my buddy Nick came up with the idea that Leia was bullshitting as a defense mechanism when we were RPing the exchange between her and Luke. of course, we were addressing the accidental incest, but still
Last jedi. Luke should have used his green lightsaber in the final battle. We knew Rey had the blue one. So, any attempt at a twist was instantly lost.
Sometimes we fans take lines said on screen way too literally. The example here where Padme dies from a broken heart vs Padme dies from succumbing to her injuries from Anakin's assault on her are not mutually exclusive. She died of her injuries, the characters then say she died of a broken heart to metaphorically underscore the emotional and physical damage Anakin did to her. It's only problematic if you accept literally that she just gave up and died because sad. Lucas just isn't good at writing dialogue.
8:40 how in the hell did you guys find scenes where Luke's lightsaber is blue and not green when R2-D2 shoots Luke's new lightsaber out to him on that little barge from Jabba's big sail barge?! I mean, I am pretty sure those were originally from the first trailer and not from the actual movie, but seeing it blue is just so weird after seeing, and knowing, it was green for all those years! Anyone else have thoughts on this??
jar jar's tongue actually had some purpose during the dinner scene. Let me explain. Jar Jar initially snatches some fruit to show that gungans are capable of frog-like tongue flicking. it's fast, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it action. the second time he does it, Qui-gon snatches it in his fingers, essentially demonstrating the jedi reflexes he mentioned a second ago. The goofy tongue-flicking may have been irritating, but it did serve a purpose in the scene.
A few extra lines about how Palpatine's returned and Rey's father being a clone of Palpatine would have made a huge difference to ROS. Also removing some of Anakin's more awquard/creepy dialogue in ATOTC and allowing Ackbar to die on screen in TLJ.
I think that Palpatine survived the Death Star explosion and landed on Endor with the wreckage we see in Rise of Skywalker. That wasn't a clone .. it was actually him. I think the franchise has well established the fact that Sith do not die easily. Darth Vader was burned - Darth Maul cut cleanly in half. The Sith cling to life even when they are an inch from death. Maybe they selfishly use the force to do it. That seems like it would be a Sith thing.
@@kenbrown2808 Agreed...:))MTFBWY, I always thought the OGSarlac devouring bodies was cool, until Boba fell in and it Belched, as though to say, now that was a tasty treat-didn't seem to work so well with the CGI, & I thought a fitting death for Fett, him coming back in the Mandalorian was enough Boba praise for me, the mystery allows our Imagination to make Fett, a cooler character than maybe they could have done!
My personal favorite duel has yet to be made into any kind of work other than books, rip fate of the jedi. My favorite one in the films we have has to be a tie with mustafar and phantom menace's climatic final clash
3:02 Something I have always wondered. In the Vader/luke ESB duel: when Vader missed Luke and hit the rail, how come the lightsaber didn’t cut the rail like they did just a few seconds before?
Thank you. Nobody seems to get this. It's the best explanation with he most integrity. Plus after reading Darth Plagueis i don't doubt Palps had the ability to transfer life essence
CGI in Anakin v Obi-Wan didn’t seem atrocious or even readily apparent to me, and I never thought about it until watching this video. But less CGI is good general advice for the prequels, so…
maybe you forget the Leia was raised by then Senator Organa-my wife n I have always wanted a girl, so her memories of her mom are accurate, just not relative to her birth mother-smh...:( JJ Abrahms apparent death of Chewie was a dramatic thing to ease fans at his reveal of still being Alive, Yoda is cool all around, the Maz lightsaber thing, is typical Lucas leaving things to our Imagination, Maz was leader of scavengers, scavenging, and peddling their wears to survive and thrive. Nitpicking is picking at Nitts ;p You can not sell that-to me at least, as tweaks to Perfection??? I can relate with the clone army, but dude they were still adjusting to the incorporation of CGI and Practical effects to verify the authenticity, Realism of the entire ordeal.. c'mon brother ease up, playing Monday morning armchair quarter-back is always easy, very different when you're in the fight... not Impressed by this offering, sry man...:(( Yoda n Dooku, was cool, as it was fans first Yoda lightsaber fight...:)) Next ;p xoxo--Happy New Year Brother, may the force be with you-
Vader uses his saber like it's a Medieval Claymore sword. He sweeps long, slow but with power. Majestic swordplay that increases tempo and ferocity the longer the fight lasts. Real menace bristling and sizzling in the pauses. All the other lightsaber duels between other characters are laughable in the choreographed affectation of it all. Doing Ribbon Gymnastics in front of an opponent intent on killing you is just comically ....comic-con.
