Is this a joke? Most probably owner of the channel did not do good homework for a video. I cannot speak for other countries in the list, but Slovakia & Hungary are very expensive countries in a terms of groceries. They are more expensive then Germany. Lot of things there are cheap quality & overpriced. So please @placepicks don’t mislead people & do your homework for next video or at least visit those countries you referring to.

In these videos, I'm often shocked by the prices for groceries - which are indeed much lower in Germany!

Prices in Croatia's supermarkets surged due to Euro adoption the last year. Now it is cca double the price. Rents are about right, but will go further up. Shame you didn't show Zagreb, one of the new world favorites for digital nomads

Poor choices, Schengen countries have very stiff visa requirements for those without a European travel document..

Bratislava: go in summer, it can get depressing in the winter. Bring at least $1.17 to cover expenses. Hammer time, Miami Vice number one! (Eurotrip reference, it's affordable but not hilariously cheap like in the movie.)

Lithuania and Latvia - Cold, Baltic languages difficult to learn (while very interesting). In the university bookshop of Riga, you cannot even buy a Latvian textbook in other languages than Latvian and Russian! Quite arrogant! Croatia - Interesting. Was quite expensive in the 2000s. Hungary - Landlocked autocracy. Language impossible to learn for an adult. Cold in the winter. Slovakia - Landlocked. Bratislava is expensive. Cold in the winter. Poland - Cold. Language very difficult to learn. Romania - Romance language written in Latin script, good! Interesting on the coastline. Cold in the winter. Bulgaria - Language written in Cyrillic script. Landscapes look like in decay. Possibly interesting on the coastline. Cold in the winter. Greece - Very nice, but has become expensive in popular places like Crete. Restaurant prices are often just a little bit lower than in Greek restaurants in Germany. Fascinating Greek language in its own script, immersion necessary. Portugal - Info seems outdated. Immigration policy changed recently. Awkward sounding (Romance) language. >>> A 1 bedroom apartment (50 sq metres) can be rented at less than 350 USD in Germany, in a medium city that has got all the amenities, with low grocery pricing which is normal in Germany. Why pay the same in a country with a GDP per capita (PPP) 1/2 to 1/5 that of Germany?!?
