Something satisfying about log splitting. I'd chainsaw up the downer tree and put the pieces on a trailer and haul it in on one day, Then the next I'd sit on a 5 gallon bucket and split wood from sun up to sun down suing a 22 ton motorized log splitter. I would make a mountain of firewood. Never figured out how many cords, but it was a lot. Didn't care one way or the other about the chainsawing part, but man I used to love splitting wood.

lawrence aderneck and hundreds if not thousands of dollars saved a year. It’s not backbreaking if you are smart about it. A tractor with a front end loader will save your back and don’t do large trees. Splitting is easy once you get good at it. It’s renewable and you will never fear running out of heat. Getting rid of dying and misshapen trees that are only good for firewood helps forests thrive.

Wood split into such small chunks causes a fire that burns too hot and needs constant tending because the sticks are consumed too fast. Before inventing a splitting machine, you need to actually burns wood for a few seasons to discover the ideal size of a stick. It varies, also, depending on the type of wood being used.
@houdini65-
@houdini65- 5 лет назад
Do you have a fireplace in your home or ever gone camping? Those small sticks are called kindling, it's used to get the larger pieces of wood burning. Are you serious about burning pieces of wood a few years in a row to see how it burns over time? If you are, then please make a video of your spreadsheets where you recorded your results.

If I made one of those wood splitters, it would take 20-30 seconds to charge up (at random) and the fire off like a cannon (without warning) and send the split pieces of firewood toward a ramp with a steep curve in it so they'd go in every direction imaginable. My safety glasses would be made of ordinary glass, my gloves would be made of unfinished burlap, and my work clothes would all have fringes. There'd be free beer at every workstation, floors made out of marbles, bees nests under every tool bench, and the nearest bathroom would be two towns over. I'd have ringing phones and crying babies playing over the loudspeakers and wives who just want you to help a little around the house once in a while would have a seat behind every worker all day long. And everyone would still show up to work because splitting wood is so satisfying.
