Dave, you need to get the original release of the Dream Van XGW if you don't have it already, has Real Riders with GoodYear tempos and opening side door with a detailed interior (a couch and a dog inside). One of my favourite piece as a kid.
Awesome cars my favorite was the truck but I really like that three wheeler in the back of that one nothing says the 70s or early 80s like a three wheeler awesome cracking video thanks for sharing
Very cringeworthy to watch most of those opened up, I could have sent you loose ones in place of those lol. Awesome video as usual. They will look steller in the new display.
Elisio Da Costa I have the Dream Van XGW in blue from that series, loose in mint condition, one of my favourite as a child. The Mercedes 380 SEL in that series is rare and expensive.
I wouldn't mind getting one of the Dodge D50's due to the fact it's just a Rebadged Mitsubishi L200/Mighty Max/Triton.I'm wanting to start a small scale Mitsubishi collection.
That T-bird also had a rare version with a port whole in the pillar. I have a non real rider version of that t bird it looks exactly like the one u showed but different wheels and mine hase a '81 date on the bottom but mine has alot of wear. I was thinking of restoring it and using real riders that look like the ones on yours. They're off of a new pop culture 101 dalmations van.
Definitely one of your most interesting episodes! All these look cool, but the Path Beater, Porsche 928 and By Wayman are my favorites. The Formula-type castings in particular (Turbo Streak & Formula Fever) look so much better with these Real Riders. Hope you show more vintage HW models in future episodes and i don't mind to see these beauties loose!
Definetely the best Ten Car Tuesday! You weren't kidding about this being cringe for some. Not me though, as a fellow loose collector I love seeing those awesome old models free'd from their prison!
That blue Chevy truck... With those yellow "wings". I has this one, EXACTLY this one as a kid. It was my fave of all my Hotwheels/Matchbox/Majorette. Then, I recall it being broke (however I don't recall how.) and asking my dad to fix it, but he told me he couldn't. I was really sad on that day.
That black Chevy truck is sick!! I also have it but no real riders. The blue Dodge truck with white camper shell I had that one in red. I also had the red Rampage truck with the yellow tricycle. How does it feel to open the “vintage” HW knowing that you possibly decrease the value of the cars? Don’t get me wrong I think I would do it too and I have done it to display them in the free. But it does feel somewhat strange knowing that some of the cars is 10-15 or 20-100 USD worth and then you still do it even though you know they would increase in value in the original packing
I just simply don’t collect for value or to eventually make money. I collect in a way where I hunt good deals so I don’t spend a whole lot of money on them either. Sometimes also if you need to it is easier to sell a loose car because card condition is not a worry. You may not get as much as a mint packaged one but there is still a lot of value there.
Championdjk I like that answer. I really don’t understand why some people collect 1/64 cars for the value of money. I try to stay clear the eBay sellers who sells e.g. HW Car Culture to overprice. I only bid or buy to overprice if I REALLY REALLY want the car. I mean yeah it’s fun to think that some of the cars I have may be of some value ,but I have not insured my collection. And I collect 1/64 cars because I have huge love of cars and can not afford a 1/1 hobby car. So I substitute it by collecting small cars instead. And I think it’s a fun hobby. I only have pretty standard 4 year old Toyota
