Hi! I have a kinda serious problem. I was in class and I fell on the back of my chair, hitting my head and my braces poked my bottom lip making a like piercing but the hole didn’t go to the outside. Its numb the next day, I tried putting something cold but I didn’t feel the coldness when I put it on my lip. I’m kinda scared what should I do? 😰

I know that shit hurts 😫 yeah I know they hurt freaking alot coz I too have them but remember those spacers, expanded, wires, bands and aligners they all are just a quiet tough obstacle we have to live with for few months or years for that beutiful teeth u gonna have 😀 so don't worry when u feel its unbearable cry a bit it will relieve u but just remember never to give up .. SO BE HAPPY AND FACE THE BRACES YOUR FREIND WHO HELPS U BUT ALSO HURTS U FOR YOUR OWN GOOD WITH CONFIDENCE 😊😊 thanks doc for the tips ✌
@@lilyrb11 for real 😭🙏 it stops after a couple days and if u have rubber bands remember to always keep them in, because if you just put them in sometimes they can hurt extra like when u take them out
i haver braces and i broke 6 brackets, a some tips 1. don't chew on any ice, or any gum, some freeze dried candy, or any gummy candies. may brake or bend brackets or wire. 2. eat freeze dried fruits like apple, bananas, pears, etc. 3. ask a ortho abt freeze dried candy or look it up. 4. stay away from biting any meatal items, will bend wires, brake brackets. 5. don't eat anything to crunchy, may brake brackets. have a nice day and that's all the tips I can give you today :)
I got a waterpik and a oral-b IO9, but my orthodontist says they are bad, and I should instead use a manual toothbrush and interdental brushes. I'm not sure why my orthodontist feels this way, but I'm 1000% sure my oral hygiene is better with an electric toothbrush. I don't like ignoring the orthodontist's instructions, but my oral hygienist says my brushing is fantastic, so I'm thinking to maintain my current waterpik (and interdental brushes) + oral b io9 routine. I tend to brush too hard when I use a manual brush.
i think they say the electric brush is bad because it’s hard to brush the gum with the brackets on your teeth and they want to make sure your gums stay healthy during treatment. But i use an oral b io too and i haven’t had a problem either

i'm getting braces in about a week and i'm *so* angry about it, because i *like* my teeth right now, i like my gaps (i can shoot water through them!) and i see no reason to 'fix' it (why spend so much money on something i have no problems with?), especially because it hurts so much. at least i have a good excuse to not talk to people i don't want to, i guess.
Do you actually get your braces on the first appointment or do you have to wait and have your last meal and then on your second appointment and then you get the braces
i’m meant to get my braces off on the 27th of Jan. I technically am but i’m only getting the top set off and i have to keep the bottom set on for a few more weeks because my teeth down there got misaligned. Was it the orthodontist’s mistake while trying to make final details or was it something i did?
it’s normal for the top set to come over slightly. i hav braces and im about to get them off but i had a severe overbite. they look for a slight overbite because if the teeth were perfectly aligned they wouldn’t be able to bite or work properly. ask if u hav concerns but it’s probably normal and looks good!!
A small overbite is healthy! I had the exact opposite...my front teeth used to come in contact too "vertically" and I didn't realize it...my top teeth broke (only the tip) and they have to put crowns on them...I'm currently wearing braces and have a temporary restoration so the teeth look good while under braces treatment...they need to create a bit of an overbite so I don't stress my front teeth again... Just had my first "adjustment" today and it feels so weird, the pressure is back again and hopefully will be gone in a few days...but I realized my teeth feel so "loose" whenever I bite down on anything, especially the front teeth...well...this means the braces are doing their thing, but at the same time it's so weird man xD

Just got power chains for the first time after skipping 4 straight appointments. I feel like I got them on for the first time + someone slapping me in my mouth. After taking a nap it felt wooorse I’m like damn did I do something?
“Eat before or shortly after adjustment”…. How bold of you to assume I can even eat 😂. I’m 4 months in, and cant bite or chew anything. Chewing hurts and biting, well thats like trying to cut an apple with dental floss, my teeth can’t pierce through anything. So my diet is basically anything that I can swallow whole with no chewing or biting involved.
If you have braces and you can’t eat sour patch kids even though you love them get sour patch kids Freezy pops they’re so good and they taste exactly the same I do think they only come in red and blue but those are the best flavors anyway

Sure can, some holidays demand multiple colors! If you come in with proper oral hygiene and are polite, braces fixers don't mind. Some cors don't show up well, like yellow.
Of course. If you wear your bands same day as your adjustment, you'll move farther along faster and your discomfort will be less in the week you get new bands.

My dentist said sonic toothbrushes are better than rotating ones. Is that true? They also tried selling me their branded products “Dr.Brite” brand and idk if they’re trying to make a quick $ off patients but can you review these products or at least let me know if they’re good or not I don’t want to feel scammed because they’re trying to say I need to buy their toothbrush and products for my treatment 😩😩😩

I am not able to understand how removing wisdom teeth can help in brace treatment. How will molars shift backward if the wire is not tied to anything at the back to pull it?
The wax is useless, it never stays on. Iglu do an amazing orthodontic gel that works like the wax to protect, but it actually stays on! 100% recommend!
i would like to ask something.i am having braces for a year now and i have half a year more to complete my treatment.my concern is that the last month i feel like my bite on one side of my face has changed and i dont feel like i bite well.i also feel like it has made my jawline a bit different on that side.is it normal?will my bite be at the end of the treatment like it was beofre with teeth touching normaly?i hope its something temporary and part of the proccess.if someone knows about what i am talking about plz answer

Hey autumn, I wouldn't recommend gum, however, you can have sugar free. Sugar free won't stick to your brackets and won't cause sugar to sit on your teeth.
