Can we all just band together and stop branding Bojan as a "failure"? The guy has been open about the mental health issues he's had since he was a teenager because of all the pressure. Sure, he didn't become a top class footballer but he sure as hell is more successful in life than all of us here. Poor dude just can't catch a break..
@@ciarangrimes7912 exactly, dude has been in and around the top 5 leagues his whole career and is just now wrapping it all up in the MLS, what's wrong with that?
@@jackcee9341 There's nothing bad about being honest with yourself and having the insight to actually go and play in a league where you feel good and worthy of your salary. I respect guys that leave Spain to go play in Croatia or leave England to go play in the US more than the dudes that warm the bench for years at high status clubs. It just shows that he wants to play and isn't in the game for the cash only. This shit is like saying that everyone that's leaving BPL to play in Ligue 1 goes to a weaker league because he didn't succeed in the stronger one.
referring as the "next" players are already wrong to begin with... they are their own individual, with different personality and different talent. Even if there exist an exact "successor" , it'll be 1 in a billion chance to find them... and it might be decades apart.
This is exactly why I want Sancho to stay at Dortmund for atleast another season. I believe the atmosphere their is great for a young player. Too many wonder kids have had their potential ruined by early big moves. Most just succumb to the pressure of playing for a big club, and others get overpaid and lack the discipline to stay serious. A young player requires a good coach, good team, and good fan base to truly reach his potential. It's also crucial for us fans to keep them humble. Calling any player the next Messi or Ronaldo won't do them any good, it's only fun for us to fantasize and discuss about their future, but it's usually bad for the player. Sorry for the long comment 😅
Mesum Naqvi yupp look at Dembele and even Emre Mor came to BVB as the next wonderkid and ended in nothing amd also just like Mario Gotze n I know they can say the world cup he won saved his career from not being a failure but it was still a pretty disappointing career imo
A lot of this sometimes has to do with parents managing the kids and making bad decisions. Also inflated egos because they’re still immature and we have put them in a very high pedestal
Spot on He should also show some appreciation to bvb since they were the one who saved his career He would eventually move on but must wait until the time is right & its not now Stay put & serve your club
Remember when people were comparing him to Odegaard, the major reason why kids go to Madrid more is bc of this example. RM kept faith in him, Barca didn't keep faith in Halilovic.
In Croatia we have more faith in his brother at the moment, a shame because he really is a great talent but lacks the mentality and work ethic to really break through. Still young, but don't hold your breath. We've seen plenty of these types before.
@@musab2528 Wtf, Odegaard doesn't want to return to real. he said he wants more time with Real Sociedad. Most real youngsters are loaned for many seasons or et for 2 seasons in the b team.
Messi had Guardiola, Ronaldo had Sir Alex. Young players require good leadership and guidance for them to flourish. Most of the guys in the list probably had their true potential ruined by bad coaches and bad company in general.
@@isaacthegoat1432 Yeah but his contract expires in 2022 and he is arguably Dortmund's best player... So staying for one more season will help his development for sure....
Adriano was still gifted he just fell in depression unlike the other players he still could’ve managed at a high level but he chose not to due to his depression n lost his love of football
This is quite a bad list. No mention of Adriano's injuries, which derailed his career. He doesn't qualify as a "failed wonderkid". Neither does van der Wiel. Sure he has had an underwhelming career, but he was never marked to be the next Dani Alves. And Halilovic still has time to revive his career. Quite a bad list when you consider it's left out Ravel Morrison, Hachim Mastour, amongst others
Going on about Brazil and the Netherlands putting pressure on young players to succeed? You do realise the English media is the world's worst offender for this. Hyping up any young player and putting tons of pressure on them and also making their transfer value incredibly inflated. For every Wayne Rooney, there's 10 Francis jeffers
Bojan had a load of injuries and never really recovered. Adriano wasn't a fail. He chose to go off the rails after injuries and personal life problems. Pretty sure he started his own band or something as the Latin Americans love their music.
I dont think that was fair to include Bojinov in this one. He got injured on his first game for City, cant be good for the mindset of a player settling into a new club at that age
Got Some more Lucas piazon Kalas Marko marin Taarabt Boufal David luiz (debatable) Barkley Vietto Lovren Ben arfa Ihenacho Van ginkel Lucas silva (guy who was at Real Madrid) Ryan bertrand
Barkley, Luiz, loveren, ihenacho. What are you dumb. ihenacho is 23 my guy. Luiz has won throphies in France while playing a starting spot in the psg set up, he’s a premier league winner and a UCL winner. Loveren is going to win the premier with Liverpool, he won the champions league and he helped Croatia to the World Cup final, Barkley is absolutely beasting at Chelsea he’s like on fire, his runs his plays passes, and his technical intelligence. Bro don’t disrespect theses players. Do you even watch football.
not really a failed wonder kid is he demanded a €222 million euro transfer, has 101 caps and 61 goals for Brazil and has more goal contributions then appearances for psg with 108 goal contributions to 80 games calling neymar a failed wonderkid is calling every sub tier player to him failed too
Neymar was a wonder kid coming out of Brazil, and he was 19 or 20 then, Neymar demanded no fee PSG just activated it, yeah you would expect someone like Neymar to score that many goals in a league that bad 🙂
you're back with your shitty opinions firstly gotze has played for the two biggest teams in germany, played 60+ times for germany and scored that goal that won them the world cup in 2014
plus el shaarawy has a decent career playing for two big teams in Italy milan and roma and has played 25 times for Italy they're not failures just not as good as people wanted them to be
