I would like to clarify something. Kaiju the word’s modern day meaning is associated with giant scary monsters like Godzilla and King Kong but the word’s original Japanese meaning was simply “Strange Monster” or something very similar. In the context of Pokémon, where they are all referred to as Pocket Monsters, Koraidon/Miraidon would be pretty strange comparatively to others seeing as how it is an all terrain mount. Not to mention Kieran probably hasn’t been to Paldea and so hasn’t seen a Cyclizar before so this would be something completely foreign and “strange” to him.
Koraidon and Miraidon seem foreign and strange even compared to Cyclizar. Also, Kieran and Carmine are both enrolled in the Blueberry Academy, so who's to say that Kieran hasn't seen a Cyclizar before? Maybe Briar has one as her partner much like her ancestor Heath did?
To add on to this, Blueberry Academy is in Unova, where PokeStar Studios is. It's possible Kieran learned about kaiju by watching some movies from PokeStar Studios.
If you closely see the origin of the man and ogerpon there is a fourth member to the loyal three which is momotaro.if you saw the pokedex entries of the loyal 3 it is registered as the retainer pokemon . So a Pokemon based on momotaro could be the trio master of the loyal 3 pls reply if you think this theory is correct.
1:51 Something else I noticed about travel in this DLC is that when you fly from place to place in Kikakami, you're doing so with a flock of Noctowl instead of a flock of Squawkabilly.
I mean or they just aren't naturally found there, since the only Paldean pokemon that are there are ones who evolve from previous generations' Pokemon.@@sidneyprice5514
It makes sense. The Corviknight line isn't native to Kitakami, so they had to make do with other species. Granted, I'm not sure why a Staraptor is out of the question, but I suppose that's another theory
Here’s an easter egg within an easter egg… Billy and O’Nare when their names are put together you get Billionaire (because they’re rich). Also O’Nare’s hair is both gold and silver another reference to Johto.
O'Nare is the woman. They say she is the CEO of Paldea Real Estate. Nemona's dad is on the Board of Rotom Phone Co. Billy does give you a golden Rotom Phone case though, so maybe.
As was mentioned by others, there is the possibility of finding Glimmet in a few Cavernous areas outside of Area Zero, but they all require there to be an Outbreak of Wild Glimmet to appear, so technically they aren't considered available in those places Lore-Wise...
@@lianaverwood9810the cave near the psychic gym and at the Pokémon center at the bottom of the mountain have them appear naturally without any outbreaks.
The Development on the Crater of Paldea was not something that happened inside, something was discovered about the Crater by the Blueberry Academy People about the Crater which is why Carmine and Kieran also had to leave to Blueberry Academy. Strange is also that Briar says that the Energy of Ogerpon or its Masks may allow to soon bring the Terastal Phenomenon into other Regions which means that the Terastal Phenomenon isnt used in Unova right now and will arrive there sometime between the first and the second DLC.
I can see the terastal phenomenon being in the next game if we do get unova, because of her and trying to set it up outside paldea. And I can see the city from black and the forest from white being the main area having the same thing as the crystal pool and having crystals just like AZ
This DLC blew away my expectations. Having actual story, connecting to the base game's Area Zero story as well as the next DLC's story... Telling us the Blueberry academy is in Unova! Several new Pokemon, including the Blood Moon Beast, which I love! A location that feels so unique and has it's own interesting culture and great characters... And so much more. I'm so happy with this DLC. Idk what other people think of it yet, but I think they've found a good formula for future games' DLC.
so terapagos’ name first shows up in the original draft of the scarlet/violet book, but that page was never published. Sada/Turo never knew about that, so in the notes found in area zero the professors refer to six blank letters as the being responsable for terastalization, and since they didn’t know about the page those blank letter really could have meant Paldea. The disk pokemon was called two different things by heath and the professors
@@baxterbruce9827Not really. Glimmet and Glimmora are extremely rare outside of Area Zero, and in Kitakami they only appear in the Crystal Pool, where Terastal Crystal are located That and how the pokedex and "The Way Home" keeps refering to it ad related to Terastalization (and being the ace of Geeta, the top champion-president-overlord of Paldea), the theories are more than justified
@@mysticpumpkin8520 We have a bunch of caves outside of Area Zero INFESTED with Glimmet, you're trying to make a conspiracy theory about this generation's Zubat And sure Glimmora is rare outside of Area Zero, but until the last few generations, Game Freak had a weird fixation on fully evolved Pokemon almost never showing up in the wild
Another possible explanation for Kieran calling Koraidon/Miraidon a kaiju could be that the tokusatsu genre exists in Pokémon and “kaiju” could just be the term for monsters in these pieces of media, much like in real life. Kieran is notably shy so maybe he’s also a bit nerdy. Granted, this is a less interesting explanation but still something to consider.
