The good thing about Askren is that he is a chill dude, great loser, and he doesn’t give a crap what any of us think of his legacy. That attitude makes his legacy a good one.
Glad to hear that fucking awful music is gone. It was an instrumental track but had the guy beatboxing instead of just using a drum track, you'd just hear the guy pspsping in your ears if you were listening with headphones and it was so bad, and had cringy adlibs (eg "damn boy"), just sounded fucking horrible all around
When Holm kicked Ronda in the head and knocked her out is by far one of my favorite mma moments in history. Ronda was one of the most classless champions in ufc history literally had no humility at all
She also had everybody in her camp fueling her arrogance. I'm not sure she would have been quite so classless had she been in a better camp, with better coaches and constantly surrounded by stone cold killers. I guess we'll never know
Brock was arrested for illegally receiving a shipment of growth hormone while he was in OVW(one of WWE's developmental territories at that time). He beat it on a technicality, though. He was on the gas long before he ever made it to UFC. It's honestly surprising nobody in the mma media dug that story up when he first transitioned.
The people who believe Mark Hunt wasn't on PEDs fighting in his 40s are equally delusional. If you think any champion athlete isn't on them, you're delusional. Lesnar has top tier genetics regardless of PED use.
@@ahadmerchant9498 to me jones was always the better fighter, but GSP the greater one. Similar to how ali will always be the greatest boxer ever to me even though there were probably better ones
@@ahadmerchant9498 thats how i feel. in terms of pure resume jon probably takes it over GSP, but the drugs, the peds, the being a piece of shit outside of the arena, i cant put him in goat contention over people like gsp, mm or even khabib
No excuses for Anderson. He said it himself. "Those that get caught haven't just started doing it, they've been doing for years on top before they got caught." Anderson Silva Lance Armstrong'd you all.
Yup. My only counter is that almost everyone, especially in Middleweight and pretty much all his opponents were also on PEDs. So, he would have been at a major disadvantage if he wasn't juicing most of his career. A clean MW division would have proven Bisping to be the top of the food chain for his generation.
@@Dukeflyhawker At that point though we're basically making just excuses for the guy because we love him. We'd never give Jon Jones the same amount of leniency lets be honest. You have to be consistent and call a spade a spade, the man was a proven drug cheat. He's still the greatest Middleweight of all time and a top 5 GOAT fighter, but he did tarnish his legacy with those drug test failures and consecutive losses.
@@madgavin7568 no, I don't make excuses out of love. With Jones and Anderson, I always cheered against them during their title runs. I just recognize cheating was rampant pre usada and probably even today. testing just hasn't caught up. There's just no way to argue in favour for anyone else as the goat of 185 or 205. Discount those two and we have to go back to Frank Shamrock and Tito Ortiz for longest title runs at those respective weight classes.

The more you go into Gracies the more you realies they are fake Nice guys all of them... And no he didnt make Pride, he went there to get his head kicked by Sakuraba the OG..
You know what’s sad about Garfield hating Mondays? The fact that Mondays are the day that John goes back to work after having a couple days to spend with Garfield. Garfield doesn’t hate Mondays, he just misses John
11:47 - Hilariously, Cody didn't just accuse TJ of using PEDs, he actually said *_"You're the one who showed everyone how to do it at Team Alpha Male."_* So, he basically admitted that he (Cody) and everyone else who trained at Team Alpha Male were on PEDs as well! Cody is..... shall we say: *_Not_* the sharpest tool in the shed? 🤣
@@olliefoxx7165 There was no prime Hendricks. Only PED Hendricks. To put into perspective, both Jonny and GSP fought their last MMA fights at Middleweight, at UFC 217. Except Georges was 36 years old and winning the title, while Hendricks was 34 and on the end of a 3-7 record in his last 10 fights, and hadn't knocked a guy down, let alone out, since before he became a #1 contender. He goes down as one of weakest champions in UFC welterweight history
@@Dukeflyhawker exactly lmao, theres no such thing as prime hendricks. Only ped/trt hendricks. On the same night of ufc 217. GSP became a double champ. And hendricks got tko'd by paulo costa increasing his losing streak to 4. LMAO
I like how you got Chiesa up there flipping out about his mom as Tommy narrates "talking about a fighter's significant other" it's the little things MMA on point that makes you guys the best
Don’t forget TJ was very enthusiastic to kill the Flyweight Division, meaning a lot of men would’ve lost their jobs, after beating Cejudo. Thank God none of that happened.
@Googlag Inmate #666 i think they use the fence because its kinda flexible and allows more movement and grappling when the fighters are up against it, being pushed on something hard and flat like plexiglass could make grappling more difficult
Cody garbrant is definitely on this list now especially after last weekend with his lose to kia kara france. 1-6 in his last 7 from beat cruz to 6 straight Ls in different divisions
I never took PED usage as a big L considering 1st that almost every great fighter has had some sort of PED usage in their history and also the fact that a lot of the guys competing are using too and just not getting caught. It’s a foolish notion to think that they don’t still have a way to get away with using
Yeah same. Im glad we have testing, so atleast the gear usage is under control tho. Wouldnt want fighters on ungodly amounts of halo running around, so at least the testing limits what and how much they can take
@@supersaiyansalamence bro you can literally watch interviews of USADA representatives saying that they know these guys have ways to get around the testing. They aren’t following them around everywhere at all points in time. Especially guys out of the country.
