Hypnotic Poison was always my favorite of the Poison line; but I’m sure you’ve already guessed that based on the comment I left on your ‘Most Complimented Fragrances’ video. 🤭 I do have love for the entire line, though! I have a bit of a story behind Salome. I’ve been quietly networking with perfumers over the last three years, developing scents based on characters from my literary project, to release as merchandise in the future. One of the pivotal characters is a royal, who is based on the concept of ‘public paranoia surrounding the upper class and their secret inner world’. He seems charming and warm on the surface, but it turns out that behind closed doors, he’s rather naughty. I first picked ‘Bal à Versailles by Jean Desprez’ as the inspiration for his scent, but informed one of the perfumers I’d like it to be slightly “darker and naughtier”. Said perfumer turned around and sent me a sample of ‘Salome by Papillon Artisan Perfumes’ and asked me if that was closer to what I was imagining, and I said “Yes!” I’ve been a fan ever since. What a masterpiece! For me, who is a gourmand and powder lover at heart, it’s a bit challenging; but it is a masterpiece none the less. I usually wear it at home alone, because while I feel it doesn’t suit my personality or look, I adore the scent. Intoxicating!

I've never even tried it but because of you I have been eyeballing it lately. 🤩🤩 Passing it in the stores saying, "someday sweet Eden, someday". The Kamala scent!! Forever scents: * Guerlain L'Heure Bleue (I have enough to last me a long, long time) * Guerlain Jicky (three bottles, including very vintage parfum, so I'm set) * Helmut Lang EdP/EdC (I'm wearing the EdP today, bought new in the early 2000s, and am constantly on the hunt for backups) * Aftelier Parfum Prive (given that it's a single creator scent, this might be wishful thinking-if Mandy Aftel stops creating before I run out, I shall weep, so perhaps getting a tiny backup bottle is in order) * Lush Tramp (I have both the body spray and the old Kitchen perfume and will ration them if need be just to always have them) * Chanel Cuir de Russie (my parfum should last a while, thankfully, but I refuse to allow myself to run out of it) * Serge Lutens Muscs Koublai Khan (one day, I'll give up and buy a bell jar) * Serge Lutens Fils de Joie (from first sniff, which is good as I blind-bought a 100 ml bottle after one of your reviews, and I might buy another just in case of emergency) * Christian Dior Dune (I still have the bottle I bought in 1995, as a little goes a very long way, as well as a small backup and a small bottle of the pure parfum) * Fendi (when I find it in an antique store, I buy it, so I am set for life, especially as it's a strong, strong scent that needs only a small application to project) Honorable mentions go to White Shoulders (vintage), which was my first perfume as a teen, and Guerlain Samsara (vintage).
Hi! I love Lheure Bleue too and I wanted to tell you that I remember Fendi very well! I used to sell it behind the counter at a dept store in the late 80's and 90's. It was so very unique and beautiful! Berry Gordy the record producer came into my store and bought a bottle! Fendi Uomo was amazing too! I have a vintage mini! Anyhoo, just had to shout when I saw you mention those fragrances because Fendi has not been experienced by that many noses I don't think and I've never tried anything that smelled similar! Cheers!
@@talktothehandreviews my mother picked up a small sample of Fendi somewhere around that time, and I, being a teenager absconded with said sample shortly after I smelled it. I had never smelled anything quite like it; it just smelled so luxurious and complicated and divine!

I don’t have Midnight Poison, but I do own vintage Pure Poison Gabi, and now you’ve got me thinking about what I’m going to wear to the polls when I vote come November 🇺🇸 💙!