@@akirandrake414 I mean a lot of Kaiju are just people or animals that got turned really big because of some outside influence So in the Pokémon world it would probably just be Skyscraper tall Pokémon or humans that have some kinda extra feature than their normal counterpart
Well the people of Mossui Town still refer to Ogerpon as an 'Ogre' despite clearly just being a Pokémon, so people that lived with these Traditional Cultures, including Kieran, probably just refer to any Creature they can't recognize as something like an Ogre, Yokai, or Kaiju...
Thanks for the great video! Is it just me or does Briar give off future villain vibes? Also I love how Ogerpon looks like an orange while Terapagos is (somewhat) reminiscent of a bunch of purple grapes, reflecting the two schools. About Billy and O'Nare - Billy says his wife is the President of Paldea Realty, though I suppose it's not impossible that Nemona's parents own that, too.
I really enjoy Kitakami as a region. Something I think Paldea lacked as a region was a sort of personality or much Spanish theming, so I’m happy to see Kitakami be traditionally Japanese. I hope this isn’t the last we see of the region (legends Johto mayhaps 👀)
I'm about over half way through the DLC and enjoying it. Good for to find some interesting Easter Eggs throughout (including the time zone difference) and to visit Japan. I did noticed that Perrin does look similar to Adaman.
I do hope we see Kieran's arc continue in Part 2, seeing how battling with us and seeing us basically take the chance of having the ogre he was focunated by taken from him.
I really hope they include bonus dialogue if/when you rebattle him later in the Indigo Disk with Ogrepon on your team/in actual battle. Kinda like at the end with Carmine's final battle when you use Ogrepon.
I have always hated that theory that Geeta had some big secret because she uses a Glimora, everyone that pushes this theory seems to forget the fact that glimmet can be found and caught in basically every cave in Paldea and claim that since Glimora is inly seen in area sero she had to have gotten it there and thats suspicious.....or you knownshencould have juetncsught a glimmet literally anywhere and evolved it.
Nosepass point North in Pokemon Go, too. Normally, once you selected a Pokemon, if you choose not to battle it and run, it will be facing you afterward. However, only Nosepass will be at first facing you afterward - then it will start slowly turning until it is facing North once again.
Another cool Easter Egg, Ursaluna's encounter and battle themes were the Alpha Pokemon themes from Legends Arceus Also it's because Glimmora is connected to Tera crystals, both areas with Glimmora are special, Glimmet can be found is more normal caves though... Geeta is THE CHAMPION, she definitely went to Area Zero lol
Why would she need to return to Blueberry Academy in Unova because of a development related to the Great Crater of Paldea? What if Great Crater here is a mistranslation? What if they FOUND SOMETHING in the Giant Chasm in Unova? Both sites were created by objects from outer space colliding with the Earth. What if Giant Chasm, Great Crater, and Kitakami's Crystal Pools are all related?
I doubt they’re Nemona’s parents, since they don’t look like her at all. Is the word “kaiju” used in previous games? Maybe in SwSh regarding Dynamax? It’s also possible Geeta got her Glimmora in a random cave in Paldea, where Glimmet can spawn. I get that it’s less fun, but it seems plausible to me.
There actually IS a change in Area Zero ALREADY! I was EV training in the depths of Area Zero and I've started finding Roaring Moon in a area it WAS NOT in before! I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone talk about it! Originally I could only find Roaring Moon in the cavern with the floor pattern near Station 3, but now it's in the depths around Station 4!
The giant moster face on the mountain kinds reminds me of the dragon in the hammerlocke castle, maybe those are kaijus? Some ancient monturos pokemon. Idk, it was just a random thought i had.
Something strange I came across was how explicitly the pokédex mentioned the toxic chain in every loyal pokémon entry. Also how they were before the chain. It makes me believe that chain could play a role in the Indigo Disc (Kieran perhaps?)
I thought so too, because we saw that Kieran's personality shifts (something that Carmine noted was even weird) may have something to do with the Loyal Three reviving since they were in such close proximity?
