Speaking of Lego boats: I'd love to see waterproof electric components and, potentially, even controllable Lego ballast tanks. It would be amazing to be able to build an RC submarine to swim around a swimming pool. Alternatively, you could build underwater vehicles that drive along the bottom. If there are signal issues, they might be able to do something with ultrasound, like maybe there's a little floater with a wire that plugs into your phone's audio jack.

The only problem with the submarine idea(btw great idea)is LEGO would have to make a radio control and and a radio receiver and I don’t think they will do that

I was thinking that long that long lines in actuality though power functions is somewhat compatible now at least there are ways of doing it not sure if this is completely rolled out as in terms of getting the bugs out of it per se. But with the powered up system and all that is there is the color / distance sensor or whatever they call it I can't even keep up sorry. But unbenounced most there is an infrared emitter in there and this can communicate with the Lego Power functions remote control receivers. Thus giving compatibility however it would probably be quite awkward in some cases!!!! Which in practice would allow the use of a RC buggy motor for more power. Additional downside is one more battery pack as well!! However this does get interesting in the effect it theoretically you could actually control up to more than eight Motors at a time not talking about just how it up and all that other Motors but actual power functions Motors. This could be done by building an enclosure that would completely Shield all of that from light. One would also want to close off where any wiring exits as well. This would probably be best for things that were fixed in place but just need a lot of motors because of the bulk of the assembly. Essentially you could have up to four power functions infrared receivers with the infrared window all point in the same way and near each other and the powered up distance sensor or whatever you call it also color sensor whatever. In close proximity encased in some sort light tight Lego enclosure. And if it were possible on the powered up system to do more than one of those sensors don't know if this is or not. One could theoretically have as many groups of eight Motors at least up to that. As one would have ports available. Also in terms of other things mentioned in this video The heart referring to remotely controlling the pneumatics is very much possible already. One could use a motor to control one of the newest pneumatic control valves directly or indirectly some sort of return to Center mechanism. But that would require flood control Channel pneumatic control. Although one could Multiplex it Mike has been done with mechanical functions before in other Lego sets. Such as a gearbox with a motor selecting two different sets of outputs for the same Motors leaving other channels free for controlling other things either on this multiplexer or straight up just its own thing. Also with the power function system one could have done this strictly electrically well besides a motor driving the switching mechanism. All you have to do is used to polarity switches at certain angles to each other and switch between with a motor and you can pretty much mostly double your number outputs but again this is complicated just like other Solutions. I once saw something like this doing with the old Lego interface b and 9 volt polarity switches although a few of the motor channels were used to control other things and also for a few lights. Also I saw the same person who do the same sort of thing accept multiple Banks of motors being switched between the outputs. It was using an old laptop had a Serial serial port and also they were using a Lego interface a for other things which was 44.5 volt system not 9 volt. and yes that was originally designed to use the parallel printer port although in some cases that used a custom card and a war connector cable depending on the computer system it was being used on. There was even an IBM PC card specifically for it you are no parallel port would have been an option. By the way the cable that he had for this was a custom cable although using the intended method to drive it from the laptop parallel port. Don't know for sure I think it was a custom Linux program to operate all that?

