Happy 31st Birthday Pierre!! Favourite thing in my bag is.... i have two actually, but total price for both is only $60 Canadian.. first is my zoom creep bands & second is my super slim, colour temp and brightness adjustable led light.. Neewer brand but its wicked for an accent light or fill! I like it
Hey Pierre, thank you for the great tips again! The Velcro was totally new for me, I will use it for sure! Because I mostly shoot dancers, I always carry some wet tissues in case their feet or hands get dirty. And I often use music even when shooting portraits, it helps a lot for the models to feel the mood. :)
Up to 21K subs, nice. First, a caution - the makers of Velcro are reportedly super aggressive about protecting their trademark. If, indeed, you have their brand then no problem. If not their brand, you need to call it “loop and hook” adhesive or something more generic. No kidding, you can expect their reps to contact you, if they haven’t already. I use a blower (Rocket Blower brand) - tip tip, keep the blower nozzle tip clean by covering it with a section of plastic drinking straw that has one end pinched sealed. I use camera straps w/Peak Design, but didn’t like the feel of their neck straps - so I adapted the anchors to a more comfortable neoprene composite strap - ergonomics, to each his/her own. (Discarded the old anchor version that had been recalled.). To hold a few SD cards I adapt (wait for it...) plastic containers that held dental floss - no kidding. Flex tilt tripod platforms also helpful, various sizes. Have seen but not used flex tilt heads that can be used w or w/o tripod - zee shaped metal platforms, compact and durable. Now we know you’re a cat person - 2nd vid, I’ve seen you holding one 🐱; this vid and the one in Asia with the barking dog in the background. Does the rice paper make a handy snack?🍴😀
Can you do a video on FILTERS. No matter what system I use, they are driving me absolutely CRAZY. They are so fiddly, and even the magnetic clip-on system (XUME?) turned out to be a lot of trouble when it came to staking them; variable ND with no front filter so you can't put on a cap, ugh! I would love to see how much you use them and your workflow with them.
That gorillapod is fantastic, I'm so glad I've bought that one myself! I can highly recommend you the Godox M32! It's an amazing light that everyone should have! Showcasing it soon! Would you mind giving me some feedback too? I'd love to hear your thoughts on my content. That way I can learn how to become a better content creator myself :)! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
I have to have my intervalometer with me. It allows me to do long exposures which I love and also use it as a wireless remote trigger. I have a little Gerber led flashlight than you can toggle to get red, green, blue and white light for light painting. Very small and handy to have.
those are some great photography accessoires. i should pick some of these up! thanks for sharing all this beautiful content with us! really enjoyed watching this
I have cheap a knock off holster, that you can attatch to your camera strap, or your belt. so you have the same way to attatch the camera, it is really quick, i use it for years, I have no problem with it. The big cheap plastic ebay one. You can screw a little ball in the tripod mount. The ball has a little hole on the bottom. If you put trought a keyring it is totally toolless. If you use it for months at a time as me you may want to check once in a while if it still tight.
Vidéo intéressante et... épuisante ! Relax ! Ce que tu dis est intéressant, pas besoin de tomber dans la présentation speed en permanence du style ''faut du bruit, faut qu'ça bouge''... Mais sinon c'est très intéressant, hein :-)
Right?! My friend made me discover. So useful!! ps: new video is out! Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3x-gdYrQ57g.html Have a great day!
I bring sunscreen as well as it helps protect the models skin but also adds some good shine when I'm shooting fitness. Then a small first aid kit, and waterproof picnic blanket when shooting at the beach.
I would add something that you’ll need and never thinking about bringing.....a small Swiss Army knife. Of course put in it your check in luggage when traveling in a plane...unfortunately I forgot I had it my camera back pack going through security.
a new eye piece for your view finder is super useful, one that gives you a little more distance so your forehead isnt rubbing against any flashes, microphones, or whatever you have on your hotshoe.
About the tripod, I own a gorillapod and a manfrotto carbon element small version. I definetely go for the manfrotto. It’ lighter and much more versatile, you can extend legs if you need.
I've used a knockoff strap holster ($35?) for a while and it really helps because it keeps the camera in one place to it's not dancing around, I use a strap with it as a backup but the holster has never given me cause to worry. I also have an SD card hardback and waterproof clamshell ($10) that is very good to keep my cards organized and safe.
Nice video very useful. Well mine is the nifty 50, it didn't coast my 100. that is my fav. item. I love you videos im just starting out in photography. And there is so much to learn, love it. Good luck on your travels an be safe!
Thanks Clay!! Welcome to the adventures ;) Keep it up! ps: just dropped the new video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_KD12g_oFFk.html Enjoy!!