Is there any list where Jon Jones isnt at the top?? He's pfp #1 at Most arrests Most stripped titles Most cancelled events Most eyepokes Most illegal strikes Most DUIs Most wasted potential Most lines snorted Most HOF defeated Most controversial decisions Most title defenses Most Press Conference bouts Most Dana White calls unanswered Most Main event venue switches
most pregnant women's arms broken. most time spent inside, sorry underneath, the octagon. most tweets sent during ex-opponents' fights. most tweets sent during Adesanya fights. most tweets deleted, tied with Conor.
@@hhiippiittyy There is a few of thoses where if he wasnt the ufcs biggest star he most likely would of been cut from the ufc... but since hes mcgregor dana still wants to be his friend :D
It’s insane Chanel sonnen probably used peds for most of his career and he still has probably the biggest fan base post career than any other retired mma fighters
@Larry Rothstein I don’t really get how that makes it that much better tbh so he told the truth about cheating and he still wasn’t good enough to be champ don’t get me wrong just like every other mma fan I think chael is the goat of trash talk and is funny af but I don’t get why fans worship him lol
The beginning of the end for BJ Penn was after the first Edgar fight which was a close decision lost on judges score cards as champion and I think should be ranked higher than Anderson Silva
Silva was the most dominant Champion ever, even more dominant than Jones or GSP. Penn was a 2 division champ and still tied for most LW title defenses, but it's only 3. Anderson won 14 straight in two divisions after winning the title, 10 officially as title defenses. But Penn never tested positive, so there is that as well. However Anderson still came back after the leg break and was at least competitive. Penn ended his career with losses to Dennis Siver, Ryan Hall and Clay Guida
Funniest thing about this is Ben repeatedly said how little losing to Jake would matter to him. He made the easiest massive paycheck of his life (imo for diving), he went back home happy and 500k+ richer. He left mma with a solid 19-2 record nothing takes away from that 😂
conor is a two divisions champ ran through featherweight division broke aldo 10 year win streak had one of the best performance in ufc against eddie lost to the best lightweight of all time khabib and lost to the 2nd best lightweight of all time dustin and that ruined his legacy 😂
@Googlag Inmate #666 i never said that conor has the most impressive resume and yes there are fighters with better resume if not dustin who is the 2nd best lightweight just look at the fighters dustin has faced
@@SK-ix8jb anyone of today would beat Rousey, Tate is delusional thinking she can beat Amanda though after failing to finish a 40 something year old fighter on a losing streak on her way out

Jake has to hide behind Boxing's rule set. That needs to be brought to light MUCH MUCH MORE. He's hiding behind it with the "Boxing pays more" claim. Boxing only pays more to it's very top 0.01% of competitors (Canelo, Floyd etc) There's tons of lower tier Boxers working construction by day. At least most of the 600-700 UFC fighters have ONE JOB and their families are comfortable at least in relation to 99% of Boxers.
@@Head318Hunter im sure boxers get a bigger revenue as a whole. You're right about boxers having day jobs, but Also, many ufc ufc fighters have too. I seriously doubt most ufc fighters make enough, it's the only major sport organisation where fighters constantly beg money from their fans.
@@yeshuasage3724 you see what the get paided . The average ufc fighter makes way more then the average American does yearly in just one fight. The AVERAGE ufc fighter. Just because they beg for money doesn't mean then didnt start the year with 100k in saving. It doesn't mean they are bankrupt lol. It means they have expensive habits in their lives and they want handouts for that. Your acting like McDonald's workers make more money then fighters lol
4:00 the gracies made the rules so they could take down people easy (no back or backhead punches allowed) and invited strikers that in the early days didnt know how to defend a takedown without elbows to the back and head. its not cheating if you make the rules
It might just be me but Lesnar failing a drug test after returning from a several year layoff and having never failed a test before doesn’t tarnish a legacy that includes him going out there and fighting while dying of diverticulitis
@@AmHotGarbage He still has a good argument for it if we’re just talking about who did the best in their primes tbh. Not only does he have the same amount of title defenses, they were all just as dominant, if not more, than Khabibs. He was also considered the #1 lightweight in the world by virtually everybody for years before he even won the title, and unlike Khabib he actually moved up to welterweight and even won the belt there against a prime Matt Hughes, one of the top 3-4 greatest Welterweights of all time.
About Brock. Estrogen blockers aren't performance enhancing but they're needed when you take absurd amounts of steroids so you won't grow milkers. No, I'm not joking about this just take a look at Izzy when he fought Costa. He had a teet and a half!!
This is why my respect for GSP and Khabib is very high, in this sport keeping a clean legacy is near impossible. DC and Nick Diaz also worthy of their legacies even with the loses.
@@Ijbvfknnn lol did i hurt your feelings too? of course it hurts for dc, but it doesnt deny the fact that cormier couldnt control his emotions to maintain a level of composure of a professional sportsman.. DC wasnt the first champ to lose his title.