*Datamines of The Teal Mask* showed added Lines to Characters that include _a few 'Zombie' references,_ and a Character referred to as *'Dokutaro'. The Zombies* are likely *the Loyal Three,* as they _were literally Reanimated from the Dead_ - but 'Dokutaro' could be *One of Two things:* 1 - The new Appearance that Kieran takes at *the End of the Teal Mask Storyline,* which will be _how he looks when you see him again in The Indigo Disk..._ 2 - It could be *the Fourth Member, and Ringleader of the Loyal Three's Gang.* It's Silhouette appears *in the Top-Right during the Story told by Kieran and Carmine's Grandfather,* and _given the Name basically means 'Poison Momotaro' in Japanese,_ could easily be a Hidden Pokémon behind the scenes and be behind things like *Kieran's drastic Behavior Change and the Loyal Three's Resurrection.* If you look at the things among *the General Store's stalls* (appropriately called 'Peachy's'), you'll see a Purple Plush Toy _that actually fits the shape of the Silhouette in the Story!_ The Datamine lists this Model's Name as *'Momo' (Peach),* so this could be a depiction of a Secret Pokémon that also *looks awfully similar to the Toxic Chains the Loyal Three have...*
@@lianaverwood9810 Thanks for the information! It sounds pretty credible and I hope that Dokutaro is the Fourth Member, which has also affected Kieran. Anyways, Game Freak now have to fulfill high expectations in The Indigo Disk!
@@reiniervanderhulst3375 Thanks - I did forget to mention though that the reason one of the Possibilities was for Kieran's new personality was because *his Japanese Name is 'Taro',* so _his more Toxic Personality_ could be referred to as *'DokuTaro' (Toxic Taro)...*
When I was reading about Fezendipity in the DLC and how it longed to be beautiful I couldn't help but think of female Unfesant and how it has the more muted colors of the gendered variants. Monkidori could be a version of the Elemental Monkeys... But for Okidogi I can't really see a Stoutland which is the only Dog Pokemon I can think of from Unova.
Another clue as to Kitakami being so close to Sinnoh is that we are told by Perrin that a certain pokemon encountered during her quest was able to swim there from Sinnoh.
@Bird Keeper Toby Actually, the Steel-Type girl from BBA, I can't remember her name, the black girl, she might be Lenora & Hawes' daughter! She shares the half glasses with Hawes, her skin color and eye color match Lenora, AND I think the reason SHE can teach Koraidon/Miraidon their flight ability is linked DIRECTLY to the Unovan Dragons! (Remember, in BW, Plazma attacks the Nacarene Museum because they thought the Dragonite Skeleton was from the Dragons!) A Dragon that blazed across the Region and Burned everything. A Dragon that released lightning across the Region and Shocked everything. Both of these matches not just Zekrom and Reshiram, but ALSO Koraidon AND Miraidon. Plus, we first saw a distinction between Past and Future take center stage in BW, with Black and Black2 having elements of a far-future, and White and White2 showing elements of the distant past. If we get another Legends treatment like for Sinnoh, we'll most likely see a traditional Remake of BW, and 2 Legends Games--one following Kyurem in the distant past, and one following Genesect in the far future...
And it this Crispin, the cook with Red Orange hair is related to Alder/Benga. People think he is related to Chili, but all depends on the timeline of when the gen 9 Pokemon games are set. Like, Crispin is clearly older than 10, while Chili, Cress and Cilan are unlikely to have been older than 16 in the Unova games.
@@nickdentoom1173 The triplets could easily be 18~19 by B2W2 (16 or so in BW) So it depends on when SV and SwSh take place. If SV is even 10 years after BW, it still works. But if Benga is Crispin's father, it's a bit of a stretch. Benga is definitely younger than the triplets.
@@gabriellockwood2780 I am not saying Benga is the father, but that Alder is Crispins grandfather, like Benga. Maybe him and Crispin are brothers/cousins. Problem is that Crispin looks to be around 14/16 as well... so Chili is just impossible to be the father anyways.
Something I'm confused about is if Kitakami is in fact right beside Sinnoh. How are Kieran and Carmine students at BB Academy which is in Unova which I thought was based on NY. Is there a world map or something I just haven't seen
Not sure I understand the question, but they most likely just moved to Unova when they were younger so they went to school there. They said they're from Kitakami and we saw them living with their grandparents during the trip, but we don't see their parents. Maybe one of their parents were from Unova and brought their family there, or maybe something happened to them and the grandparents send the kids there in hope they get a better live.
Something strange I noticed when the Loyal three got reserected the particles that came out looked like dynamax energy specifically Eternamax energy now this could just be gamefreak reusing assets but it could be something
For point #7, i thought it was reference to the movie minigame you go through in Unova and some of the battles you have there are pokemon dressed as Kaiju
When he uses the word “kaiju,” my first thought was the movies. He’s been spending time in Unova, home of Pokéstar Studios. As you may recall, in the Pokéstar Studio movies, you do battle monsters that aren’t Pokémon.
1:33 I think Duraludon decided to blend into the Unova landscape by looking like a bridge rather than a tower as a way to escape some new undiscovered airplane Pokemon native to the Unova region. If so, smart.
