One dumb feature we all know: forced to save DOC as DOCX, despite the fact that Microsoft Word itself has no problem with saving in DOC format. And all publishers accept submissions in either format. It's a typical example of big brother Google knowing what's best for us.

For the Auto Substitutions...is that document specific or an over all preference. If it is document specific will it substitute for anyone editing the doc or just me?

It's not document specific. it's for every document you edit, and does not apply to other people editing the document

Thank you for all the tools; well explained. I have not found a video about Importing an email with an attachment to download it in the google docs. All the videos I have seen including yours are about exporting sending google docs to some other recipient. I need the reverse and it is to download a long document I attached to an email I sent to myself from my word documents with microsoft. Thank you for any light into this.

On Gmail email view next to the document icon there is a triangle with a + sign. This is to add the document to google drive instantaneously. I this what you were looking for?

Hello sir, I need your help. The old comment style (ballon-like comment anchored to the portion of the text on which the comment has been) in Microsoft Word and Libre Office is essential for my qualitative data analysis. However, I can not change the modern statement in Google Docs. Some were saying that using the suggesting mode can help me do this. Can you please make a video on this?

i'm copying and pasting chord sheets into googledocs and there is an annoying number of blank lines between lyric lines. is there a way to delete all blank lines in one move?

You can reduce the gap with "line and spacing" option on the Google Docs bar.