Also in terms of on the video where they were talkin about sound and a speaker. That would definitely be doable all you would need would be a firmware update theoretically. Since the motor Drive lines are already there. AKA positive and negative output that are reversible. Wouldn't take much circuitry although there would need to be a safety circuit that would prevent damage to the speaker if for some reason straight-up DC current were supplied of course that would burn out any speaker voice coil. But this would probably incorporate some sort of amplifier potentially or a volume control at least. It can in terms of the Hub can already do pwm 4 speed control of course. As a matter of fact on the old rcx Mindstorms system there is firmware can't remember which one that can actually use one of the Lego communities created programming languages That can actually produce AC output it would be square wave more than likely or close to it although theoretically could be marginally in a bit if you switched it fast enough but unfortunately would be either 4 on 4 off so definitely Square wave. Which in that case was intended at least with one of the functions to be used with ball railroad digital command control receivers for Lego 9 volt cramps with modified vicowl of course if this is acceptable to you Lego purist not so much. Also it's possible to communicate from one RCA X to another in some of these languages without using infrared by using a light sensor and a light source or two light sensors one as a source of light and one is a receiver how to do digital communication. It's also possible to switch between float and brake on an output to do that but it's more risky somewhat to do that with an input directly or either or add some resistance in line although there are ways of doing that that's 100% Lego believe it or not. But it gets complicated with the hook up with a 9 volt system of course. Getting ahead of myself but there's all kinds of ways of doing things that one would not think of. Also another potential way of doing potentially a connection of the powerful emotion system to the the powered up system or powered Plus or whatever it's called I can't keep up sorry. Would be to have a powered up 2 power functions converter cable. The power of system is of the same voltages as the 9 volt system already. At least in terms of the voltage range could do even if rechargeable batteries for used that is. Or just regular disposable batteries as well! But what would be better is if there could be a powered up/ whatever the system's name is again can't remember. Essentially a hub that would plug into the Hub that would have one input cable and then have a battery box built-in or perhaps a powerful emotions cable for power input of some description and then house powerful emotion Sports 4 maybe four or more outputs. There could be some additional smart sin that Hub as well. Such being able to monitor motor or other accessory current draw ta be able to tell for motor stalls and other conditions and definitely would need to support the call functions Servo motor. Also it's me it seems like the pwm speed control on leave power function system in terms of the seven speed levels and off and potentially break. And of course both forward and reverse. They have been a hold over from the earlier 9 volt system not modern Mindstorms or anything like that but even before month storage was even released perhaps even before the film that started? Vigo interface B had a very similar idea don't know if the pwm frequencies were in the same or anything but theoretically the it could run the servo Motors I think I've heard that they would have tried and it worked but cannot confirm this. eventually I would like to get at least two of the interface b's. These could be easily operated with USB to serial port adapter. Probably best bet would be some sort Linux system of some description. one good option would be Raspberry Pi. And since of course it would have USB go to S Wi-Fi excetera and more. Which would being compatibility with the powered up system and all that as well. Plus a custom application perhaps combined with a touch screen. As well of course you have all the general purpose Ayo and other functions with those pins as well. you could even do infrared for other devices well with power functions and potentially even communicating with the rcx and other Lego controllers as well. Theoretically you could even do Vile visual light Link. of course you would Implement a two-way infrared. and then of course with the wireless you would also be able to communicate with the other and newer Mindstorms systems as well the generations before powering up came out that is. probably best solution would definitely be Raspberry Pi since it would be so flexible and can be easily customized. Add something like a PlayStation controller and there you go. One could even to build something that could do all that that could be battery powered. it could be a handheld device that could act as a master remote for everything. and perhaps do some sort of Wireless for a call for anything that would be plugged straight in normally. oh and one more thing having USB brings up the potential of even using the we do at least the USB version of it as well. Even potentially the newer version although not sure how useful that would be because it's kind of anemic. Also eventually all Lego Hardware is supposedly going to be becoming open source some of which has already been released at least the older Hardware but haven't been keeping up with the details yet

I personally think that LEGO should introduce an updated Powered UP version of the RC Buggy Motor (Like a Powered Up S-Motor). Even if it means sacrificing a higher voltage battery box (which is honestly not as likely), the motor should still be able to spin faster than all other motors at the hub's current power supply. And for all those who vote in favor of improvements to the LEGO Technic system, I may be releasing a petition for these changes soon, so you might want to stay tuned.

Automatic transmissions are either kinetic energy controlled CVT-s or computer controlled planetary gear-clutch stages. None of them are really feasible in Lego systems, or would be too big and heavy / single closed units not really fun to play with. Same with torque converters. However a planetary gear set would be nice to have. They only need to bring a ring gear to the table. It is possible to build a pneumatic engine with a cylinder and a valve. Put 2 of them together with 90° phase offset and you have almost constant torque all around the rev cycle. A two way solenoid with spring retention would be nice to pair up with a pneumatic valve for RC controlled pneumatics.

Here's something that would be amazing: a way to mount a phone on a creation to give it a camera, then remote control it on a computer (or another phone). The commands would go through the internet to your phone, then over Bluetooth to the Lego creation. The camera feed would go over the internet to the computer. This would have some very noticable lag, but would allow you to use it as a drone without raising the price tag. It would also let you give the creation a display (using the front camera and screen) and a speaker, which could add extra play features. The phone mount could be constructed from existing parts, adjustable with sliding cross axles to fit most phones, and use some of those rubber pieces to avoid scratching. I've done so before on NXT creations and it works decently well, although I'm controlling it through my computer's bluetooth (doing a video call to the phone for a feed) so the range is limited. Connecting to internet would give effectively infinite range for phones, or at least a connection around the house for wifi-only devices.

