Hope you enjoy the video guys! Was a difficult one to film and edit after smashing my DSLR lens on day 3 🤦🏻 and had to resort to using my phone mainly. Anyway, appreciate you watching, see you on the next one, Matt 👍🏻
Not cheap to replace dslr lenses, broke one of mine shooting the lumiere Durham a few years ago 😢 Would never have known you'd shot a lot of that on your phone dude, it turned out well 👍
Well done Matt. I'm glad that the critters all were friendly. Everyone talks about the paddling---no one talks about the portages until after you've done some big ones. They are what they are. You wouldn't have seen the moose without the portage. But seriously, I'm happy you enjoyed yourselves and I'm happy for the excellent videos. Happy, and envious. For me, the call of the loons is the sound of Algonquin...
Thanks Laurie! Yeah I personally actually liked the portages, chance to stretch your legs and see some wildlife, also a good way to warm up too on a cold day haha. Definitely agree about the loon, really wish we had them over here such a really nice call they make 😃 - can't wait to go back one day 😁👍🏻
Haha yeah, they are great for that, especially when i stopped paddling to faff on with the go pro, get me back on track pretty quickly lol. Thanks Nathan, appreciate it mate 😁🙌👍
Must be a huge effort on a longer trip like this to do the videos for us! Recharging, setup, carrying, and in pretty wild conditions! Excellent video, say hello to Bullwinkle for us!
Thanks Richard, yeah it is a lot of work on top of the actual camping side of it, but worth it :) Haha gave him a wide birth 😂😂 cheers buddy, atb, Matt 👍
Thanks Emma! Yeah its a beautiful place 😁 Hopefully we will be back out soon, but ive recently torn some ligaments in my knee so just hoping that heals up quickly 🤞
The effort you've made to film this incredible adventure Matt is awesome. Filming the portages is seriously a lot of hard work on top of a heavy load. Great tributes made which we know came from the heart. Looking forward to new adventures back home for a while. Thanks mate we've enjoyed this series immensely. Bushyboy Oz.
Thanks Ewen! Yeah it was a tough one to film, but I enjoyed making the video when I got home 😁 was such a good trip 👌🏻 yeah got some decent trips in the pipeline mate, cheers, Matt 👍🏻
Yeah was unreal mate! Haha yeah we took on some decent portages on this one. Was nice to break the paddling up though and stretch the legs lol. Thanks mate, atb, Matt 👍
Looks like a beautiful mixture of padding and portage stages, the skies were just beautiful and I bet you had so many pictures..... Thanks for taking the time to video and share its always a nice escape to get away with you
Fantastic matt 🙌 thankyou for taking us along on your epic journey with Fred , eze , Paul & yourself 👍you do realise that everytime you open that map at home ,, your gonna have an itch too scratch 🤫 I'll let you take my boat for a paddle / it might give you a different outlook on the models available 🙌🛶👍A belter video matt 👌
Cheers Martin! Haha I've got one without opening the map 🤣 can't wait to go back! Thanks mate, I was looking at the ones from Manchester canoes but I could get across to Canada 3 times for the same price haha. Got some lovely looking canoes available now tho 😬 lol. Cheers mate 👍🏻
Thanks Jimmy! It was mate, just an amazing place with so much wilderness to explore. Hopefully ill get the chance to go back at some point. Cheers buddy, atvb, Matt 😁👍
Class Matt! I know I mentioned the portages previously but really looks like hard graft! 😳 Worth it tho, that view @ 16:20 !! Looks like you’ve had a blast
Thanks mate! Yeah they weren't that bad really, well some of them were 🤣 but I honestly didn't mind them and actually liked doing them lol. Yeah we had some unreal views! Definitely a place I want to go back too at some point 👌🏻 cheers mate 👍🏻
Excellent! I’m so glad you enjoyed your time here in Ontario, Matt. I was up in that neck of the woods around the time you were here, and I wondered how you were making out. Seems like it was a superb (though not always easy!) trip. I’m so happy. Thanks for sharing another great video.
yeaaaaaaah buddy!!! beautiful words at the end! Loved the awesome recognition to tracy and the kiddo, it was a real pleasure to adventure together, as always. Like you said, we worked well as a team and we also allowed everyone to have their space to do things on their own etc. V grateful to have shared this experience with you bud, which I will never forget. Now.... when we booking that float plane then???? LOL
Haha soon I hope!!! Thanks mate 😁 was awesome and same, looking forward to the next trip already 😁👍🏻 made some awesome memories on this one 👌🏻 speak soon mate 😃👍🏻
Thanks mate! Glad you liked it buddy 🙌 yeah there is a lot of work that goes into filming and editing, glad you appreciate the effort buddy 😁 atvb, Matt 👍

Nice one Matt. Now my wife will be expecting a shout out 😂 so much mist during that shot, sure you wasn't in a night club! You got some great shots and some awesome memories came back during them, can't wait to do it again 😉 Take care, Paul
Nice one Matt, some weather you lads had and some graft as well with those Portages but what a great trip. That sunset too 😍 beautiful mate. cracking trip, cheers fella 👍 atb Rick n Billydog
Aren't Moose huge? Seen my first one when I went home to Hew Hampshire several years ago to see family. I live to far south in the country for them. Remember being amazed at how big they truly were. Man, you guys had some good rains on this trip. Enjoyed watching your adventure all the way through. The Canadian wilderness sure looks amazing. Hope to see some of it myself one day. Best to ya Matt! be following along on whatever you come up with next.
Massive mate. Got a bit of a shock when i first seen it lol. Yeah we did, but made for some great memories and kept us on our toes haha. It is Karl, so much of it to explore! Hope to go back myelf again one day too. Cheers buddy, appreicate it 🙌 atvb, Matt 👍
Great trip. Some more amazing scenery. Would love to hear your thoughts on the forests vs. what you're accustomed to in the UK. With your bushcraft experience I thought you'd have fashioned some sort of sail for the canoe.🤣
Haha, didnt think of doing that 😂😂 yeah they are similar to here really, just have a few different trees to what we have. Some of the white pines were massive! Just wish we had wilderness areas over here on the same scale. Thanks for watching mate, appreciat it, atvb, Matt 👍
Matt, glad you’re OK. There was an imagined delay on this video being posted, so I was concerned a local Grizzly finished you off. 😂 Thanks for an epic adventure. Really loved this. Any more adventures planned for overseas?
haha thanks Ben! Not at the minute, but i definitely want to go back to Canada at some point. For now though ive got a few trips to Scotland on hold as I recently damaged my knee and on crutches for awhile until it heals. Hopefully it wont be too long though. Cheers, atvb, Matt 👍
Does life get any better. Portage is not a word I’ve ever heard here in New Zealand, I had to look it up. What kind of distance do you portage those 10-20kg canoes & packs?
I know mate, was such a good trip! The longest was 1.2 kilometres and we were double carrying which effectively means we had to walk it 3 times. I really don't mind the portages tho, good chance to stretch the legs and see some wildlife 😁👍🏻
We made a similar trip in May 2019. Great to see the campsite at Grassy Bay once more. Looks like you had better weather than us. Best wishes from The Nation of Darnet. 🛶
