It’s very clear from the video how positive an impact your Mum had on your life. Sorry to hear of your loss. Hearing what you’ve been through makes your advice even more pertinent, especially with the important context that MBA/business isn’t the most important thing in life. Excited to follow your future content!
i never comment on videos, but damn this hit home. my mom has parkinsons and i've struggled with keeping a positive attitude and performing at a demanding job. really appreciate you sharing your perspective; i took away a lot of good stuff 🙏
i feel you. for me it was only after my mom passed that i felt i could really breathe, relax, and be more at peace. during her battle with ALS, it wasn't easy to remember that the little positive moments we shared together would be so important and something i miss now and would look back fondly on. hope you're able to enjoy as much time as you can with your mom and best of luck to you
I started watching you in 2020 before I landed an IB internship at a BB, I stayed for the personal growth i've seen on the channel. Life is fragile and happiness is a choice, i'm glad you were able to realise this as many don't and unfortunately stay in a repetitive strut of hating their day-to-day. Kudos Ben
It’s not easy to be so open and honest to the public about the sacred relationship you had with your mum and what you went through. Really respect you for sharing this in the right time in your own approach Ben. As a content creator myself I could also relate to some of the things you alluded to such as the tenancy of over sharing/ being mindful. Some super inspiring points you mentioned in other parts of this video too. Really like this sort of content you put out. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing these lessons. Also understand that its not easy opening up about your loss and so sorry to hear about that. I love how you've kept a positive attitude and are able to be grateful about life. Excited to see your future growth and hope to see more wins in your future. Thanks Ben.
Thank you for your vulnerability with your experiences, notably with your mom. I admire the love and care that you have for her. I know this was very difficult to share to us, but I’m very proud of you for doing so! Great job man.
Thank you for sharing these lessons. I am 25 and still very much figuring things out. I don’t feel like I have accomplished much. I don’t exactly know what I want to do with my life. I feel like I’m falling behind the curve. This helped me reframe and feel optimistic about the broad range of possibilities for the future. Thanks man
Thank you for providing your experience. It’s so inspirational to see how you have progressed this far in your career and you highlighted the concept of the things that make you happy aren’t always the easiest. Appreciate how much you opened up to share your story with your mom and your outlook after such a hard situation, may she rest in peace.
Being 27 and having been watching your videos from the start, this was an awesome and insightful video, Ben! Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your insights. Your channel helped me get a corp dev job with zero banking experience. Keep everything coming!
Every now and again when I'd watch your videos, I'd have that nagging thought about your mother in the back of my head - I hope everything's okay - and it saddens me to hear of her passing. I've struggled to word this correctly, but it can't have been easy to leave Korea and start the MBA with excitement and then have things go south literally as you'd just left. I'm sorry the start of something you'd been waiting years for got off to a rough start. But I'm glad that even within loss there is light, and rareliquid exists in part because of her - you'll always have that. The darkest grief only exists because of love.
You’re a great person. Your mom did a wonderful job. Thanks for talking about this subject with us, and know you are having a positive impact on lots of people. Best,
you are strong bro im really proud of you man, rn im pursuing IB my mom is in another country and i miss her so much and I can’t imagine her not being with me.
I don't know why i pressed on your video tonight as i don't usually watch youtube. But i'm glad i did. My Father passed away from ALS last year so this hit home. Enjoyed the video.
Hey Ben, I don't usually write comments but I hope you're okay reading this note that resonated with me after watching your video. First off, I just want to say thank you for sharing all these invaluable life lessons that you acquired while going through your 20s. I'm currently in my mid-late 20s who graduated from UC Berkeley (go bears!) in Fall 2021 and just landed my first job as a Database Architect a few months ago. Before then, I was struggling to find a job because I did not have a full time job offer lined up prior to graduating. Luckily, I did get one offer but I eventually turned it down because there were already a lot of people complaining about the work culture and how the seniors are merely pretending like they're all ruly and bossy. Who knows? I might have changed the company's work culture and made the company healthier haha, but I ultimately turned it down and I guess the price that I had to pay was two and a half years of waiting, countless anxious nights, and just like what you mentioned in your video, pain. I don't think I want others to go through the same experience that I've gone through, which is perhaps why I'm mentioning this part but do not to sacrifice your mental health for significant things like even one's career. Furthermore, I decided to join the Army (not Korean one) to enhance my career trajectory, which obviously requires a lot time, energy, and grit. All in all, I am where I am right now with the blood, sweat, and tears but because of your video it made me reflect back on the few years of my life. Thank you for this and I am sincerely sorry to hear about your loss. Even though you may be only a fews years older than me, there are so many aspects about you that I look up to and learn from. I just want you to say you're doing great and keep up the good work! :)
I followed Ben for a long time, when starting learning excel. I'm 40 years old and did not expect that his wisdoms are so heavyweight before watching it. But I'm glad that I did.
Ben, thank you first. Secondly it's good to have space to feel vulnerable coz it's healthy and healing, we are honored to be your listeners. Thirdly lessons in ur 20s show pure wisdom of life and i got them deeply since i am in my 20s. Finally my condolences to you Ben. Thanks.
Some important from 20s and 30s 1. Never stop compounding your money in index and mutual funds, every month - time in market beats everything. 2. Health is king - gym and jogging several times a week beats depression and stress, no excuses. 3. Diet - increase carnivore intake to increase strengh and health 4. Plenty of water intake every day 5. Meditation, stretching, appreciation and god (if you are agnostic then just meditate) 6. Define your purposes in life. 7. Take out people in your life that are toxic or have no benefit
Could you get deeper into how people interested in being in the graduate student council have to do. Like about the things they do politically. Basically all the serious that a candidate has to do to get elected and also spill the secret stories?
Ben, I like to work at a wall street investment bank I have few problems with Investment banking I want a good answer for them so How can I contact you as a video call? Please be kind enough to help me