This could be done simply enough with a 3rd party app, but no one has made one yet, unfortunately. I think it would be a good idea for Lego to look into it, since it would let them add features and gimmicks.

I actually kind of like the idea of a phone-based Mindstorms. It could even use existing power bricks, since you'd essentially be programming an automatic remote control. That would mean that anyone who gets a single Technic set could potentially start learning to code. They could get around the lack of sensors in the existing bricks by taking advantage of a phone's existing sensors (camera, accelerometer, gyros, microphone, and even temperature). There's no touch sensor, sadly, but a phone's autofocus would allow for basic rangefinding and a sudden jolt could indicate if it hit an obstacle.

@@ENCHANTMEN_ The Technic brick has accelerometer and gyro, even a "gesture" sensor that can detect certain behaviors in those sensors (like dropping it or it bumping). This is available right now to app/software developers through their documentation.

If LEGO made remotes for Powered Up or Control+ or just reintroduced Power Functions but Control+ or something, Remote Controlled Pneumatics would be easier to make and LEGO Technic sets with remotely controlled pneumatics would exist by now.

you can buy a small Bluetooth speaker and put it in a set, it will be exactly the same, you can even 3d print lego style housing for that.

Have you seen LEGO vacuum engines? I just built a tractor with one that can pull a real 60 pound engine. Much more torque and rpm then pneumatic engines.

For the technic speaker, a solution I thought of was to put a small Bluetooth speaker in your model and connect it to your phone while using the app. Never tried it though.

I think LEGO Technic should introduce LEGO Technic trains to be honest. I know that idea is unheard of and I'm probably crazy saying LEGO Technic should introduce trains, but come on, you gotta admit that is a game-changer for LEGO Technic

In my opinion, the most important of these is bearings. In order for a model to reach a velocity of 50mph (80kph), a 68.8mm diameter tire has to rotate 102 times per second. The friction produced by the moving parts would cause the ABS plastic to melt even in a relatively light model of a few hundred grams. Of course, the mass of the model is relative to the amount of time it takes for the parts to melt. Lubricants can be used to reduce friction but are messy and attract dirt and dust which conversely accelerates wear. Even slow-moving GBC modules will eventually wear out parts from friction.

@Jeremy Davis I remember when the Lego education system first came out with the computer interfaces bearface a an interface B. And some reading and on the internet of course is that they encourage the kids to I think about how one day the Entire Computer could fit in hey single Lego brick. Actually now that's a thing Mindstorms powered up whatever anyone! Pretty much of it has input snap points it's a computer at least nowadays which actually would meet the qualifications of a computer even before computers were thing. Information storage and retrieval what about music rolls AKA player piano rolls that would actually qualify as as a computer storage media. And yes it digital either a whole or not a whole ones and zeros parallel data. And of course there was punched paper tape later on and of course Punch Cards. The certain design of weaving loom that was controlled with a programmable system that was a forerunner of Punch Cards was an example of the very first sort of thing like that in a way. Also early electromechanical jukeboxes wer a bit of a computer as well. Even the humble lot or mechanical pinball machine was basically a relay computer. Matter fact on the old gas pumps that use the number drills to calculate the price per gallon used are tradable gear sets. That whole system was actually called the computer. So, I'd like to see is Lego mechanical logic. A visual working logic system that could be motorized just a thought but I'm sure it's been done but it would not be perky tool I don't think at least in sets. Although I've seen logic done with Lego pneumatics and mechanical assemblies. And even in some cases stepping mechanisms and others and motors and such polarity switches on. All combined into one thing to do something that would require logic and timing. Which could easily be gear trains and cams. Once saw someone build a garage into a Lego house with a button that operate the garage door just like a Standard Electric garage door opener wood right down to the light and everything including automatic reverse. And the ability to stop the door mid operation literally internally emulated a normal old school garage door opener in Lego. Although most of the building contained all the electrical and the mechanical parts of that just to run the garage door but still pretty cool Ernie Haase not necessarily sanctioned but 100% Lego. Also there was no repeat no Mindstorms or any thing programmable at all involved it was strictly electromechanical logic. And of course limit switches all done with Lego switches if I remember correctly use both 9 volt system and 4.5 volt as well. The only thing that was missing of course was the break beam system for reverse and stop since there would have been no way to do it.

