My advice is get some button ups - i.e flannels and denim shirts. You can dress them up or down, roll up the sleeves if its hot or wear a longsleeve under if its cold

i think just dresses with prints on them or just plain ones with some cheap belts.. putting on a dress in the morning is literally the easiest thing because you don't have to worry about pants not matching with the shirts and all that...
Absolutely. And maxi dresses are your best friend when you don't have the time or energy to shave your legs but don't want to get too hot in long pants. I can't live without them.
I think its better to buy your stable pieces in neutral colours and use more money for items that will LAST. I would never advice anyone to use money on scarves and colourful/print seasoned pieces while on a budget - especially at college where most people can't afford a lot of clothes. No one at a presentation would notice if you wear the same black blazer and white shirt several times, but a yellow floral tee and a blue striped shirt would definently be noticed if you wore it at several presentations! I would find that embarrassing. You can always buy scarves in different colours to pep things up, and you get get them anywhere in the world almost for a good price, or better yet buy fabric you like and make your own scarf. Also, I would go with a fitted blazer for a presentation rather than an office shirt with a tank/tee underneath. A black fitted blazer can be used for so much. I also feel like a high procent of lycra makes T-shits too body hugging, which is a good look if you have a banging figure or are doing a workout, but look horrid on most women who have lovehandles or a little muffintop - It accentuates EVERYTHING about your shape! It is especially noticeable (and horrible) on girls with bra's that are too tight! I agree about very elastic tank tops on people who are overweight! But if that's the look they're going for or they feel good in those kind of tops, then I suggest that they should go for it! lol :D I'm super skinny myself, but my sister is a bit chubby looking (not obese but like that person on that picture you provided the link for), and she enjoys wearing these kind of tops. Again, if you really want to look good or pretty (while being chubby) than you should consider wearing something else :)
Guys, Evelina is not even kidding on the quality of H&M shirts. They are so well made and crisp, very professionally tailored and in so many classic designs and colors. They come in extremely helpful buttoned up (for a more polished and professional look) to even worn open over a tshirt for a more casual, relaxed look. I myself am an engineering student and we have many presentations as well, and I have 2 shirts from H&M that I have worn off the hook for over 4 years now and they are good as new. I would personally recommend a classic blue and white striped one that never goes out of style, a simple white one and maybe one with contrasting collar and/or cuffs, since they are the most classic designs!

I can't agree more!! Especially those basic tees, they really do look good basically with anything and you can create so many different looks with them.
a blazer... i study marketing and most people dress very preppy businessy attire type and it saves every outfit... i wear it with everything (gray or warm tan color works great with most colors)
A newsboy hat was a huge wardrobe staple for me in college! There were days when I would oversleep and wake up 15 minutes before my 8 o'clock class. I would get dressed, grab some granola bars and my bag, pull my hair into a quick side ponytail and throw on my hat.
Leggings are my go to piece if I have an early class I'll sleep In them wake up put on a tank top and cardigan some cute booties and look better then anyone In the class :)
I’d say multiple turtlenecks/mock necks are an essential , at least in cold climates. They look effortlessly put together, are super comfy and easily layer. Literally my go to outfit is black jeans, turtleneck and a nice jacket/cardigan and it looks like I put way more effort in than I actually did.
Yeah I've gotten blisters on my feet from wearing my converse to my high school where I have to do a lot of fast past walking to get to the next class, but I still love them!

In my humble, unfashionable opinion, this was not a realistic representation of 'making do with little'. In fact I felt her principles of having something basic that can be dressed up and down using jackets/accessories (which is a good principle) was contrasted by the ridiculous 'examples' [basically everything after the basic tees]. SO A+ for idea but D for examples. The clothes themselves are cool
Im an interior design major too, and shes SOO right about those professional clothes!! that a huge part of the grade, along with the boards. I like very basic black and neutrals because they coordinate with boards better than brights and patterns.
@evelina thanks for keeping the stuff simple. i think you're one of the few fashion youtubers who realize not everyone has a wad of cash to blow on clothes or have the money to spend $100 on a pair of jeans.

Knowing that you always grew up eating a good variety of fresh fruits and veggies, how did you manage to continue eating healthy in college?
You should do a fashion cafe on how to put together styles with a little black dress! Like how to pair jackets and jewelry to make different styles and to find out what cut would be best for what look.

I've found that a fitted but not too tight black leather jacket is essential in college! It's so easy to match with everything, and if I get cold, I can layer cardigans underneath. Also, fuzzy warm knee socks are great for wearing under boots because university campuses are freezing
where I live, we have super cold winters, so I reccomend investing in a GOOD PAIR OF TIGHTS, LEGGINGS and TANK TOPS to wear underneath regular clothes. It helps you warm up during those chilly days :)

That H&M shirt! I also have one that i've had for yeaaars (like 5-ish) that i've used a lot and it's still like new. Usually H&M is just crap, but those shirts are long lasting
i think for shoe basics, i would definitely say tennis shoes for working out/sports, basic heels for presentations/going out/performances, canvas shoes or sneakers for everyday, and a pair of boots.
In my dorm I seemed to have tons of space! I lived in a 16x16 dorm, sharing with one girl. I guess that is a bit on the larger side for a dorm. We have under the bed space, a dresser drawer, and an Armour. Great tips. I am a Junior in college, but I can still use this information.
