Fox 5's entertainment reporter, Kevin McCarthy (Facebook.com/KevinMcCarthyFOX), sat down with John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Gallagher Jr. and Dan Trachtenberg for 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE.
Both John Goodman and Mary Elizabeth Winstead were standouts in this film. It was also extremely refreshing to see a female heroin lead portrayed normally and intelligently by Mary Elizabeth Winstead who was completely believable.
Kevin is such a great interviewer! I love when the interviewer can bring a sense of informality like that to the interview without making the actors uncomfortable.
Why doesn't John Goodman have an Oscar?! He really needs to be more recognized because let me tell you, when he is given a roll he has such a way in playing that character. Undoubtedly one of my most favorite actors.
John Goodman seems like a super friendly, down-to-earth guy, and he is a great actor! From Raising Arizona to The Big Lebowski to 10 Cloverfield Lane, his acting skills are undoubtedly incredible!
Lol that was one of those meme worthy responses. Goodman: "Second of all, thanks!" Interviewer: *chuckles* "Thank you." The equivalent of "How are you?" "You too!"
Movies like this never get consideration but John Goodman gave a very special performance. This performance is better than a lot of academy award winners.
I always liked John Goodman, and I always thought he was super funny, but I had no idea how talented an actor he was till I saw him in this movie. He was downright diabolical in this movie!!! He was scary as heck in this movie!!!
It may seem a bit crazy, but I think the greatest film that I liked John Goodman in was The Flintstones with him as Fred Flintstone. It was a fun movie.
Such a talented actor. Even in Roseanne he was such a strong presence. So believable in the earlier seasons. That’s why I hated in the later seasons when the writers made Dan( John Goodman more of a knuckle head ) the guy can be funny, serious, heartwarming, scary. Such a talented guy! These questions are stupid. "Did you pull anything from your last role into this character? Something you could draw on?" Who cares? Do people really care about this stuff? I think the interviewers just think it's a good question to ask because everyone asks it. And actually, these entire interviews are worthless. Actors hate doing them and the interviews think they're really connecting with the actors.
Why are you asking them these stupid questiuons like "What other projects have you worked on that had fake names?" Why not ask them something relevant about their amazing performances on-screen... We've all heard about the fake names from the original Cloverfield's multiple shooting titles all the way back to George Lucas when he called Star Wars V "Blue Harvest". Jeez.