VIA 28 Rudra Badhe pneumatics have been around since 1984, and I doubt they would just discontinue such an iconic feature of lego technic. Besides it’s only been 3 years since the last pneumatics set

I mean, you can obviously power the power functions motors from a bench power supply by you know, splitting on the extensions to have it, we just go from bear wires to the connector and you can slowly increase the voltage to find the maximum voltage that they can take

We just get the same style sets that are somewhat simple so I think that we should get a fully RC Helicopter that will have a new type of motor that would have the speed of 4 buggy motors. We would also be getting a lighter hub, motors etc. And I personally think we should also get like a speed boat or something similar with waterproof components.

We need a ratchet gear. Like what you have on the rear axle of a multi-speed bicycle. Torque is only transmitted in one rotational direction.

What good it is to make torque converter, torsen differential and things like that if the vehicle can barely carry it's own weight? I've just got a 7.2v 8675 (Outdoor Challenger) and it's very fun to play with. No hassle, just pure fun simply because it's powerful and durable. To me, the priority on the Technic line should be making powerful motors. THEN we start thinking about complex machinery that can get something out of those motors.

1- it really doesn't matter how you define gearbox or how close they are to real applications. What matters is they do work. You demand Lego to develop specialized mechanisms. NO. Technic is about creating from what you have, not about using specialized parts. Otherwise go glue some plastic sets. 2- thers is no reason to developing pneumatic engine because of power conversion. Even if you put something like this in your model, you will still end up powering it from air pump driven by electric motor. Your model still be putted in motion by electric motor, only in the most inefficient way possible. 3- why in the name of Admin Allmighty you want a torque converter in a toy? Also, this device has really low efficiency that only worsens capabilities of models already without prober bearings. 4- actually good idea. Gears are available, so it is only a matter od developing simple main body. 5- the same as #1 6- no idea what kind of mechanism you are talking about. But I know the more "radio controlled" the set is, the more distant and disconnected from the user it is. I would rather crank every single function of the model by hand than watch from distance how it does things by itself. Seriously. 7- I have no opinion about that. 8- #7 9- No. they have enough power for toy application. 10- a clutch? Lego is too small to properly use such device. The model has to be either seriously heavy or really fast to maintain speed while engine is disconnected, otherwise clutch has no sense. Even if, in this case a brake system would be also required. You forgot about that.

i recon lego should make hydrolic systems aswell as the pneumatics. ive tried it with water in the pneumatic system and it works fine apart from the stwiches release the water when you switch them, could make for some cool stuff

Do you think that powered up is better than power functions? Since it will get ever better through future updates. I really must know.

I think that for some applications, powered up is better, but there’s still a lot of other applications where power functions is better. For example, full RC mods are much easier to make with powered up due to the receiver being built in to the battery box. You don’t have to worry about modifying the external shape to accommodate the receiver

Nah, initially in 2019 I strongly hated the powered up system. I would’ve preferred the 42100 set to be with power functions. The first set to really change my perspective is the 42114, due to the 90 degree speed shifting. And ever since the custom controller update came out, I began looking at the powered up system from a completely different perspective. Do I still prefer the old power functions system? Yes! But do I hate the powered up system? Absolutely not

Quick question. In a real car, could you just replace a clutch with a torque converter?

I don’t think so. The manual and automatic transmission mechanisms are very different, and a torque converter might damage a manual transmission

If you are good with technic, you should get a 3D printer. Disposable parts that you don’t have to worry about breaking. Combine that with some syringes and neoprene tube and boom. Lego hydraulics.

Dual differential steering will to be part of the bulldozer. The reason is that even if they want you to be able to turn your bulldozer like a car, they can just programm the software so that it works with one motor per track. This is also how it works in these days. Dual differential steering can also be easily build into your moc.

@@Unbrickme You do not understand. Real Tracked vehicles have one motor driving each track. They are hydraulic motors, but they are motors driving the track directly. The Output of these motors is controled by software. So even if the tracked vehicle has a steering wheel like a car, it has one motor for each wheel. THERE IS NO DUAL DIFFERENTIAL STEERING INVOLVED! Dual differential steering is actually rarely used, because it got replaced by software basicly instantly. Also, this software could easily be programmed into the Control+ Software, so there is no reason for Lego to use dual differential steering. Also the Sets are getting worse and worse. Today Lego barely puts any technic in Lego Technic Sets ( which doesn't only sound silly, it is silly!). Why would then put such a system into the bulldozer, if they are so lazy!

