I'll jump in here too.....hehe 1) Ear buds (for day time travel) 2) Power bank/Ripcord 3) Decksaver 4) Stands for gear so you can work with them tilted at an angle. 5) SD Card. I need ROOM 6) Snacks....c'mon we ALL need 'em. ;)
If you are using a DJTechTools encoder on the Push Enter button then it won't quite fit under a Decksaver. It will but its right against the top of the encoder and the decksaver isn't sitting quite onto the 404. Any pressure on it will click the enter button. Fine if it's just sitting on your desk as it wouldn't get any pressure on it, but not a setup you'd like to put in a bag or case. I've used felt pads on the underside of the decksaver corners and at the middle to lift the whole thing up a little which gives clearance above the button and decksaver can be pressed down on without even touching the button now.
A video of your current projects organization for the mk2 would be appreciated ! Im always struggling with the distribution of pads to be organized and finishing projects

BUSH self powered speaker (rechargeable) with aux in - argos £10 - loud enough for jammin rounds friends house and acoustic guitar and talking. 8. note pad and pencil/pen - useful to keep and eye on what is where pads/banks fx etc 9. reading glasses - as i'm old git! 10. roland compact s-1 - for SMALL keybooard layout input over midi and also a hands on knob equipped analogue sounding synth (self powered) 11. bass guitar - tanglewood rebel 2000 11. electric guitar - harley benton strat copy (thomann own brand £67.00) 12. microphone - audio technica atm 63
Only problem you will get with a 1TB card or even a 256Gb full of samples will take some time to load up when you first want to load a sample. Can take up to 40 seconds.
My SP404MKii draws about 3.7watts through the USB port, 4 watts on startup. So, you can figure out the battery pack you need based on how long you want it to run. 10 hours requires 37 watt hours at 5 volts. Not a huge pack, and better than burning AA batteries.
I know some people use rechargeable AAs, it cuts down on what you have to take out but I don't know if they are able to last any longer than 2hrs. I looked into using them and they were quite expensive too. I think overall the powerbank is the best bet. Thanks a lot for the info too 👊
Thanks for doing what you. I don't know anyone who has any beat making gear. Im making beats for my fishing videos. Just picked up Lofi Drums Vol 2 right now to support. Everyone else that watches Spvids over and over should do the same and tip
I’ve ordered knobs from DJ Techtools before and didn’t have an issue, but the ones I ordered for my SP are terrible! They all sit at different heights and 2 fall right off if I hold the machine upside down. I must have gotten some faulty knobs.
I have a similar issue where 2 of mine are a bit more loose fitting and you can feel a slight rattle although it’s not as bad as what you’re experiencing.
I'm not sure there are any third-party pads out there for the MK2 yet. If they are broken I'd try and contact roland who may be able to send new ones out
