Imagine starting a wrestling company because somebody else had a monopoly on the business, to then consider buying the competition and creating a monopoly.
I actually think it could exist as four very different brands that cater to four different types of talent and four different types of fan. Ownership would just need to be open to it and wiling to let the people they hire do the jobs they're hired to do. Let Trips run WWE. Michaels and Regal run NXT. And so on.
If the heat death of wrestling did happen and this happened it needs to go down like the preliminary plan for WCW which could have kept Nitro as its own show on the WCW "brand". Aside from creating an unofficial "forbidden door" pipeline between the shows they should keep them as a fairly hardline brand split. Doing another "brand warfare" Survivor Series where it's relatively (Rumble winners aside) the *one* time each year we get WWE vs AEW would make that show actually feel like a proper Big 4 type of affair again.
Rather than one of the brands vanishing I'd say he would run them the way WWE used to run Raw and Smackdown. So two separate rosters with their own shows, stars, etc. and like 2 - 4 times a year there are special mega ppvs where stars from both brands would appear to do interpromotional dream matches. Maybe also once per year there might also be a "bidding war" for some of the stars so they can keep the rosters fresh, but I hope they wouldn't overdo that, as it takes away from the promotions being separate entities and the big interpromotional ppvs being special.
Have WWE, AEW, and ROH all run separately and have them come together for the Big Four WWE events. My favorite time watching WWE was when it really did feel like Raw and SmackDown were separate entities.
If Khan bought WWE, NXT would be rebranded as ROH. And AEW wouldn't go away. When Coke bought Fanta it didn't go away. Same with AEW and WWE. They service the same market but, in different ways.
I don't think TK should buy WWE. It would be good enough if he can make a working relationship with whoever DOES buy it, much like he worked with impact and NJPW.
This isn't like when Vince brought WCW Turner didn't care who it was after the merger they just wanted rid of it. Eric Bishoff and the group he wanted to buy it with pulled out when they weren't offering the same TV deal they had so they were effectively buying something that had no value unless they could get a decent TV deal at the time. They didn't want to wait for that so pulled out and Vince was they only one offering. Vince is in a position where he can pick and choose who he sells it to because of the value it holds as a global brand. Also simply having a large net worth between you and your father doesn't mean you throw it all away to let your son play fantasy booker with a company several times larger than the one he is struggling to run as it is. These what if scenarios prove some wrestling fans set themselves up for disappointment because they dream up stupid stuff.
I also can't even think of a single original AEW star that I'm just dying to see go up against a WWE star. They just don't have that big massive talent because they killed most of their own pushes. Even MJF I'm like meh. WCW had huge stars that you wanted to see take on their WWF counterparts.
The entire wrestling industry would be significantly worse if he bought it. The entire point of AEW was to end WWE’s monopoly on pro wrestling, giving fans and wrestlers alike an alternative which is an advantage for WWE, AEW and fans. What would going back to a monopoly achieve?
HHH and Steph are going to buy it but I feel like the forbidden door will definitely start to open maybe not with aew or not right away but I think it would be better if Tony didn't
Some things would be better and somethings would be worse. The Women's division would definitely be worse. Tony Khan clearly doesn't really care about booking AEW's women's division
The competition between WWE and AEW keeps both companies sharp. Yet, what if TK did buy WWE, let HHH continue running WWE creative, and removed Vince from any and all positions of power. Just being rid of Vince would make the purchase worth it.
With RAW, SD and Dynamite being top shows, NXT + Rampage + ROH combined shows into one show would sell out 20-25K Capacity arena for it's PPV heck you can even throw some NJPW guys in there.
Omega vs. Reigns shouldn't be a dream match, Reigns doesn't have the cardio to wrestle Omega. Nor does he have the moveset. Reigns and Mox would make the most sense. But there's no universe where Roman reigns can keep up with Kenny Omega, unless Omega is wrestling after a giant meal.
Wait a minute--can someone explain to me how the Khans would even be able to buy WWE? So they can't build a company that can match WWE in terms of sheer finances (WWE is something like 10 times the size of AEW, if not more) but somehow can outright purchase it? Am I the only person missing something here?
Next up : changes Tony khan would make if he was president then changes Tony khan would make if he ran a daycare. I understand you guys have to pump out content non stop but it's getting a bit ridiculous
I don't want it. We saw what happened for the past twenty years under absence of competition; especially now that WWE has had a creative resurgence that it's become legit fun to watch again for the first time in a good while I'd rather not disrupt that.
He would put every WWE superstar in a Stable 😂😂😂😂 the company would have over 200 stables, his guys that help build the company would job to every WWE star, (ask Britt)and you would only get one female match per show! and every wrestler would be in 3 different storylines at once! WWE isn't always great, but i don't want him to touch that company, competition is always better. we have more companies to watch, and we get more wrestling Video games!
It won’t happen but in a what if scenario. I would rebrand and combine to make World Elite Wrestling. WEW rather than 2 separate brands. You’d keep WEW Monday Night RAW, have WEW Wednesday Night Dynamite and then move the other big hitter show to become WEW Saturday Night Smackdown. You could have ROH as the new developmental and have a show in its own right and drop NXT. You would keep the Big PPV so a year calendar would look something akin to Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Double or Nothing, Full Gear, Summer Slam, All Out, War Games.
Here's an idea. Buy WWE, turn AEW into WCW, air Raw on Mondays, NXT on Wednesdays, and Smackdown on Fridays, meanwhile Nitro airs on Tuesdays and the brand new WCW Dynamite airs on Thursdays and ECW Extreme TV goes on Saturdays.