Honestly that’s the thing, lego Technic sets do seem to have less technic mechanisms in the modern sets. This is exactly why I really wish the new bulldozer will have dual differential tank drive. Yes it can be more easily replicated with software, but a dual differential tank drive would be so fascinating in LEGO technic and it would be the first time such a mechanism is used in a technic set. I just hope that the new bulldozer isn’t like one motor per one function, because that is just super basic for such an expensive lego technic set

@@Unbrickme That is one reason why I hate the Control+ System. Because the Software does everything! And you can't even programm it yourself! This contridicts the idea of Lego Technic. Also, those parts are ridiculusly expensive and not compatible with any other System like the 9V and Powerfunctions System ( Those two for example were compatible via extension cable), which contridicts the idea of Lego! In my opinion they should reintroduce Powerfunctions!

is it not true that disengaging clutch in real car stops gears in transmission from spinning. it just disconnects engine from transmission, output shaft is still spinning because it is connected to wheels. real transmissions use synchro rings to match speeds of both shafts when engaging a gear.

The Code Pilot from set 8479 (year 1997) can be programmed to play different pitches of sound, but unfortunately this feature was never to be seen again on non-MindStrom sets. Technic cars seems to be hitting a wall, sure we are getting more gears for each new flagship release, but we are really just paying for all those body panels and stickers, inside they are not so much different from each other. With the new IP/OEM releases, technic would focus more on the looks than functionalities, you think with the price for the Lambo we would be getting native power function/powered up support and lighting modules, features that sets released decades ago already had. All being said, Technic will still be imporving in the years to come, but just don't expect them to be as quickly and groundbreaking as during the 90s - early 2000s. Before Lego almost went under in 2004 it was all about making the most innovative set possible, profit didn't really matter, and sets from that era really showed what was possible. After 2004 money was the No.1 priority for the company, so rather than setting the trend Lego would follow whatever IP that could make the most cash, so now we are getting all those fancy IP cars/heavy equipments, but fewer original sets are been developed compare to the early days. Innovation means taking risk, and risk means potential lose of revenue, as a profit-centric company Lego would not dare making huge strides in technological breakthroughs like before. It might be the most powerful brand right now, however is not without cost.

I'm so down for a compact electric pneumatic valve! I mean you can hook up a motor to a regular valve and have it RC that way, but it's usually very bulky. Also I'd love to have an S or XS motor, Just a very small and compact motor that can handle some light load like switching gears. Dimensions could be as small as 3x3x3. A small motor would solve the problem for an electric valve, because you could build one which is fairly compact, although a real electric valve would be grand!

@@Unbrickme While playing with the small pneumatic pump and thinking of good compressor designs I thought of another good idea: The head of the small pump needs to be an offset half beam, so that you can put two pumps on the opposite sides into one blockspace. Much like the engine rod part. Or we need a compact effecient compressor.

Biggest setbacks for lego are durability and price if they make pieces like a limited slip differential the parts have to be small so less durable and if they implement more electrical components the price skyrocket for not that big sets and it all has to be child friendly and easy for them to use because that is the main group lego is trying to reach

What lego could do is to implement a remotely controlled locking differential mechanism. Whenever the vehicle is stuck, you lock the differentials, then after the vehicle is unstuck, you can unlock the differentials

The best idea was pneumatic engine. But this would likely require a pump that pressurizes an airtight cavity. Kind of sketchy for kids by today's standards. I could just see legos exploding under pressure even though it would be awesome. Tyco did something like this in the 80's. I had a motorcycle with a pneumatic mechanism.

I saw it in a MOC, it was made of 4 4185 pieces and 3 Technic pin/axle ( the blue ones), and a linear actuator was in charge of the position : at Max, out was solidely engaged, at mid, the friction (bad for pieces) let the end axis turn, and at min the end axis can turn freely : )

They don't support faster rc models because first of all, lego technic parts can't handle the speed or torque. Second of all, if they do make them in the future, those sets would have 1000 pieces and cost about 400 dollars because of the new material of parts (price was or is multiplied by the "insane" quality control of LEGO which btw is unnecessary when it comes to just manufacturing whole rc models and still get the same shit)

