The pile of shields: it's the shield surfing lady's trash pile. If you pay attention, you'll notice it's right at the end of the shield srufing track...
One headcanon that I always love to bring up about how the giant Goddess Statue is smaller than it was in Skyward Sword is the idea that in the uncountable years it's been since SS, that statue broke apart and was recarved out of the rubble. The largest piece became the one still in the Forgotten Temple, while the smaller chunks were made into their own statues and placed in settlements, and that's why the Hylia Statues all around Hyrule can connect to the goddess, because they're all pieces of that original statue.
At Rassla Lake (Southeastern Faron Region) you can actually stand under the water. Go to the eastern edge of the waterfall, walk a few steps along the shore, then climb down into the underside of the lake. It's also the same lake that Farosh enters and exits too!
I love these places because they make the world of hyrule fell so... real? Like something of a hiding spot for children where they hide while playing orbwhen mom is annoying Also the forgotten temple is actually the place of the wild outfit (botw version of the classic link outfit) after completing all the 120 shrines
The tree on mekar island is a reference to the first dungeon in the zelda series. Four bushes surround the tree referencing the small trees in the dungeon and stal enemies come out at night here referencing the first enemy tou fight in the dungeon.
I'm always returning to that small cave off the castle library to collect the Stone Smasher. Didn't think of the significance of the Sheikah tech though. Good catch!
hi, so the one you missed in the yiga clan hide out in the room with the lots of bananas below that yyou can burn one of the curtants and two chest having 300 rupees each.
North of Mount Daphnes you can find the Ancient Tree Stump (west of the Central Tower) and around the bridge you can find some destroyed house including some underwater (which in age of calamity's dlc shows it to be a house).
I did comment this on your community post but on the bridge over lake hylia there is a spot halfway up one of the walls that if you go into the cell shading of the game gets cut out
I can't believe it, there is still new stuff to discover. I have been playing this game more than any other, but still... Thank you so much for pointing all these out!
I think the Mekar Island location is also a reference to the first dungeon from the original zelda. It was literally just a single tree on an island. And BOTW absolutely makes references like that
Funfact: Malanya‘s name in German is „Mahlon“. Which is pretty close to the Malon, the girl in Ocarina of time, that gives you Epona‘s song. Maybe it’s just me overthinking stuff. But I think that’s pretty neat, if it’s intended.
I haven't watched the whole video yet, so you might not have included it, but thre is a secret stash with guroto (i dont know how to spell it) items that are pretty cool. (Sorry for not knowing how to spell that one word) 😅
YOU MISSED THE KOROK ON TOP OF THAT FLAG, OH AND THE KOROK UNDER THAT ONE ROCK, OH! AND THE KOROK RUNNING AROUND THAT POND, AND THE KORK WITH THE BALLON UNDER THAT BRIDGE AND THE KOROK UNDER THAT OTHER ROCK AND THAT KOROK WITH THE STATUE U NEED TO PLACE AN APPLE OH AND I COULDN'T FORGET THE KOROK WHERE YOU HAVE TO HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF APPLES ON EACH TREE. smh so many locations u missed
The horse god is useless, we have a cool thing called reloading a save, also if you kill your own horse and revive it with the horse god it is normal, we don't get killed by the creepy horse god!
Is it me or is weird to "wonder what may have happened here"? Nothing happened there, the devs put some shields there to give the world extra depth and character.
The coolest location is the upper level of the throne room(right above the final bossfight) . Some window glass is broken and you can glide into the upper throne room, and it does not trigger the final bossfight. Here you can see the cocoon of Ganon from very close.
There is actually stairs form the upper part of the sanctum where you find one of royal guards gear. You have to enter by the north entrance and go right and you'll see the stairs that goes directly to the throne.
@@menagomis I know, but people usually miss that staircase, maybe because there is an other staircase that is collapsed, peopel see that and they assume the other one is collapsed too if they see it.
@@Dragonier1234 where's the fourth one then ? There's one in the desert, one in the volcano, one in the ice cave, ... (and those leviathans were called dragons here 💀)
Thank you so much for featuring my location! Another locale I personally found interesting was a spot on the Northwest side of the Great Plateau. In a small narrow valley, there lies an enemy camp, but what's interesting is the harsh winds and sort of charred grass! My theory is that this might be some reference or nod to another game, but whatever the case, it makes you think what this camp could symbolize, or if I'm just crazy!
@@jonahswartz2253 Sorry about the comments of mine from before , cuz I was the one that is being confused sorry about that. But anyway I’m on the map and I’m seeing exactly what you mean by that. But really I’ve never been there yet. But I’m going there now. But honestly though I have seen that place as one of a video here on RU-vid. But honestly though I’ve never went there from in game.