I know this is early to say and wrong timing to say this, but I'm gonna miss you when ya go. I started watching your channel from when the Crystal Onix theory dropped and was there ever since. Your videos are wholesome and amazing just like this one. Soar high, Pokémon Master. I'll always adore and be jealous of the Ash Ketchum audio during the outro via Veronica Taylor. That part is like the cherry on the BKT cake
In real life , you would have to swim roughly 20km to go from the island of hokkaido, where sinnoh/hisui is, to the island where kitakami is . Then, You would have to walk for roughly 3 days. Its difficult , but not impossible. The record for the bigger distance a person ever swam in the sea was 129 km.
There is a very very minor reference that came with the DLC (but not needed to find it) the music that plays when you select it in the camera are all from Johto, being the Pokemon March, wild pokemon encounter theme and Pokemon Lullaby
I found an easter egg where a bunch of clafaries spawn on top of oni mountain dancing on a full moon at night time .. as it stated on the pokedex and a call back to past games like legends arceus
I think Kieran’s familiarity with kaiju is just a reference to kaiju in fiction, probably movies, since they do have movies in the Pokémon world, just like when we talk about kaiju, we don’t assume it means they’re literally real.
I very much doubt Billy and O'nare. Yes, Nemona's parents own a bug company, and so do the Glitterati, but its explicity stated the Glitterati own a Real estate brand, and Nemonas parents own a phone brand. They also look nothing like her. They have fair skin and light hair, and Nemona has darker skin and black hair
@@shinken6636 1. The Mom really doesn't look like Nemona, they just both have uptied hair. 2. Owning a fancy phone case has NOTHING to do with owning an entire phone production company 3. Things that are in the code can be changed and scrapped. If they decided to remove them from Nemona's house, then there's a good chance them being her parents was scrapped as an idea
Also worth remembering that PokeStar Studios in Unova actually produced several 'giant monster' and 'alien invasion' type movies - that could be part of the pop culture the kids are encountering and where the term 'kaijuu' comes from.
Here's my interpretation of Kieran's "Kaiju" comment - He's from Blueberry Academy from the Unova region, and what is there in Unova? Pokestar Studios! He's simply referencing the movies he may have seen!
Honestly, my personal theory is that Carmine and Kieren are relatives of Geeta which does lead credence to her getting her Glimmet at the Crystal Pool. Could she be behind why no one but those authorized by the league can go into Area Zero? Because it has the Crystal Phenomenon similar to the Pool that Outsiders aren't supposed to go to?
I haven’t heard any poketuber give a theory about Unova and Paldea having Crystalization similarities and it’s crazy that Briar is from Unova and I have a weird feeling we will see Colress again. Since Gen 6 ,Crystals have been a hidden part of the story and has a lot to do with the future of the games how they are all going to connect someday.
Glimmets can also be found in the tunnel connecting western province 2 and western province 3, as well as caves in eastern province 3. She probably got hers from there. While rare, they do appear there without even needing sandwiches. Is interesting how abundant they are at the crystal pool though. They certainly like their Tera crystals
I've seen a bunch of people mention Geetas glimora being a area zero pokemon but I found one in dalizapa(idk the spelling atm) pass pokemon center around where you find deino and snorunt
O-Nare consantly wanting to battle? barely. She challenges you three out of the 7-10 times you see them. Carmine and Keiran challenge you more than she does. Glimmet could be found in some caves in Paldea when you're in the area where the Ortworm Titan can be found so your theory about Geeta is void there.
This relates to the time difference, I wonder if Paldea and Kitakami are antipodes of one another in the Pokemon World could this mean that the crystal slammed into Pladea and the remnant surfaced in Kitakami?
you can totally get glimmet outside the crater in paldea inside caves north of levincia. Also I doubt Geeta would survive in area zero given how weak and inept she is.
Glimmet has always been available outside area zero though, in the quarry tunnels near Orthworm, I caught one on my first playthrough and used it on my original team
If you closely see the origin of the man and ogerpon there is a fourth member to the loyal three which is momotaro.if you saw the pokedex entries of the loyal 3 it is registered as the retainer pokemon . So a Pokemon based on momotaro could be the trio master of the loyal 3 pls reply if you think this theory is correct
Did anyone else immediately think that the Caretaker is Mr Fuji from Kanto? They have very similar models, and the Caretaker wears purple; the signature color of Lavender Town.
Here is my suggestion do you know how almost at the end of the DLC she talks about like she wants to say something, but she says no we just became friends, so not right now this feels weird to say, but I feel like she has some like feelings for you or whatever
