Hearing all these stories about him helping others and lifting him up, Bray really did sound like the second coming of the Undertaker. Not just in his gimmick, but in the way he handled himself and others. It really feels like he could have taken on the mantle of the benevolent locker room leader and top guy willing to help others get over...

Well if you think about it if he was still alive maybe bo wouldn't have get the opprotunity to shine in the wrestling world. We all know how the fiend and bray were the fan favorites in the world. I literally took the day off work and just sat in silence all day. I’ve been a fan of bray since I met him at a house show in 2013. It was my 10th birthday and he was hosting meet and greets with other superstars that night, he signed my Hawaiian shirt that looked just like the one he had (it definitely doesn’t fit me now lol, but I’m never getting rid of it) and I told him it was my birthday and I wanted to be just like him when I was older, he kneeled down to me and wished me a happy birthday and said “that sounds like a great idea little man, make me a promise me that you stick with it, you got the whole world in your hands kid, I believe in you.” And I know it seems like he’s just saying what he needs to, but I still think about it daily, im actually about to start training in the ring, all because of him, I want to do the creepy, supernatural, storytelling wrestling. He’s been my favorite ever since then and I have an entire character developed about a lost firefly that idolized the words of the red, looking to reignite his flame in a new style, hopefully I’ll be able to carry on his name and make sure nobody forgets the name bray wyatt

I grew up watching wrestling with my grandparents all through the 90s. My grandma passed away in 2004 and my grandpa followed in 2006. I continued watching but around 2009 I just couldn't stick with it. The product had become to stale for me to have any interest. In 2013 I had caught wind of the Wyatt family and I tuned in when the early vignettes had made their way to the main roster ahead of their debut and I was immediately hooked. Hell, they became the only reason I watched despite the fact that their first target was Kane, and he was my 2nd favorite wrestler of all time behind Bret. Anyway, the Wyatt family, and eventually Bray and then the Fiend kept me engaged with WWE. They were the only reason I was able to continue enjoying something I had shared with my late grandparents for so many years. In 2021 when they fired him, I stopped watching. I tried to get into AEW and did for a little bit but the level of interest was nothing compared to what Windham allowed me to have for all those years. Then in mid to late 2022 I heard about Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" being played in the darkened arenas and I heard about the first QR code and I knew. I knew it was him. The return at Extreme Rules is one of my favorite moments in the history of wrestling. I knew we were all in for such a special run and I was so happy that Windham was back to keep telling his story. When he passed away in August of 2023 I knew in my heart I would never be able to watch professional wrestling again. The man who had single handedly kept me interested for nearly a decade was gone and I knew that something I had shared with my late grandparents as a child would no longer be part of my life. It broke my heart. When I heard about the Bray documentary on Peacock, I purchased a one month subscription just to watch it. While watching I smiled, and teared up, and enjoyed rewatching his career as I'd done so many times via youtube over the years. Then the documentary wrapped up....and the lantern illuminated again. My heart dropped as I imagined what it might mean. Then I heard about "Night bird" playing in darkened arenas and I heard about a new QR code. Once again, I knew... Bray was an artist and even in death he's allowed me to be a wrestling fan a little bit longer. I can't even begin to explain my gratitude to Windham, Taylor, and all of the Wyatt Sick6 for letting me be a fan a little bit longer and continue to be engaged in something I shared with my grandparents for all those years.

I don't think a wrestler's death has ever hit me as hard as Bray Wyatt. It still hits me. I was watching Raw clips with my girlfriend, and when the opening note of Shatter hit, tears still start, and after that VHS I was just no good. You know he's sitting with Brodie right now, watching them carry on the story and legacy.

I get the frustration, it sux!! Especially knowing Vince would never book Taker that way. But at the same time, Bray is a multiple time world champion and beloved by the wrestling community. When you have the respect and accolades Bray has gotten, wins and losses truly do not matter. He reached the mountain top in wrestling, that so many people dream of reaching, and nothing can take that away. However, there’s one thing I’m furious about when it comes to WWE treatment of Bray (and all their talent, but particularly Bray) it’s the fact that they required them to get the vaccs. If you recall, the reports would always say the cause was an “unnamed heart condition”, and to this day they still have not named it. But I’d be willing to bet anything that I know the name of it, myocarditis. And it wasn’t so much caused by the virus, but instead the supposed remedy.

Bray Wyatt as a character was truly one-of-a-kind. A unique blend of charisma and psychopathy, and one of the most creative minds in the business. However, Windham Rotunda the man was truly a remarkable human being. I'm surprised this story was not mentioned in this countdown, but an autistic child was beaten up at school, and his Bray Wyatt shirt was cut up by the attacking bully. The boy's mother posted about it, and when Windham (as Bray Wyatt) saw this, he told the mother to DM him her child's shirt size and where to send it. Truly selfless!

When I heard of his passing, it really hit me differently. I don't know exactly why, maybe because he wasn't much older than me or because I had always loved his work and everything you heard around him (although much of it only came out afterwards). He really was one of a kind. At the time, I had only started watching wrestling again. I'd stopped in 2018 or so, because of how bad some of the stories (if there were any) had gotten. I know, WWE isn't the only promotion, but I also didn't wanna get into a new one. Plus, I had less time. Then the pandemic came and I spent my time on other stuff, and the whole thing with McMahon didn't really make me wanna start watching again. I kept an eye on a few people I'd been a fan of, watched their matches and dipped into your news at times, but nothing more. But a few weeks before Bray died, I'd seen a couple of people talk about how for weeks and months the product had been much better with Triple H having more influence. And the rumors came up that Bray was about to return, so I started watching again, because I didn't wanna miss that. Then the news hit. I was devastated. But the tribute they (and the fans!) gave him on the next episode, was really, really good. I cried, but they handled it just about right. I'll never forget the image of Erick and Braun hugging and crying, while the fans chanted "he had the whole world in his hands". And these days, we can see his legacy finally getting the recognition it deserved, and I'm very much looking forward to what's next with the Wyatt Sick6. Plus I love that his brother gets to continue what he started.

So many wrestlers are terrible people off-screen. Bray was a perfect example of the wrestler that is a great guy in real life. When the Wyatt Family debuted I was not a fan, but Luke Harper pulled me into their twisted story. Both of these men were great guys off-stage but played sickos on TV. Isn't that how it should be? I miss both of these guys. I hope they are sitting together watching some great matches.
