Wow, this is a really great video. And I totally agree with the presentation of the gifts. You are a wonderful instructor because your enthusiasm shines through. Thank you! ❤️
It will be here before we know it. I’m going to get my granddaughter , who is six, to make the hair ties for her friends. She’d be so proud of them. She can slide them into a Christmas card and hand them out. We’ll have a blast. I love that you included things that are easy enough for even a child to make.
Ahhh, that is such a wonderful idea! Christmas card idea is great, a sweet gift that will be very cut, but also does not make anyone feel uncomfortable or obligated. I will upload the tags for hair ties for Members tomorrow :)
I have a band like the ones from the first tip but I just wear it as a bracelet, so if the person you're giving it to has shorter hair or just isn't a ponytail person, they can wear them as bracelets too!
This video is so useful! I love to hand sew gifts for my friends and I got a lot of inspiration from this video. Also, am I the only one who finds her voice extremely relaxing? Love the video! ❤️
Oh my gosh, such neat ideas!! Thank you! A friend of mine here in my town has a store and is wanting me to help him with his store. Meaning he is thinking of doing consignment again, and no one here in town is a quilter that he knows of, so he asked me if I would be willing to help him out and my reaction was, ''yes, I certainly can''. It will not only help me get my name out there but also help get folks into his store. So, win-win for us both!! And these ideas would work out perfect especially to make and sell for around the upcoming holidays. :) Thank you for the video.
Love your ideas, your packaging and those absolutely gorgeous prints! For the coasters: since batting can be a bit pricey and I just wanted to make a small set of coasters for myself, I simply used 1 layer of crafting felt fabric :) Btw I can't wait to make some knot bandanas for myself! Perfect scrap buster for all those knits in our stashes :)
Beautiful and brilliant ideas for gifts, will be making many of them for my family. Love how you explain each step of the way too. Brilliant, many thanks.
Whew! I'm exhausted just watching you! These are great projects and so well presented. I'm looking forward to making infinity scarves for the girls in my life! Thank you!
Oh no, I hope you're exhausted in a good way :) he he, I did not mean to pile it up, I just wanted to make an inspirational video of handmade gifts. Yes, infinity scarves are awesome, I wear A LOT of those during fall/winter and spring, too.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I'm definitely inspired and motivated by your amazing video! Your quick projects videos are some of my favorites that you do. It wasn't at all too long - I love having the varied options you share. You really make sewing seem so do-able. Thank you so much! 💖
Forget gifts, I can sell this stuff. 😁 The packaging makes it look more professional than home made. The sock idea is also good for those who can't fit the averrage size sock. Thanks for sharing this with us 😊
@@Annalorraine67 around $35-40 for plaid type of scarf. Hair ties. $10-13 headband $8-11. Depending on the fabric. Tiny bows you could sell them for 50 cents
I haven't but what I would do is google the average head circumference for babies and subtract about 1"-2" from it depending on the fabric and the stretch factor.
Hi Alisa! I purchased the hair ties a while back when you first did this video and you had offered a free printable link for the hair ties but I can’t seem to locate it. Would you be kind enough to help me with this? I’m in the process of getting all trying to get all of my holiday gifts taken care of. 🥰. Thank you so much! I’d really appreciate it. 🌸
I like to make really long straps that wrap all the way around the bottom of the tote just to ensure really strong straps that will support heavy loads
Wow I’m going to do the hair ties one for myself, I’ve prebought some of them before but cutting them and tying them myself will save a lot of money :)
Another wonderful video with great ideas and tips! All the projects are wonderful and pretty and easy to do which I like lol Thank you so much for all that you do for us all you are a great teacher! You are very thoughtful and caring! You are a beautiful person inside and out! Thank you for Sharing Hugs Liz x
Shawn, my pleasure and happy to share! Check out your Membership perks as you have many of these templates available, so you don't have to make them from scratch. Including the tag for hair ties! :)
If you make a pouch with insulation,, you can make reusable lunch bags. I would recycle insulated shopping bags, especially if they have ripped. Reuse instead of throwing away.