Glad Simon Miller did this video; can this comment get an UP as he is the best of all the possible people doing it if another I often skip it with a few times won't.
Love you Simon. But it's NEVER going to be a reality. And the reasons are two fold. For one Tony Khan doesn't have the kind of money to buy the WWE. For two Vince McMahon would NEVER sell to a rival promotion. Much less one that would definitely destroy his sports entertainment bullshit and turn WWE back into a straight up actual wrestling promotion again.
All you would need not Tony Khan to be at WWE all you need is somebody who is smart and intelligent that can read a text message or he can call somebody and let them know what's going to happen next in that match or at AEW or he can be at WWE does not have to be at two places at once long as he can Comcast everything at exactly is going around him on the screens he can basically all of the events at once being at one event WWE 4 months or so and being at AEW for a month or so he can stir basically do everything that he likes to do Tony Khan can Tony Khan won't have to stress himself out at all is other people can understand what he's trying to do for the companies❤❤❤🎉🎉
Lets all be real, if AEW bought WWE, they're taking the WWE name and using it, AEW Dynamite would at most replace NXT. Only things that would really change would be a TV-14 Program and every match would have a superkick quota of 100 now Along with this, it'd have AEW's booking, and anyone who says AEW is good, is on all the drugs
If Tony Khan bought WWE,he would get rid of everything that made sense and what people want to see. No scratch that he would keep the stuff basement dwellers that still live with their parents that know everything that happens in New Japan as soon as it happens, basically their audience. He would keep the stuff they love, and get rid of anything anyone else would remotely want to see. I do agree with one thing here. There would be a mass exodus. Everyone in the company now would leave and go to other companies if Tony Khan bought WWE. The only way I could possibly see this working,is if The Old Man bought it. But as a serious business. He'd either just keep everyone there or bring in actual wrestling people to run it. If he just did that and stayed out of the way. Sonny Boy would be nowhere near it though.
I’ve lived over half my life with a wrestling monopoly and I’m in no hurry for another one. Wrestling is best with 2 promotions. If Tony Kahn bought WWE, he would need 26 hours in a day to run all his companies.
Tony Khan isn’t buying wwe they won’t be able to afford it, shad khan’s net worth is about 6 billion. Unless he sells the jags. Wwe will go for about 5 or 6 billion.
wwe and aew need to be seperate entities there needs to be competition or well have what wwe did years after wcw purchase it became stale since no competition until aew
I always thought wrestlemania should be an event put by all wrestling companies for the fans and I get it you don’t want your champion to lose to the competition but I feel they can trade or draft match outcomes but I know it’s just a dream
What I'm about to say is not meant to be hateful to what culture, Simon Miller, this video, Tony Kahn or AEW. With that out of the way, I don't want Tony to buy WWE. Im anti one person owning everything when it comes to stuff like this. Vince was the only game in town for a long time and look what that did to the sport. Will Tony Kahn be the same? No I'm sure he would not but there is a chance it's possible. Even if not, think of this. One guy will have a say over all of wrestling (mostly) in North America. Is that fair? Even if he makes great stuff what if someone else does not like it? Don't they deserve an alternative? If you don't like an action movie there is horror. If you don't like horror there is comedy. So on so on. I just think it be a net bad.
Tony does not have the history or respect of the superstars such as taker or lesner. He is no vince mcmahon. If Tony was head of wwe. It would go under within months
Name it World Wrestling Elite. Then, it is still WWE, which is recognized, but it is your own. Raw Monday, Dynamite Wednesday, Smackdown Friday all on TV. NXT-Rampage and ROH can be on the network. Keep the rosters apart, except for Royal Rumble and Survivor Series. Each of the three major shows are alloted 10 rumble entrants apiece, while keeping legends and developmental out of it.
The 2001 invasion angle did indeed suck horribly. They dropped so many balls it was like they were all going through puberty. That angle should have ran for at least 5 years. No Goldberg, No Sting, No nWo until afterwards.
My dream scenario would be Tony buys it and brings Steph back and just let's her and HHH do thier thing. Then you can have AEW,WWE, and NJPW doing business together.
I'd like to see WWE cease to exist as a weekly brand, but be used as the parent company. Monday Night would be Dynamite, Wednesday could be the return of Nitro, and Friday would be Smackdown. (RAW and Rampage would cease to exist). Big 4 PPVs would be a weekend celebration of all things wrestling (new forbidden door). Dynamite, Nitro, and Smackdown would run monthly PPVs in other months. Finally, merge NXT and ROH in Orlando
Chris Jericho saying he's not a professional wrestler, he's a sports entertainer in AEW made me think oh he's gonna have one more run in WWE. Y2J forever. He's a legend in this business. ♥️
@@DatBoiZuess thats what i am saying why do people want different companies to have compitition not like there wrestles are gonna go to there show and wreck hovak there
Aew' s target still isn't to beat wwe but to endure and stay as a contender to wwe cause while it helped showcase all alternatives to wwe like roh, nwa, impact, njpw and rest of jp shows it actually drained people from these promotions and still believe aew didn't hurt wwe that much but actually killed roh and made impact the new roh
Tony Kahn doesn't have enough money to buy WWE his family is worth what WWE is reportedly valued at 8 Billion dollars . If he found some investors then maybe it could happen . But I see Tony's Dad spending his entire family fortune on a rival wrestling promotion
I really hope this doesn't happen, having one company, even if it's the one i prefer, can only lead to stagnation. Competition keeps people on their toes.
