Unless it's outside of Nether, but Sub loves building with Nether stuff. Remember he used a second Nether Portal (that secret tunnel leads to it), so technically should be back in the Overworld, but far away from the first entrance portal. Also part of the building strategy might be to confuse players to think they are still in the Nether and NOT to use his beds, which in this case would be completely safe. You don't want other people to set their spawn in your base, do you?

rTrully it is so impressive and amazing! It is fantastic for how awesome and superb all of this really is! As I adore it soo much as I wish that he could just make for some time building styles and or even a download to this world perhaps! Filled with all of this structures and or at least designs blueprints as some of this I never trully felt and never thought about as well! I am so glad to having had met this person and I hope they do not overwork themselves for doing almost daily videos however