There's some important technical aspects you're missing with a lot of these. If anyone manages to make an automatic planetary gearbox for a 1:10 scale car then I'll eat my hat. I don't see it happening ever unless with new pieces, but at that point it's so far from being Lego that what's the point anymore? A differential auto is much likelier, but only for a two or three-speed crawler. Compressed air has really poor energy density so you'll never see an RC LPE car do 50mph, and the high pressures can be dangerous, so TLG would never do it. It also requires modified pneumatic components to handle the high speeds and heat from all the compression and friction. It's also not very playable unless you're hooked up to an external compressor, which almost nobody has. Your understanding of Torsen diffs is wrong - they don't help at all when you have a raised wheel, so their advantages in Technic sets are limited at best. The clutch gears and driving rings locking up is also worth mentioning. It's not technically because they're travelling at different speeds, but because they're converting large amounts of torque, so there's high friction stopping the drive ring from sliding off the clutch gear. People are right in saying that clutch pads would help, but even with a clutch you're still slowing the vehicle while you change gear. In RC vehicles the best way to avoid this problem to gear up directly from the motor, and run the gearbox at high speed/low torque so that you can switch easily and much quicker.

​@@Unbrickme You said that Torsens also help when you have zero traction, but that's just straight up wrong - with a lifted wheel they're as useless as open diffs. They're not designed to deal with situations where one wheel has zero traction. They'll work pretty well when you have reduced traction on one wheel, but not in the situations that the Volvo and Ferrari were in. An external compressor is only feasible if you already have one. The vast majority of people don't, and they're not gonna want to buy a set that they then need to spend a non-insignificant extra amount money and effort to find a compressor for. It's also too easy to ruin an LPE just by running it for too long. TLG isn't gonna want to have to deal with such liability issues, because people will run the LPEs into the ground. I could see a bottle-powered standalone LPE set being a thing, but not as an engine to power a moving vehicle. Well, I was watching your previous videos and would say they are way too subjective and quite questionable... The suggestions here are too distant for the Lego fundamental ideas and barely could be even imagined to be seen once... 10. Automatic transmission - it includes too many gears, added friction, and other things that will dramatically under-perform being made of ABS plastic... 9. Pneumatic engine - it is presented in LPE MOCs and they are way too destructive to Lego parts. Notice that pneumatic has self-increasing torque so have the shafts are stalls, they will break them easily. 8. Torque converter - the same, Lego does a lot to limit the torque by slipping "clutch" gears, current "brakes" in electric equipment, and other many things which stop the action when something goes wrong. it totally crosses the idea of the torque converter. 7. Torsen differential - this may be presented but only if don't use the friction as one of its base factors. Otherwise, say bye-bye to ABS parts... 6. Dual-differential tank-like drive - it could be used only for lightweight vehicles, as even mid-sized ones will grind the small and weak satellites inside differentials in a second. 5. Full RC pneumatic - it is already here, just connect the motors to new axle-holed valves ))) 4. Speaker - this one would be great, now I agree with you! 3. RC Boat - oh no, not one more Galidor, please! The full-sealed one-piece "boat" body with batteries, motors, and receivers are enclosed will totally cross the idea of Lego and a constructor... Again... 2. High-power Battery - highly doubt. Lego always has twice the reserve all the limits and even having possibly to run the current motors at 11 and even 11v power (hello, ByWizz!) the official company will never do that putting their Customer Service at risk of nearly guaranteed monthly-scheduled replacement for all electronic parts. 1. Clutch - intended-friction thing for ABS parts, right?

@@UnbrickmeThe RC boat, I am sure Lego would never do that mostly because on all the RC sets it mentions that they are all indoor sets. So you shouldn't use them outdoors. So I don't think anyone would by an RC boat that you can only use in your bath. 2nd: 1:8 supercars are too havy to be driven by motors properly without damaging some parts.

Really nice ideas but most of them contradicts the lego safety standards. Imagine if kid playing with remote controlled boat in his bathroom gets electrocuted. Or if pneumatic engine goes too fast, model can simply be destroyed by crashing into the wall or something. I think lego wants to introduce it, but just can’t

Actually it’s unlikely to get electrocuted from a battery pack in the water. When you drop your phone, tablet, or anything that’s UNPLUGGED into the water, you will not get electrocuted. You only get electrocuted if you drop your phone in the water while it is charging, the device has to plugged into a power outlet

