@@dracocorocks3502 the problem might be from me, but I just dont like tool, I have always found it boring, I might change my opinion and give them another chance, but for now, aint my thing
+Keith Telesh Would make way more sense, most influencial bands, that is very true, they are iconic, but greatest ? This doesn't make any sense, it's all personnal taste
It's a personal taste. I actually agree with most of the list. Except I would put Motorhead higher than Megadeth and Pantera and Pantera lower than Megadeth. And I don't think Tool deserve a spot on this list, perhaps Venom or Mercyful Fate instead and I personally don't like Judas Priest but I recognize them as a fucking awesome band. If it was the more influential Venom would have to be here. Some of these bands weren't really that much influential, so I don't really agree, ate least there are some more influential...
Anton chigurh I don’t, number 8 and number 9 are NOT metal bands. And Judas Priest don’t deserve to be so high because they made loads of stuff outside of the metal genre, liking “living after midnight”. God I hate that song. Their actual metal stuff kicks ass though.
@@kylerudney569 Motorhead definitely on this list they were a big part of metals rise. Tool is great i dont think it really should be on this list but i cant think of a quick replacement for them, and those 2 bands are definitely metal
Travis Goetz nah, you haven’t heard my favourite progressive avant - garde blackened symphonic slamming thrash djent pornogrind power brutal death with jazz influence band called Maroon 5
My 10 best Metal Bands with no particular order: Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Pantera, Slayer, Motorhead, Anthrax and Ozzy Osboure.
+Fnuord Hase No dude, their last album "Peace Sells, but who's the Creeping Master of the Sanitarium" is definitely hard rock. You should get your facts before judging
Lmao hardly, Black Sabbath is great but there are so many other metal bands out there that are better, just because they were first doesn't make them the best
Priest, Maiden and Sabbath are honestly the most untouchable bands. Sabbath was the first metal band, priest was the first self described metal band, and maiden I see as the Figurehead of the NWOBHM which split metal into all of the wonderful and diverse subgenres we have to choose from today.
I don't think its quite fair to make a "top 10 best metal bands" because that limits the genre to basically just classic/heavy metal and thrash metal, and metal is probably the most varied and diverse genre of music, that has sub genres of sub genres. Whittling the "best bands" down to just these two main sub genres is a disservice to metal's strongest strength, diversity. IMO the closest you can get to ranking any kind of bands is at least the sub genre like "Top ten Death metal bands of all time" or "Top ten Black Metal Bands of all time" but even then I'd have to make it a top 15 or 20 because of how many amazing bands there are for each genre. Metal in general is too fucking amazing and has too many amazing bands to make any list with 10 spots. But that's just my opinion, grind on motherfuckers.
Well said i agree. Id like to see a top 10 of each genre. Maybe 10 sub genres. Then so who the ten winners are. That being said I'm still more a classic/thrash guy that likes Dio & Slayer etc so my list would turn out pretty similar to loudwires
@@WillWright-lx4hf Dude, metal incorporates more genres of other music than any other, well, genre lmao. Classical, Jazz, Pop, electronic elements, and "trap metal" is becoming a thing with polyphia and other bands, and we had Nu-metal in the past. You're delusional.
+Tony DeRosa That's because Iron Maiden is objectively (as objectively as music can get) the best metal band ever. They have the ability to make absolutely kick ass 5 minute songs, but also the most epic, melodic and simply beautiful 10+ minute songs out of any metal band. Of course everyone has different opinions, but objectively maiden is probably the best.
Metal is so legendary that deciding a top 10 including every essential band is nearly impossible. These 10 names come to mind when talking about both quality and influence. 1. Black Sabbath 2. Metallica 3. Iron Maiden 4. Opeth 5. Slayer 6. Judas Priest 7. Death 8. Megadeth 9. Dream Theater 10. Mastodon
@@andrei1151 I wouldn't say MUCH better (the original unquestionably kicked ass) but yes, better. Seriously, the metal screams on that cover were unreal. It's a shame he didn't do them more often, he was right up there with Eric Adams and Rob Halford himself.
But some of Nickelback's song's are pretty badass. Also some of the songs from their new album. Im more of a Metallica n Megadeth fan though but can't deny Nickelback's talent
@ 2:48 that was some DAYUM smooth editing!!! Slow it down to see what happens. That needs to be in a top ten list of "10 greatest transitions in a RU-vid video"
@@raspberrycrowns9494 😒 Iron Maiden are old school heavy metal band of NYOBHM and metal has evolved into much heavier subgenres. My opinion isn't dogshit and I have a broader perspective on metal music than you think you have CLOWN. I got into metal through Saxon, Iron Maiden, Venom and Motorhead and now I like much heavier stuff from death metal. Iron Maiden have been influential but it is very shallow to hail them as the best without having any knowledge of other genres. Notoriously black metal progenitors like Venom which were an influence on thrash metal have been left out. Record sales and overall popularity render them influential, not the best dumbass. Fuck you who has limited tastes.
@@PriyankaDas-fe6hm I don't think that heavier means better. Maiden are my favorites too, but I still like other ones and respect other people opinion.
