@@TheOutdoorsMeGee ok I would but I am not very computer savy , hahahaha I cant see where ur email addy is listed anywhere, sorry for being a computer dummy my friend, btw hope u and your family had a fantastic Christmas !
You're the man! Good on ya for sticking it through, I could feel the misery (and brought back memories of a few rough nights like this too). Those eagles were really cool though!
You can sleep exposed hobo style. Your warm clothes. Your backpack as a pillow. A blanket underneath you. Your knife in your hand. Your bottle next to you. Your bean tin can fire smoldering.😊😉💜
Found your channel a few days ago and watched some of your past videos. Just subbed. I like the way you just go out and do it. You're not afraid to make a mistake or look silly doing it. Too many youtubers have big egos and edit out their mistakes. Appreciate the way you come across and expose yourself in a realistic way. You can get a little weird at times but that's part of your charm. Thanks for all your efforts and looking forward to watching more of your older videos and the new ones. God bless you and your family.
@@TheOutdoorsMeGee ya not seeing the weird thing, (how you can get a little weird), maybe it's because I'm a little weird also, or hmm maybe a lot weird 😆 haha Great video
Don’t apologise for the camera work man, you would be the only person in the world to see such a wonderful sight. We have you to thank for sharing such a beautiful moment. Keep them wonderful moments coming man.
Well, we both survived. You pulled off a freezing cold $10 overnighter and I watched while sipping a few cups of coffee. The coffee was so hot I had to take off my new OM hoodie. The struggle was real! Great video once again. Think I might have to extend the handles on all of the cookware in the kitchen now. That tactical spatula was sweet!
The two eagles without the piebald are just young, not praticularly female. Also if you find yourself beside a body of water that isn't clean, you can dig a hole near the water until it fills up to let the Earth filter it first :) Great vid... love it!!
That spatula rules, thanks for another great video. Those cold, uncomfortable nights are the worst and the best all wrapped up in one. That was an awesome video I am glad you stuck it out good stuff!! Thanks again, Frank...
You woke up the next morning. So you succeeded in what you set out to do. No shame in that at all. It's survival....which is often not comfortable or pretty. You did just fine!
Great real life video, thank you. Here's a tip or two. Maybe pull your shirt sleeve down over the water bottle to help filter the water as you fill up your Arizona bottle then you can dry your shirt by the fire. Can also use one of your long sleeve to use as a replacement for your old plastic bottle you made a filter out of. Same parts sand, gravel, charcoal.( Turn shirt inside out first so you don't have to later deal with a sandy yucky shirt against your skin after you dry it out). Also I would add a good thick layer of leaves on top of your cottonwood back for more insulation. And lastly maybe in addition to your hot water bottle, heat up a series of large rocks to snuggle up with while you sleep, swapping them out as they cool. Once again I love your videos, they are real life. Some of the big guys look like they practice so darn much and some of them I can't tell their video from the accompanying commercials. Cheers.
Brother, you paid the price on this challenge! , but you learn what works and what doesn’t work . Keep doing this, it is so cool, keep it honest like you have been doing, can’t wait for the next video!
Wow how lucky ate you to have witnessed those eagles! Treat for me too. Thanks for sharing. As always...entertaining. i get a cup of tea and a biccy when your videos pop up.
Keep in mind, the foods inside the can were cooked inside the can already as part of the factory processing. You're doing nothing more than what was already done when you are reheating foods in the can. The best way is water bath, the contents wont go over 100c/212f that way, and will be well below the 176c/350f and higher break down temperatures of the can lining. Boiling the can (opened or steam vented of course) also prevents scorching/burning the contents of the can.
😂 I was thinking more like you were going to pull out a wood burning stove and some pipe lol. I am binge watching your videos now. I started with the oldest, and I’m about to watch the cattail fail 😂. So if you see a huge spike in watch time over the next few days, it’s cause of this guy right here. Keep up the great sense of humor. Take care and enjoy your holidays.
Mine would have been a knife, hammer, twine, 2 meals, gallon of water, a shower curtain, cake pan, lighter. You can always use the paper that comes on the cans of food , and what ever else that comes in anything that will burn for tender
As always great video. I love watching wildlife while bow hunting. Seeing eagles is always an awesome treat. The battle spatula is just pure awesomeness.
Heating rocks in the fire, roll them onto pieces of bark and take them into the shelter and snuggle close to them. It would keep you warm for a while. I also would have piled dry leaves up against the outside of the plastic. I guess I'm weird, too.
You are crazy, but you stuck with it. After all you could have left not posted the video and we your fans would never have known, I love your ability laugh at the situation's you find yourself in, and the photography of those eagles on that ice float was beautiful, you are one awesome guy, take care, hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day. Take Care out there, much respect from the UK.
