Please do not use WD40 to clean bike chain, it will remove the O ring lube permanently and the life of the chain will reduce drastically. Please don't share false information without checking.

Don't do it, My chain life span came to end very quickly, I sprayed it on break disk as well, Break pad went clean off metal

Never Apply WD-40 on Chain. Rest what you said was right.