Top 50 Metal Bands of All Time 50. Behemoth 49. Darkthrone 48. Between The Buried & Me 47. Avenged Sevenfold 46. GWAR 45. Gorguts 44. Immortal 43. Twisted Sister 42. Children Of Bodom 41. Idk about ax7, theyre more of a hard rock band to me, i do feel like deftones and gojira should be on this list too, other than that it is pretty damn solid 👍👍👍
I could easily replace Tool with Meshuggah on the list personally. Djent is everywhere these days, and whilst Tool might be far more popular, I think Meshuggah have been far more influential overall. Even in the prog metal scene, most of the more prominent bands are more influenced by the likes of Dream Theater and Meshuggah than Tool, at least when you listen to what they're playing. Death deserves a mention though for sure, very technical and essentially the first band of any note to play true death metal.
My list goes like this: 10- Dream Theater 9- Death 8- Megadeth 7- Sepultura 6- Slayer 5- Pantera 4- Judas Priest 3- Iron Maiden 2- Metallica 1- Black Sabbath
That's what they say. If that was the case, why are Metallica, Judas, Black Sabbath and Iron closer do number 1? And it still doesn't explain the lack of Dio
Philip Gonzalez Lmao why not? Seems like they're trying to include different types of metal, why not the band that made progressive metal as huge as it is?
Among these ten, this is my preference ranking: 1 Iron Maiden 2 Slayer 3 Judas Priest 4 Pantera 5 Megadeth 6 Death 7 Metallica 8 Black Sabbath 9 Motörhead 10 Tool
I don't agree that Metallica is higher than Priest and Slayer. Higher than Megadeth, I can agree, because Metallica has better songs. (Master Of Puppets, One, Fade To Black, Enter Sandman, Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters - the fact they vary their style means they have better songs. Megadeth play nothing but Thrash.) But Slayer are better than both. Especially because of the guitarists, no matter that I hate their solos, especially the ones of Kerry King.
TheWarDog11 What a crappy taste of music! Music is not just loudness and headbanging, music is an art! Indeed Megadeth show so much artistry, but Metallica show even more by varying style. I do like Thrash, but not heavier than Slayer! I wanna hear music, not noise. Imagine every song as a book being written or a painting being painted.
1) Judas Priest 2) Juda... Black Sabbath 3) Metallica 4) Iron Maiden 5) Megadeth 6) Motörhead 7) Dio 8) Manowar 9) Blind Guardian 10) Helloween Couldn't fit Accept there tho.. This is my top 10
I would put Metallica at #1 simply because they made their way to not only metal fans but a lot of people who don’t even listen to metal, they introduced a lot of people to heavy metal (me included) I heard nothing else matter and instantly liking it, they were going on tours and playing live nonstop, stadiums full of people. My gf hate rock, metal and sometimes I caught her listen to Metallica lol
A almost perfect list (where influence is concerned), exept for Tool, which is more of a alternative Rock project Mine would be: 10. Repulsion/Napalm Death 9. Bathory 8. Death 7. Pantera 6. Slayer 5. Metallica 4. Mötorhead 3. Judas Priest 2. Iron Maiden 1. Black Sabbath
Tool and Dream Theater is very hard to say metal but whatever they are metal in some way and also they are too good. But Linkin Park? WTF man. They are always been alt rock and their last album is pure pop garbage. The Hunting Party doesn't make them a metal band.
Christ, Loudwire with your obsession with Slayer... above Pantera AND Megadeth? Fuckin not a chance. No one agrees with that, I guarantee. Megadeth should be 5. Slayer should be 7. And get Tool the fuck outta here, Anthrax should be 9.
Meric Zo Paul I respect Tool and the music they play and how talented they are. And I realize they're WAY more popular than Anthrax. But Anthrax is still one of the big 4 of thrash and helped popularize a genre! They deserve a mention just as much, if not more than Tool does.
My list 10. Motörhead 9. Saxon 8. Black Sabbath 7. Slayer 6. Havok 5. Exodus 4. Iron Maiden 3. Slipknot 2. Death Honourable mentions: Pantera, Bathory, Morbid Angel, Metallica and Annihilator 1. Megadeth
If you like whiney gospel songs and crappy, generic pop rock tunes then sure, praise Priest for their diversity. Maiden has consistency, which is far more important than diversity.
They are both metal, but definitely not deserving of placement on this list. Maybe if they did a "Top 10 Best MetalBands of the last 20 years" or something
Always so surprised that the oldest metal band - SCORPIONS - gets completely overlooked. Sure they made some balads, like every band out there, but essentially they've always been heavy metal, since '65.
people are serious all this Iron Maiden stuff ? I mean its kinda surprising how huge lvl of fanboys this band has, it makes Maiden look overrated in my eyes because of that. I agree that its great band and so on but their cult followers are pretty annoying which makes me not to have any sympathy for this band. and Even without that, I dont think its a band who definitely should be on 2 or 3 or even at 5. Their later release in 90th are pretty weak and anything from 00th are damn awful.
My 10 favorite METAL bands, keep in mind I like 100 bands. 1. Metallica (My favorite band anyway) 2. Megadeth 3. Ozzy Osbourne 4. Black Sabbath 5. Iron Maiden 6. Judas Priest 7. Pantera 8. Anthrax 9. Exodus 10. Testament Dio would be at 11.
+Jonathan Alfaro I know right? Just because they were the first metal band people always put them at #1. I bet if Black Sabbath formed in like 1990 they wouldn't even be famous. I get it, they invented metal and influenced many bands, BUT that doesn't make them the best.