I understand the challenge, but if the hotel charges a $100 a night you deserve at least $50 for your next trip lol. I would recommend a two stop trip too, one at harbor freight for a saw, couple moving blankets, a hatchet, tarp, rope, and foam floor mats (only about $30 or less at h.f.) walmart would get you hamburger, baked potatoes(extra for hashbrowns) eggs for breakfast and still $13 dollars for cheap booze lol or even put together from multiple stores, the "best" equipment you can get for $50, maybe make it into a car kit for the family with cheaper but less weather sensitive food stuff. Maybe you've already done one, I'm a new subscriber
That's weird I didn't comment on this video 😳 it was one of the very first videos 😳 😬 I saw of yours. But it was Awesome non the less just like you are. Thanks for sharing and for all the hard work and time you put into these videos. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗HUGS🤗 THANKS FOR ALL THE SHENANIGANS! You survived on 9 dollars worth of gear. You're a pretty smart cookie. Good job Duane
Oh ya I saw another subscriber comment that you were weird at times, well I don't see it at all maybe that's because I'm weird also huh 🤔 maybe so bahahaha. 🤔
I know how you feel when you get those leg cramps. I get them also. I eat lots of bananas and baked potatoes. They are suppose to be good for leg cramps. You sure you didn't hear a spook during the night? Tree knocking is usually a big foot around, or something you can't see. Go home and go to bed. You need your sleep..
Oh man. Those eagles! Wonderful way to really get things rolling. You gotta eat, man. Ypur body breaking down them food stuffs will actually warm you up. Obviously you werent in much, if any, danger. But even if its nasty ramen, it'll help.
Megee that was the best thing getting to see the Eagles wow a vision of a life time floating on ice and eating fish that was awesome thank you for sharing. We have the gaters sorry the night was a not so comfee
Yes it was definitely a sight to see! The night would have been better if i played it out better in my head! I got a new plan for next time! Never going to learn if you don't try!
if you had piled lots of dry leaves and or a lot of that dry grass over the bark making a nice warm bed to snuggles down in. you would have stayed toasty warm. I know this from personal experience dry leave, pine needles and grass makes a great insulator from the cold.. the other thing you might try next time is to lay one shower curtain on the ground over a pile of leaves add dry grass and put the other shower curtain over the top with more leaves or grass on top of that. if it works with tarps it should work well with shower curtains.. one just has to be still once in it to keep from loosing the insulation on top. water can be filtered by digging a hole away from the water remove the top soil from the area your going to dig a hole... you dig it deep and let the water seep into it until the hole fills up then boil that water it shouldn't be cloudy then... something to try in the future. Great video it's nice to see you trying to survive and having fun doing it. just no need to freeze lol also next time back off from the water it's usually colder closer to the water. try that sometime too. doesn't hurt to experiment and learn new things :) Awesome catch with the baby eagles and parent on the ice that was amazing.
Your videos are always TOP NOTCH bro. You should make one of your shirts with the Mickey's game on that says one of your catch phrases or something. Haha Maybe that's a dumb suggestion. Anyway Im a huge fan my friend. You got this down and your a great Dad. Have an amazing Christmas . Big E and Cash( my dog) yea he watches as well. Haha
Great video dude I would like to see you make a shelter out of just Saran Wrap I think that would be awesome hope you got the Subaru fixed but thanks for keeping it real wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas
669 views and only 75 thumbs up??????? What is wrong with you? Give this man a thumbs up for gawd sake for going out in miserable situations so that his viewers can be entertained. I challenge anyone to do what he did and then show us the proof! For 10 bucks!!!! Come on all you fancy know it alls show us what you got.......no tools.....limited time. I DARE YOU.....
Thanks for sticking it out man. I enjoy your personality. I bet that was a miserable night. Cheers from Ontario, Canada dude. Question: Have you gotten sick or had diarrhea from drinking or eating anything out there?
That looked cold and uncomfortable. Should of laid the bark down first and then the leaves lol. It would of been softer. Plus should of down a long fire. Glad you stuck it. Amazing video of the eagles btw. Look forward to your next video. Oh do you ever do any ice fishing? I did and over nighter in my ice hut and low and behold my heater wouldn’t work. We frozed our asses off. 🤣
Yeah definitely a learning experience haha I have never ice fished lol I'm a shit angler but am going to try this year hopefully. Did you make a video of your outing?
No I didn’t lol, battery was dead real quick in the cold. Next time I will but I’m going to make sure we have a backup heater lol. Ice fishing is definitely a total new experience then regular fishing. I fish with a lot of tip ups for the bigger fish. It’s fun, it would be awesome if you did do an overnighter ice fishing or even an ice fishing video.
You keep saying "just (winging it.)" Now you owe us a video with you frying up some chicken "wings" w/your favorite wing sauce and PLENTY of cold beer! You can thank me later... Lmfao 🤣 Edit: They need to be fried, deep fried...
I'm hoping to get outdoors again but no more hiking for me but I can use a scooter to get into the woods when the Dr gets my blood pressure under control I would love to join you on one of your adventures but hot tent only no cold for me anymore@@TheOutdoorsMeGee
Nine bucks worth of misery! Next time build yourself a "Siberian Log Fire" and forget the plastic. See the "Survival Russia" RU-vid channel for more info.
The Outdoors MeGee that makes sense since it’s moving water, i live by a lake and it keeps the frost off our apple trees bc it’s warmer than the winter air and thus warms the air, sorta lol idk it still seems cold AF it gets like -20 here at times either way
