I think a sweater vest works well under a jacket as it means one less layer of fabric over your arms which is more comfortable and allows for better freedom of movement.
I do like turtle necks and the sweater vest. The turtle necks because they are quite comfortable and the feel of casualness and professional look is a good balance. I like vests in general because I have a larger chest and somewhat smaller midsection. The top layer helps cover up the excess shirt.

As a slim guy, I think crew necks can really work. Yes, I own v necks but I think you have to be careful if you are very slim. V neck on a slim guy with a t shirt doesn’t work. Crew neck can make you look broader in the same way shawl and zip collars can. I tend to wear a dress shirt or something with a collar if I have a v neck on but I can pull off a crew neck and t shirt combo.
Hi Marine, my two go-to sweaters are the sweater vest, it keeps my chest warm and looks good under a sport coat without bulking up the sleeves. my other go-to is my fatigue sweater. I've been wearing one ever since 81 when I went through Infantry Officer School.
I look much better in a jumper after losing weight. I can't wear wool though, acrylic is best for me. I love the Icelandic designs, the Nordic look in winter is just so cosy.

1. 5 years ago I bought a white cotton made aran sweater with a collar and a single brown button. I have worn it maybe 7 times. This year, I'm going to wear it a more. I already wore it once to work, and it got a few compliments. 2. I haven't worn a sweater vest since I was in high school. And I pulled it off quite well. It was actually one of my favorite outfits my senior year. I had just won a Shakespeare theater festival competition, and that came with a scholarship. Besides theater I was also in choir, and I got to play piano for one of our Christmas songs (which got recorded and televised Christmas morning). So I wore a thick stripped shirt with dark and light blue, and my sweater vest was navy. This was also in Arizona, so that was enough for winter there. TL;DR I pulled off the sweater vest look in high school.
Nice to see that Aran sweaters upgraded their fit to modern days. I bought one in Inishmore long time ago, the length is ok to my size but it fits unreasonably loose (2 times my chest and 4 times my arms atm). It's an amazing sweater, organic wool, natural colour, still smells of pure wool, keeps you more than warm. I highly recommend it.
I might've said this before, but the 'Guernsey' sweater is pronounced 'GURNZEE' with a 'z'. Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands which are BRITISH, off the North Coast of France, and that's their birthplace. Also called a 'Gansey'. Breton sweaters are from France, and related, but there ain't no 'Gurney' sweater.
The style of sweater which doesn't work for my body type is - the v neck sweater and the vest sweater . As I am a thin guy , shawl collar and turtleneck work best for my body type , half zip or half button sweater I also like but I just buyed a shawl neck sweater and I think it does a great job of adding width to my long and think neck . I actually love the v neck sweater but I'll wear it after gaining some muscle in the gym . Thanks Antonio for putting fun and knowledgeable content on youtube every wek , love your channel.
Great and informative content, love the history behind iconic garment types. Just a nitpick, but I don't think sweaters are woven. They are typically of French terry which is a knitted fabric. It is correct though that the pieces of traditional hoodie indeed are not knitted together but sewn.
My favorite sweaters are Mr. Rogers-style cardigans or cardigan sweater vests. Note that Mr. Rogers often wore full-zip cardigans (I don't). I usually wear Merino wool red or navy cardigans, however I wear some patterned sweater vests.
It's a hard one because I don't really have or wear sweaters, but I agree with everything you are saying and like ones that you like and for the ones you're not a fan of I also agree. I have only just decided that I will get a turtleneck, so that's a start.
As always, excellent and informative review and advice! I have many Marino wool turtle neck sweaters and with one undershirt, they feel and look great. I find my other v-neck and crew-neck sweaters in the same material (Banana Republic) excellent, warm and stylish.

Bigger guy here. I've been converting to suspenders. I would like to layer with sweaters, however, I have a hard time with the suspenders imprinting and looking terrible. I live in Florida, so bulking up on the material would be a horrible idea. Other than unlined jackets, is there a pointer for layering with thin layers while wearing suspenders? I would like to hide my suspenders while being sans jacket while indoors or in more casual settings. Thanks for all the content and advice, by the way.

You should be aiming for a hairstyle that you genuinely like and feel comfortable with, 'not one that attracts the most girls', I think Alex Costa, TMF have many hairstyle videos, go check them out.
Antonio, what would you recommend wearing under a turtleneck; just a t-shirt/undershirt? I wouldn't mind a dress shirt but the issue is that the collar might be too apparent underneath it. Cheers.
Grey is not as versatile! Grey goes best with contrast and rich colors. Once you start to fade the colors browns are always your most versatile as most people wear blue jeans. A starter color for a sweater is based on what you wear most. If you wear black buy grey if you wear colors go brown.