I have a maxpedition small bag it fits on the hip. Holds a few filters , I leave the SD card case in it, extra batteries , rice paper. There’s room for a few keys and your cell phone. I love it because I can have everything at hands reach and don’t have to dig through my bag. Only keep items that will be used soon in there or if I’m switching out I can put the other one there temporarily. Oh also keep small set of flash color gels in there sometimes. It’s versatile. Thanks for your video! Learned a few things! Love the Velcro idea!
Thanks for sharing :) ps: the film street photography challenge photos are here!! Discover & Enjoy!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kTb0yGhS8ro.html
Thanks. I made a camera strap with a piece of webbing and some fastex buckles that I already had in my supply tub. It cost me noting but time. But even if I had bought the materials it would have been a lot cheaper than buying an expensive strap.
long time no heard from me Pierre! :o did not have much time to watch YT. Planned also 2 trips, one next weekend to Harz germany and one to Jordan! ;) SO pumped! Damn your killing it man 45k subs! I joint you somewhere at the start ;)
I've thought about the backpack strap holster but not sure whether it's gonna functional or not, now that you've mentioned it, i'm ordering it straight away. Thanks. Anyway, it'd be good if you can show the strap in action though.
Hey Izwan! It's been absolutely game changing for me! Checkout the street photography part 2 video you should see it there Hope you'll enjoy it too :) Thanks for watching! new video is out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fHnmCMGzG9E.html Enjoy!
Hi pierre I have only the dustpeer, a duster and lenspen with me, what I would like to have with me is an id card box, a new camerawar and filters (I have not yet and do not know what brand: Benro, Lee of wine contry) so the greeting from Rudy from Antwerp Belgium.
Besides camera and lenses I keep a flashlight a blower, a micro cloth, a tripod that collapses to about a foot, my Nisi V5 filter kit and a contractor trash bag Incase it starts pouring. Those heavy duty trash bags have saved my ass a few times. Not even a drop of water gets threw them in a downpour.
100% - I've been wanting to grab one for the past few months! :) ps: new video is out! Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3x-gdYrQ57g.html Have a great day!
Nice list and some nice gear. I've got the exact same SD card box. It's indestructible and waterproof and small and cheap. I've got it for years already and it's a great buy! I'm also considering the same camera strap. I've got another one which is bigger but attached to the bottom of my camera and has a quick release. It's nice, but I find myself using a Peak Design Cuff since I went from a DSLR to a mirrorless camera because I prefer to either hold the camera or have it in my backpack. Also considering the PD Capture Clip to go along with it so I don't have to reach into my backpack. Another great buy and awesome value for money is the Manfrotto Pixi tripod. Very cheap, small and reliable if your camera+lens is below 1kg. I also love the Apple Camera Connection Kit (SD to Lightning) so I can transfer my RAW files directly to my iPhone or iPad to edit them if I don't have a computer with me. Most camera's (at least Sony) can transfer files wireless as well, but only smaller JPG files (usually thumbnails) so that small Camera Connection Kit is awesome for quick editing and sharing.
A great list thanks I need to make a list of all the camera accessories, there are so many these days. I need to get a blower. I had one years ago with a brush on it. Also whats important for me is a good lens bag for each of my lenses. My Nikon DX lenses come with a soft pouch with a two cords to close the bag. This is very tedious and never feels safe for me. So I have been buy some Lowepro Lens Cases for each of my 4 lenses. They are strong and padded and have a zip rather than cords, and the have a flaps to allow you to put them on your belt.
I always carry a leather man in my bag, you somehow need it quite oftn. I also carry a glasses cleaning cloth for the lens with me, if some water gets on the lens (happens quite oftn if you go through wet grass).
Yes the leather man is amazing! I have a knife too but when I take the plane... I have to check it in! Good idea in case of water! Thanks for watching! new video is out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fHnmCMGzG9E.html Enjoy!
I’m glad to hear you like it too!! Thanks for watching :-) Btw I released the new video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uc4CetfP8vM.html hope you enjoy!!!
Hi! Pierre........ Very helpful video, thank you wanted to ask you about the flexible tripod: i have the a7iii + 24-70 f2.8 GM, will the JOBY 3K be good for that or should i be getting the 5K ??? Thank you
Get the 5k just to be safe! They wear a lot fast when you are close to the limit :) Thanks for watching! new video is out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fHnmCMGzG9E.html Enjoy! p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545}
I have the Dust Blower and a Pelican SD Card holder. But I want and need that backpack strap holster. With that holster my camera will always be in reach. So convenient! Great video full of good tips.
