How about a level where you choose which enemy room to go. Like there is: Monty mole, piranha plant, chain chomp, or spike. Then inside each pipe is a mini game revolving around that enemy.
1:53 - 1:58 I would cheese that by wall jumping on the creeper and just kill it from the top like that. But you can make it uncheeseable by blocking it up.
Fun fact: in the Super Mario world style, if you reach the goal while the bonus theme is playing, an alternate goal theme will be played. This doesn’t work in the castle theme and only works with the bonus theme in the Super Mario world style, which is a shame because there are other fanfares that could’ve been used for the other game styles and themes. For example, it would’ve been cool if the Mario kart, 64, sunshine and galaxy tracks used their respective victory themes, and the boss theme used the games boss/miniboss complete theme.

Small oversight: for the “don’t look left” setup, you can by pass most of the gimmicks by using an easy form of Yoshi tech. If you activate yoshi’s tongue, you have roughly a second to move in the opposite direction without turning. This happens so that yoshi’s tongue animation does not get messed up.

You can put a boom boom on the boo stack for the don’t look left, use two state blocks as the p switch blocks, and place the bomb activating the on off switch on a blue platform on track, that way the setup will be globally loaded.
The problem with using lesser known mechanics is getting downvoted by people who don't know the mechanics and think you are trolling with some invisible block or Dev exit.