Lovely ideas. I especially loved the headband with the knot at the front - I was expecting it to be tricky but was pleasantly surprised! No-one I know really uses headbands, but I changed my hair recently and have been looking for cute accessories so I'll make one for myself!
I love some of the ideas. I have some feedback on your bag strap though. The strap technique you showed is going to get all scrunched up and won't hold it's shape very well. I make bags all the time. For my straps, I make them 2 different ways, First - make them the way you did, but then thread the same length of nylon webbing, like you would use for a basic belt, through the tube to give it more stability. My preferred way to make a bag strap is to cut my strap 4x the desired width. Fold it in half length wise, then iron. Open up the strap and fold each of the raw edges in so they meet the middle crease. Iron the new outer folds. Fold the entire strap in half length wise again, so all the raw edges are on the inside. Topstitch both sides of the strap. This gives you a more stable strap. It doesn't get all squished up when you wrap your hand around it. You can make it even stronger by using an iron on interfacing before you start. If the ends are going to be seen, fold the short ends in about an inch or so before you start the process so the raw edges are completely encased. I hope all of this made sense.
Thank you for a great video. While the rest of the world experiences Christmas in cold, snowy weather, here in South Africa, its very hot weather! What cute table decor and gift can I make for warmer weather?
Thank you for another amazing video! I love all your gifts and extra ideas. I have to mail all my gifts this year so I'm glad you're getting me thinking now
Great Video! I've used most of the ideas in the past, but I still got a couple of new ideas. I want to pass along a "guy" gift idea. My husband plays golf and I made him a zippered bag from denim from a pair of old jeans. He puts his keys, wallet etc in it and then puts it in his golf bag. His golf buddies saw it and commented on it, so I made bags for them. They were a big hit.
Thank you for your videos. You have inspired me so much. Do you order your cardboards for the headbands? I would like to present my items like that. You are a wonderful teacher. Thank you again and again.
While watching your cat coasters being made I envisioned doing the same except the batting 1/4 inch shorter. Then see right at the edge of the batting when sewing 2 pieces together. Turn right side out, finish closing, but have all the hem NOT TURNED UNDER so you can pull threads to make cat hair fringe. I'm not sure I explained this well. Thanks so much for all your inspirations.❤🤩
Hi Dorothy, in the full zipper ouch tutorial (link in the infobox) at the end of the video I show how to make a very cute tassel the easy way! Have fun :)
I love watching you. Your methods are easy to see and your voice is soft and encouraging. I noticed a CC saying what you could make for men. I need ideas for male family members. I know the ladies/girls will love everything I do but I am always stumped with the males. Have you a video that deals with this? I really can't get it together. Hope you can help. Craftyv.
I’m new here, but I just want to compliment you on your creativity and vibrant energy. Also: It would be great to see some of your items modeled. I just think I could decide which ones I like best, if they were actually on somebody. I’m loving your videos, so THANKS!!💜
Very easy, open any free photo/image editor, design a rectangle, put graphics on it and make the top and bottom stick out as you see in the video. Then print and cut.
These are some of the best gift ideas, home-sewn/made, that I have seen. Love the packaging too. I always love wrapping gifts beautifully and they are especially appreciated by the recipients. Thanks for the video.
Regarding your scarf with the fringe - in order to stop continual fraying it would be a good idea to a) run a zig-zag stitch close to the edge, and b) tie the fringes in knots.
Loved it all😍😍😍. Where did you find the fabric that appears in the headband of 8:20 and 8:31. So gorgeous. You allways have a good taste at picking fabrics. Thank you for your input.
If the fold over elastic is latex free, it is a plus, makes it easier to sell to health care workers! Your tutorial is perfect, thanks so much for all the great ideas! One question, I make scrub caps for friends, do you have any idea how I can package them for craft show displays?
You are so cute!! I love your energy and tutorials. They are easy to understand and I have followed you and made some of the things you have featured. Love your channel! :)
Yes, you have a great Bunch of Ideas! As you were showing them, I was making my list of who would like which idea. Now, to make that list into reality before Christmas!!