GSP had that decision against Hendricks he never ran back. Also beat a one-eyed, end-of-the road Bisping and then vacated despite there being an interim champion in line. Honestly, he's lucky Whittaker was respectful enough to let that vacation go through without drama, knowing how gullible the fans are.
DJ getting finished by Adriano Moraes in One FC does suck though, and chances are Moraes will have his number which will be a sticking point for DJ's critics.
Rousey fought everybody she was asked to fight, never dodged anyone, she created the women's division in the UFC, and made it what it is today. She carried the UFC by herself for 3 or 4 years. Rousey's downfall was because she thought she was so good that she didn't have to train seriously anymore for her fights(Nunez being the exception), which was stupid, she looked totally emaciated going into the Holm fight, which even my 12 year old noticed her appearance, nor did she train for her second fight against Tate. She was arrogant and didn't show good sportsmanship like conduct all the time, She wasn't a very likable person sometimes, but she won a medal in the Olympics in Judo, she won more title defense matches than anybody in the UFC I believe, except Andersen Silvia, and maybe Mighty Mouse, and was a true pioneer in women's MMA in the UFC. Like her or not, she won a metal in the Olympics, only lost twice in her entire MMA career, and without her, we would have never seen people like Joanna J, Thug Rose, Valentina, Mesha Tate, Nunez, Holly Holm, or Weili, in the UFC. I understand why there are haters in both the women's and men's divisions of the UFC, but I think that says more about the haters than it does the fighters they hate. Just my opinion.
I feel like it's easier to forgive aging fighters for the ped use because they're aging. That's gotta play with your mind. Also the peds might have been used to give them back some of the aggression and explosiveness they had when they were younger. Especially when you consider an elite fighters mantality, the level of younger constantly improving competition, the culture of the sport and it's competitors, etc. Just my opinion is all.
the Gracie family also got into politic talk last election here in Brasil. a shitstorm was made in the RJ jiu-jitsu association because of this, the family name and their gyms were marked since some of the family members openly sided and even campaigned for the actual president
I got to be honest, I think all the promotion leading Up to Ben's fight really made him look better. I am a casual person who has been brought to the sport more recently from all these expedition fights, and have so much respect for how these fighters handle themselfs and the skill it really takes to do some of this. Definitely have gained more respect for the sport after watching some more of it. But all I knew about Ben was some trash talk he had and videos of him annoying Dana. When I started to watch his interviews leading up to the Jake Paul fight, I saw someone who conducted themself with respect, was a family man, and all around a polite guy. I actually quite enjoyed the image he was portraying and was completely different then the narrative I was lead to believe. So all in all I know it sucks to have a loss to Jake, but I do really believe in my above statment, I think this fight actually did well to showcase his character and had more people backing him from the MMA side that had maybe disregarded him previously.
Man watching this video as an MMA Fighter makes me realize how quick it all can change for the worst and honestly makes me kind of not care about making fans happy.
Everyone forgets that all of TJ’s samples were retested after the Cejudo fight for EPO bc it’s not tested in every fight and they found nothing. I just maintain that Cody and Faber are super salty
Honestly, with how poor Mcgregor's record has generally been since stepping up in competition, I don't think history will look back fondly on his career.
@@AmHotGarbage Aldo and Alvarez are solid enough wins. Regardless of what point of their careers they were in, they were still good champs at the time. However, they're pretty much his only solid wins. Mendez was a short notice replacement whose career was beginning to fade at that point. And Diaz... come on. He's a great guy, but there's a reason he's never won a world title (or even a made-up title for that matter) for someone who has had as many fights as he had.

Conor's legacy was cemented when he beat Aldo & Alvarez becoming the first Champ Champ. Not to mention all the beasts he smashed at 145 on his way up. He just failed to significantly add on to it thereafter. All the losses and negative attention that has happened since then is unfortunate, but it can't tarnish his achievements. Like, Pete Rose doesn't stop being the most successful hitter of all time just because he gambled and cheated as a manager later on.
In Royces defense, even if he was enhanced in the early days, he was a smaller enhanced guy against bigger enhanced guys, so its still a badass accomplishment
Brocks a tough one. I feel like his match on Marc Hunt is not shocking. He looks like the Villian he plays as and that's what built him up from the start. Almost makes Brock more Brock if that's even possible lol.
I’m starting to realize MMA careers are like drug dealing… you need to make your money and get out while your on top ! LoL Ben, Conor, Woodley, Silva, the list goes on… all were hugely kings of their sector of the sport… and they all fell !
Connor’s legacy is not tarnished. Mike Tyson went to prison for rape, told Lennox Lewis he wants to eat his children and stomp on their testicles… today he’s considered a legend and all is forgiven. Time heals all wounds.
In Rousey's defense , 3 wins against Meisha Tate and a win over Liz Carmouche , Cat Zingano and a young Julia Budd ( Budd's only loss for 5 years until she lost to Cyborg ) so I wouldn't call her competition " less than worthy " opponents as the narrator suggests ( he said it with different words but thats what he said and that's not true )
