One of the best tips I ever learned was to add double sided tape to the back of my cardstock before diecutting. Makes life much simpler for intricate diecuts and Sentiments.
Hi Connie, I have a great very simple tip to protect your top cutting plate from getting all cut up. I put a sheet of copy paper over my die under my top plate. Sometimes I put a double sheet. This means my top plate lasts for months and months without having to be replaced. It also protects cardstock from marks, very handy for foil. I have been doing this for years. Connie - These are Great & very useful tips. Thank you very much for sharing these die cutting tips with us! Lots of very useful information. Thank you for all your extra work in making a printable pdf to have with all the tips & ideas . Connie you are so crafty talented & so kind to share with us ! Have a great week 👏👏👏💞
Love all the tips! You are such an asset for the stamping world. I loved the beer card. One suggestion? Put the last beer glass on a wobble. I appreciated the tip about making dies work as different labels. Always 🙏
I just made a birthday card before I watched this video. So I didn’t see your comment about the wobble until after everything was glued down. Why can’t I remember these things?🤦🏼♀️
Thanks bunches for the reminder about the Press’n’Seal for use as the “hold down tape”! I’ll give that a try, as I’ve tried everything else, from the YELLOW Frog Tape on through the “sensitive skin MEDICAL TAPE”. In most applications, these are just fine - UNTIL I run the project through my embossing/die cutting machine. After that maneuver, ALL those others adhere to the point that they abrade the paper when I try to remove it.
Great tips, thank you. I recently started this hobby and wanted to emboss with one of my dies. Nothing I improvised worked until I thought of using my thin rubber-ish mouse pad. Voila! it worked.
thanks Connie for all your tips as always it sure helps and I really appreciate you taking the time to share it!!! I love the take your pick tool ... but had no idea about the press and seal ( which I have already) 💜💙💚💛💖💕😊
GREAT!!!!!!!! Tips. A number of times I’ve wished a die was slightly longer or shorter. The cling wrap tip is amazing!!!!! Embossing with a die, that is a game changer!!!! Very, very helpful video. Thank you.
@@simplysimplestamping That's why I told other watchers to order one from you. It's one of the best crafting tools to have in your arsenal. LOL It's one craft buy you won't regret!
Oh, #7 was completely new for me. I have seen similar hacks for paper punches and wondered if they could be adapted for a die cut. Yes they can! Thanks
The Press and Seal and Post It notes were genius. I also hate wasting my washi tape but I hate when my paper tears! Lint roller was great also. Thanks Connie!
Wow, the embossing with a die is *JUST* what I was going to look for next. 😃 I was wanting to give that a try, but I forgot what the magic formula was. Here you had it!!!! Thank you! 👍 Great tips, tfs! ⭐️👍🌈
I’m a first time viewer and now subscriber! Thank you for simplifying things. I haven’t used my Big Shot to die cut yet because I’ve been intimidated. Now I feel a little more confident.
It is. I added a note on the video because I filmed this before it was discontinued. Stampin' Up is refunding everyone their money who ordered it. They really stand behind their products.
Wonderful hints! I never thought about the Press ‘n Seal trick. The box is moving to the craft room! My 13 y/o granddaughter loves to come over and die cut and I will share these tips with her. (She will think I am smart!! 😉)
Sorry, the comment was incompleteness. Your tutorials and hacks are super. My question is about stamping. How could you do a reverse sentiment stamping using a scalloped die?
Hmm, I don't know if I know about reverse sentiment stamping. That's a technique I am not familiar with. You might Google that term and see what tips you can find on that.
I love watch your tips and hacks on my cell phone. But, this time, my small phone screen 📲 made it nearly impossible for me to see the embossed details. Maybe next time you could rub some ink over the final embossed images. That way the contrasting colors would make your embossed design really stand out. Otherwise, I fear, this trick may not be understood by some of your viewers with smaller screens or poor vision. Fortunately, I already understood the concept involved here. But newbies may not be so lucky. Thanks for sharing. Love your work. 🌻🌷
I love your videos but I do not get downloads. I follow the prompts but just get back to the Utube videos! Anyone out there know how to get the downloads?
Mary Lou, in the description under the video you will see a link that will take you to my website. That is where I load the downloads (a blue button). The link for this one is wp.me/p2ZBXB-ffU. I hope that helps!
*** side note - for those of you that follow Jennifer McGuire, her husband actually invented (or was on the team that did) Press 'n Seal. True story. 😉
I've been using Press n' Seal for a long time in my craft room, but never to hold dies in place instead of washi or purple tape! I haven't been happy with any of the "new" tapes to hold my dies, so I'm definitely going to try PnS now! Did you know a fellow crafter's hubby invented PnS?? Yep! Jennifer McGuire's husband invented it!! Oh, and the SU silicone mat is fantastic! I use them all the time for applying glue to intricate dies and daubing them off on the silicone so they don't 'bleed' on my project! I also use them to hold ink pads, loosen lids, etc. I have 2 & I bought my hubby one for the garage so he would keep his mitts off mine!
Great tips and tricks Connie! I never miss a Tuesday Tip Video I have learned so many fabulous things from watching them. Even though I didn't started stamping until 2016 I feel like I have the knowledge of someone with 20+ years of experience. Thank you Connie!! Your tips have been priceless to me.
Have been wanting to figure out how to stretch a die … now I know !! Also, going to try the Glad press & seal instead of painter tape (how would of “thunk”!! 😊 Thanks Connie !!