@@Unbrickme ACKSUA... Ok ok, Im sorry. You cant get electrocuted from a batery like that. The voltage is too low and is DC power. In fact, In Europe, there is a thing called secure low voltage lines, that are defined as powersources in DC or AC bellow 24V, these power sources have a voltage low enough that if you touched both wires with your hands in a pool. You couldnt even notice it. More over, you could literaly lick the poles of a car batery while touching the other with your hand winouth any risk of electrocution. but if you short the poles you would see huge sparks. So thats not a problem. I think its more of a problem corrosion in metal and exposed parts. like the contacts on the wires or the motors themselves (It would be really expensive making a lego motor waterproof, moreover since they are DC brushed motors, BLDCs would be way easier since they can get wet winout shorthing themselves out, but BLDCs need an especial driver.)

honestly, all these "R/C-ing" of lego sets doesn't excite me. sure it's cool and all, but it always falls short of your expectation for an R/C.. slow, weak, bulky, etc. and it's not like a designer can't give us stronger, faster motors, but lego piece's own inherent properties limit this intent.. plastic parts rubbing against each other, gears gnawing and jumping tooth, axles melting holes of technic bricks, long axles having torque twisting, and the list of potential problems goes on and on. so for me, i'd want to see the effort (and $) put more on mechanically advanced sets than having more expensive motors and R/C. if I want a toy to dig dirt in my backyard or beach, i'd get a proper R/C excavator and not my lego set.

@@Unbrickme He didn't print it himself, he got (or bought idk) it for testing. There is a link under his video where you can buy it (cca 12€). The company probably doesn't have some bad 3d printers even though I think you could print it also with a normal one. You just need to find a good settings, material and of course the file, which they don't publish.

I'd personally like to see different types of sets and functions associated with those, instead of releasing more cars, when looking at the Technic lineup. 1. Trains would be a cool addition, including some on the scale of the Bugatti or Sian. I know there are system sets available, but I'd like to see sets targetted at the Technic audience. This could include different train designs and eras, and possibly a carriage design or two, with more details and function than the system counterparts. 1. More airplanes and helicopters would be neat. It would be interesting to have an airplane that can house a lego car with a retractable back (maybe taking advantage of the pistons and control+), or helicopters with interesting designs like the cancelled Osprey. 1. Robots. It would be cool to have things that you could play around in this space. Maybe with things like eyes that can blink, or fully motive fingers with extend/retract capability. 1. Walking robots. It would be cool to have things like a lego version of the Boston Dynamics robot to play around with, or different designs like multi-legged spider-like robots. 1. Motion/stability sensors would be neat for things like robots, allowing you to detect when the robot is tilting to one side. 1. Pressure sensors would be cool as well, allowing you to detect when a foot, hand, or finger is touching a surface. 1. Amusement rides. It could be cool having some of the more mechanical rides implemented as Technic sets.

There are actually already "technic" robots with lego mindstorms and in the new 51515 set we have a walking robot called Gelo who walks a lot like the boston dynamics spot robot dog. Almost every person I know that’s into ships (myself included) first got that interest from the famous giant four-stack steamer.

Technic needs to have far more RC support Brushless motors or just stupid powerful normal ones, high power batteries for them, the ability to daisy chain motors (a dead feature now that they've retired power functions motors), & specific wheels/tires for RC stuff too Most of this wouldn't be that hard either, afaik LEGO has made pneumatic tires before & it already has many of the already existing tech for it to happen in current production to this day. Also stronger more streamlined pneumatics. That'd be dope. But RC stuff NAOW!!!

Normally i don't complain about these kinds of videos but some of the things he wants to be introduced have 1 been introduced before in some form(pneumatic engine). 2 are kind of too expensive for Lego to produce(speakers in the set, automatic transmissions, etc.). Or 3 are just too complex or odd for the the target audience(Legos are mostly made for 7-16 year old kids with some sets made for adults, and if you wanted to get a rc car that can go fast get a real rc car, Legos are not made for that kind of stress and will break or fall apart if they get going too fast).

LEGO should have done all of this decades ago. Now they should focus on electrical drive trains and forget about ICE. No problems with clutches and differentials etc. Better pneumatics would be nice though, as are an RC boat and a drone.

I'm trying to get an lego technic control center to program a lego motor and the motor connected to the pneumatic switch and when I program it I get a full show of an pneumatic robot

You could always buy a very small bluetooth speaker and place it inside your models and send the sound to that. But you are right when I first get a technic hub I must admit it was a bit of a melon scratcher when I discovered it didn't have a built in speaker and the sounds just came out of your phone/tablet which is just really cheesy.