@@jonahswartz2253 But anyway I’m like right at it now. But I’m about to snipe the Red Bokoblin on the watch tower. But I do see what you mean by the winds. But I’m there at nighttime. Honestly though I’m not so sure about your theory , but what you mean about this place. Well you can jus check out the RU-vid Video about this place , cuz they really talk about it.
Head to dueling peaks stable. head North on the path, but instead of crossing the bridge, look under it. I'm pretty sure this is a reference to Link to the Past and where you get one of the bottles in that game. ALSO, if you follow that River East you'll find a little hidden hamlet near the water fall.
At the Dueling Peaks Stable (east of the Ha Dahamar Shrine) you'll find character called Hino which keeps an eye out for a Blood Moon then will randomly start running around the stable and if you speak to him while this happens he'll being bowing to Calamity Ganon.
In the middle of the Gerudo Highlands, there's a little fort filled with bananas and one of those ninjas will appear. It's a cool little spot and I was surprised to see it not make the list.
***3 FUN LOCATIONS*** *Misko's Treasure* There's that other stash area South of Hacklay Woods above the waterfall, and Hacklay Woods is South of the Dueling Peaks Stable. You can meet Domadik and Prissen at the stable, and they talk about Misko the Great Bandit, and they talk about his rumored stash of treasure's location. This leads into a side quest involving the spot that we're talking about. *Satori Mountain* Then there's Satori Mountain. Basically the grocery store of this game. No seriously you can get almost all types of produce, mushrooms, flowers, and herbs there. You can also find cursor bee honey and animal spawns for meat in the woods near Rutile Lake which is just on the southwest corner of the mountain. Can't let this go unmentioned either, you can find the Lord of the Mountain there as well near the peak on the north side of it. *Isle of Rabac* Then There's the Isle of Rabac in the northern part of Darunia Lava Lake. It houses the Shora Ha shrine, which happens to be my favorite shrine (the one with the Blue Flame course). Not only does it have my favorite shrine in the game, the island is in the shape of a giant crab. Plus there's a little more fun, since you have to take a mine cart ride to get there.
In the Guards' Chamber I guess that where it is? In Hyrule Castle under the bottom stairs there's actually a chest with a Savage Lynel Shield in it. I know the chest is in one of the rooms but I think its the Guards' Chamber.
On Mount Hylia's peak you can "The Old Man" (King Rhoam) next to some rocks but I believe that in botw's timeline King Rhoam was buried after his death by Calamity Ganon's guardians.
Next to the To Quomo Shrine is the Hebra Great Skeleton which is hidden away in Hebra's North Summit in a large secret cave which holds the skeleton of a leviathan which Likely died to an ice age.
I dont know if this is really obvious or not, but when you throw a sheikah bomb near a bokoblin and it doesnt explode, they’ll kick it around like a soccer ball!
Northwest of Robred Dropoff next to the Kam Urog Shrine you can find a lot of statues which at night one have its eyes glowing which might be a sign of a graveyard to the fallen soldiers at Fort Hateno.
One cool area is somewhere in the Zoni ruins I think. It's a reference to twilight princess and Gannondorfs execution. It's a 7 pillars on a circle with one of the pillars destroyed referencing the one sage gannondorf killed.
Those cave shields might be a real find once an octorok polishes them back up! Gerudo stash cave is sealed now after original discovery. It used to refill with every blood moon. I would add Mount Satori with all it's wonders and treasures ( 3 separate locations).
The Gerudo stash reminds me of how in TotK there is this one cave in the middle of the desert that is a MASSIVE treasure trove. There’s bomb flowers. There’s ore deposits. There’s fairies. There’s bright bloom seeds both big and small. It’s just a hole in the side of a sand dune, but it leads to a huge place
Around the Ishto Soh Shrine is a huge pile of garbage from Moza which also made a lot of smoke from a distancia and she thinks she's a good cook while it result in dubious/rock-hard food with questionable ingredients included.
One of my favorite places off the beaten path is the Shadow Hamlet Ruins. It's so eerie seeing the charred remains of this tiny settlement of unknown origin or purpose with the Fire Wizzrobe that most likely caused the destruction gleefully dancing around the ruins.
There was location I though was interesting. Next to Nirvata Lake is a large pit in the ground. Probably man made, but it has no name, it’s just a really odd thing to see...
"Before we say goodbye to botw" Me who is not even a quarter through the game despite having over 100 hours in it because I want to make the most of it: ummm about that