I actually disagree with most of these and think only some, like having real clone armor and making Boba Fett's end less silly, would improve the films. Also, can we just all agree that no amount of tweaking will fix the "sequels" at this point?
@Skute I know, that's why I'm so confused. I've never seen HD footage with this colour blade. Mandela effect? Has Disney pulled a Lucas and done some tampering?
long story short youre telling lucas he shouldve painted his house white but he doesnt want a white house he wants a green house and its his house so hes painting it green. its not your house, if you dont like it then dont worry about it
Erasing Leia's memory makes no sense in this context. Instead of "tweaking" the scene in ROTJ where Leia remembers her mother, wouldn't it have made more sense for George Lucas to have just remembered what he did in ROTJ, and written ROTS in a way that made sense with what came before it?
Hell no on Boba in ROTJ. I find it _hilarious_ that Boba Fett-who spawned an entire race of armored badasses and writers hyping the hell out of him and other members of the same race in both the old EU and Disney continuities solely because of how cool his distinctive design was-has being accidentally punted into the Sarlacc as his only real "fight" in the Ur-Canon that is the original trilogy. Every time I see writers go way too far in Mando/Fett hyping, anytime I see fans get into overly involved arguments about whether Mandos/any of the Fetts can beat [Insert Fictional Character or Faction Here].... I look back on that fact and laugh my ass off. I still enjoy works around Fett or the Mandalorians that are decent enough, mind, but it's still hilarious to me just what spawned from essentially "wow, this guy looks so cool."
Nicely said, mystery adds Intrigue, the Sarlac belching after Fett fell in was hehehe I always loved that scene growing up, like that was a tasty meal-get in my belly...MTFBWY :))
Enough with the Leia mother memories and kiss ing Luke thing. You know,it's fiction, right? Lucas couldn't have forseen Star Wars taking off the way it did so there are bound to be inconsistencies later on. And oh yeah, the whole Emperor "dark side" voice is getting a bit silly.
I feel you man...the 3OG(4,5,6) was Perfect, so much left to our Imaginations...and now such debates about what/why/when/who and now RTOTJ has been remastered to have young Anakin standing in with old Kenobi, end scene standing around Vadar's burning body...:(( doesn't seem right to me--MTFBWY:))
and Let's Leave the Jarjar thing alone...Lucas claims SW is for children, and they adored that idiot...as a SW Fan who grew up with the Ewoks of Endor, I've since come to tolerate, even appreciate Jarjar for the children's enjoyment...:)) next generation carrying on the fanboy status and all... +@end of Day it is a very successful Saga, that has morphed into a Tiny Empire... ;p
Leia's memory of her mother was the only thing that pissed me off about the prequels i was like didnt the studios actually watch the originals in detail because if they did this wouldnt have happened
Leia was raised as an Organa-what she believed she was born into, her memories were true/accurate-not relative to Padme, why you guys seem to forget this, is funny or sad...
@@jonathanbranum8976 luke even states her real mother. i was raised on the original trilogy so to me those movies are law and every movie prequel or sequel should line up to that story arc
@@TheFirstInjun Leia couldn't have known Padme-this we know. Which leaves me to hope, if not believe when Luke presses her about her Real Mother, in Leia's world-the then Senator Organa-did she/his wife pass when Leia was little/young? As I'm writing this I'm reminded of Kenobi story, the new Wan, Obi rescuing lil'Leia, in that time line mrs Organa was still alive. So, Luke hoping to find out info about his family/mommy via his now, understood to be sibling-ROTJ. Still doesn't seem relevant to Padme? I usually am a fickle lil'bitch with continuity about a Story that captures my heart/attention, and I never see an issue with this story line. Senator Organa-my wife and I have always wanted a lil'girl wrapped that up for me at the end of the Prequels, what am I missing?
