have that amount of money. I recommend this book to anyone who is starting to learn about money.
I finally got around to The Richest Man in Babylon. It was great! Also I like to read from physical, paper books, I have found that using my drive time to listen to audiobooks is a big benefit.
I'm new to your channel and I'm impressed that you have Frankl's book on here. I read it during undergraduate class, and it literally changed my life. Love this channel by the way!
I would totally recommend “Influence: The Power of Persuasion” and “The Psychology of Money”, they were such an awesome read that I’d love to reread in future
I read more in 2021 than any year before and am so glad I did. Hoping to read even more in 2022 - so much power, knowledge, and value in books/reading.. While I primarily read non-fiction, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, a novel, was my favorite of the year. Funny and gripping, but also heartbreaking and profound. Would recommend to everyone. Educated by Tara Westover, a memoir, is my runner-up choice.. Adding some of these to my list. Great video Nate!!
I’m currently reading “Man’s Search for Meaning” for the second time and I’m so thankful I picked it up again but it’s changing my outlook in a positive way and also helping me be more grateful.
Great video! I'm always up to reading great books, these are a variety of selection and my type of books (I'm an introvert as well). I will definitely getting a few of these books.
We just finished reading about Blue Ocean Strategy in my business capstone class. It is great for out-of-the-box thinkers and verbalized some concepts that should be somewhat intuitive for today's business community. Great read!
Another great list, Nate. Thank you. I agree with many of your previous recommendations such as Quiet, Thinking Fast and Slow, and The Righteous Mind which you mention in this video, though I must admit to also liking One Up On Wall St. Have you read How Democracies Die?
I found ‘Talking to Strangers’, by Malcolm Gladwell, to be an incredibly thought provoking book. Really enjoyed your book list. Looking forward to listening to ‘Guns, Germs & Steel’. Thank you!! 📚 👍🏼
Amazing books! I Definitely will be putting these on my list for the new year. One book that I read in 2021 that I would highly recommended is the $100 startup by Chris Guillebeau.
I’m a delivery drive so I’ve been listening to audio books. I want to listen to 100 books this year. I have all the time in the world considering I work 60 hours+ some weeks. Finished “awaken the giant within” by Tony Robbins. I’m listening to “Can’t hurt me” by David Goggins. Love both. Will definitely read some of these! Thanks Nate!
Really interesting list! A girl I was talking to on Voicely sent me your video after I talked to her about Man's Search for Meaning, and now I want to read every book you mentioned
I finished How To Win Friends And Influence People and wow that book is amazing. It sounds kind of sad, a book on friends , but it’s also about just general people interactions and (I believe it is part three) Talks about how to win people to your way of thinking which is extremely helpful.
You are such an articulate, and amazing boy-no doubt from all the reading that you do. I would like to recommend a Russian writer who wrote a book that was the inspiration for Orwell’s 1984. The book is called We by Zamyatin. It was written in 1923 and is the ultimate dystopian novel. Happy New Year by the way.
so funny every time you get serious saying "THIs is a textbook" . Really Thankful for seeing the content which you upload which has a lot of value. and also thank you for sharing this book. I now have new options to include in my librarie. Happy new Year from the Canary Islands (spain).
I love how I did some research on books to read and ask for this Christmas and some of these I already read. The righteous mind is definetly one to read, just as 1984, it's sort of mind opening, if you realise when it was written and how people can guess the futur surprisingly correct and wrong. Limitless is still one of the best out there, if you haven't read it please it will change the way you think, read, focus, remember,... I started reading again 2 months ago, 30 pages a day, and it may seem a little but it's like 1 book en a week or two, it is really building the knowledge, I always wanted to have
Thank you for recommending and admitting to reading How to talk to anyone. As a big time introvert it really helped me too! I’m currently reading SPIN selling. I’d be interested to know if you’ve read it? If not, I’d recommend it. It discusses the research behind which sales techniques work and why they do, the psychology behind it etc
My goal this year is 1 book a month. It's nothing crazy but definitely pushes me to read more than I ever have before. Added some of these books to my list of 12! Thanks, Nate.
Hi Nate, Just wanted to say I love your videos and always find them helpful! Definitely putting "how to talk to anyone" on my list. Introvert here🙋♀️ but I do actually want to develop good friendships and have good interactions with others. In need of some practical tips.
