I heard a lot about the Monster Experiment in AP Psychology. I found interest in it because as a child I had some speech impediments that grew worse as I got older. I had a speech therapist in elementary school. She dropped me as a client before I started middle school due to my "bad attitude." By the end of middle school my speech was completely normal.
Shouldn't have been the top though. Let's see, hurt a kid's feewings, turned a human into an unrecognizable monster. Monster...Feewings...Monster.....Feewings. Gonna go with Monster.
I think Matt is discussing real experiments that actually happened. That sleepless nazi experiment is an urban legend that almost certainly didn't happen.
nomanchris Oh, yes. I know about the monstrous "experiments" of the nazis. It's too bad those who committed those horrific tortures can't be brought back and have the same done to them.
What if the tinfoil hats are to enhance the brainwaves that the government is using to control us? Like putting tinfoil on a router so it gets better Wi-fi signal?
Multiple of these were either conducted without the government, were done by dogmatic idiots or were done during times of tension i.e. apartheid or around wars
"Alright guys, were just gonna have a fun little experiment! Were gonna divide half of you students into prisoners and the other half guards! Dont worry this should be fun and safe!" *6 days later* "JESUS CHRIST WHAT HAPPENED HERE"
how do vids like these get a thumbs down? its presented in an informative manner. if experiments like these were done not that long ago, how many u think are going on right now..?
I know an experience that happenned in the URSS during the WWII where a subject had all 5 senses removed (the eyes, the nose, the tongue and the ears where removed, his skin was burnt in a way to remove the sense of feeling). The subject began to turn crazy, saying he listened to voices, he said he listened to dead person, he even found the name of one of the scientific dead wife and he also guessed other things. He perceived multiple things without any sense. But after some days, he lost the possibility of talking since he couldn't hear himself (he forgot how to speak normally). There aren't any explanation about why the subject guessed things he couldn't know.
Error! Sans No, it really happened. The only think that isn't sure is what the scientists said (the fact that the guy guessed the name of one scientist's dead wife).
My English Teacher assigned an essay about the Standford Prison Experiment. Unfortunately, the events I read about it were so disturbing that I didn't even WANT to write about them. And my teacher allowed me to do a different assignment (which I'm still waiting to do since she hasn't gave me the replacement essay yet.)
"NATURALLY inquizzative by NATURE" Matt you have a reoccurring habit of redundantly repeating yourself by restating something you had said and spoken with different words and verbage
There are a number that you missed, and in fact, maybe you could do a sequel video. They include the broken toy experiment, the summer camp that made to groups of kids basically wage war on each other, the experiment that made kids attack a clown, and the experiment that turned a guy into the Unabomber. Oh, and the botched circumcision of David Reimer.
+PR Frezzii Being German does not make you guilty for another German man's crimes. You should not have to feel bad for what someone else did long before you were born.
Danielle Johnston True... But you can't deny, the way he presents himself, the way he talks in this video and everything else... It just reminds me a lot of Rob Dyke
I'm sorry I just done see or hear that. And I watch both of there videos all the time. Matt has a more bit beat and active way that he moves and talks while Rob is more serious and less animated.
I don't mind the idea of experimenting on a dead human body, in case you might find something that could help the living. But experimenting on the living, creating permanent trauma or physical damage, is just horrifying. Especially #10 just gave me a sick feeling in the stomach :(
Jaggedbird if such experiments did happen, would you mind showing evidence other than some 89 year old "survivor" who has numbers on his arm which can easily have been made using tattoos or markers?
Funny, if anything like this happened in, say, Russia, all the Americans would be like, 'Glad we live in Murica where we have freedom and rights'...Yeaaaahh.
Agent Orange was spread in the Pinal Mountains in Globe, Arizona. People died from cancer and offspring suffered as well. A few years ago a fire was in the area of Kellner Canyon, the area of agent Orange. Dioxins were released into the air. The worst of it is no one wants to take responsibility. To my understanding this issue has made it all the way to the white house yet nothing was done. It might be helpful if you could look into this and possibly have an episode on this. Thank you for your time.
Well, any experiment (just about) during the Cold War was sadistic. Sense after all, we viewed each other as infidel, and still in some ways do. We didn't care for showing mercy to them, and expected little mercy handed to us.
Then explain why I didn’t feel pain from my surgery until 3 days after, if it was a memory wipe then you’d feel it as soon as you woke up, but I was completely fine for 3 days
The speech experiment one on kids broke my heart how can could why did this happen absolutely awful really terrible thing to do. Some of these kids developed speech and mental health problems physiologically damaged until they were all in adulthood. Very damaging
Yeah.. the White Room/sensory deprivation one sounds like my actual WORST NIGHTMARE. Although I will say the speech therapy with the little kid orphans is especially fcked up and really pissed me tf off tbh. They all sound like they suck though lol
I would probably enjoy Matts videos WAAAAAAAAAY MORE if he just kicked back abit and just narrated his videos instead of being a RU-vid Video Anchor , he got DOPE content BUUT his love for that clout juuuuuust throws me a bit off track ESPECIALLY his thumbnails LMFAO , I love the way he in cooperates his face in them AS IF that will be the selling point , OR IS IT ??!!! *DunDunDUUNNNNNNNNEvilMusic* . . . .
That's also my only complaint on his videos! I prefer his older videos because he just talked over it, made it feel a bit more natural, but now it's always as if he's reading from a script.
My grandfather died from kidney cancer due to Agent Orange... After seeing the affects that AO had on the offspring of his fellow soldiers, he decided not to have anymore children... My father is his only, conceived before leaving for Vietnam
Humans are the real monsters. Not the ones that come from your imagination. You look at it, anyone can be like this. Anyone can do these horrible things to others
Good and evil aren't social constructs, they are the result of evolution making some good at helping their group and others good at harming their group.
Gone downhill America's bombed Japan twice, killing people who had little to nothing to do with the war. Imperial Japan supposedly killed and raped 2 million Chinese people. The Soviets conducted horrible experiments on their prisoners. All countries had their faults, humanity as a whole had too many faults to count.
Gone downhill no kidding especially mk ultra and was from America and no that's a actual project that was way worse than the games and the files would've been burnt had there not been a misfile which I thought to be the reason for a mysterious game cabinet called probious I believe
No monster has ever been imagined or witnessed that will do something so horrible that one human would not do the same to another. Every human has a monster inside, some just manage to control it.
"Monsters do not choose to be monsters, they are born too large, too different, too strange." Humans are the only species cruel enough to choose to be beasts.
That is very interesting, Jennifer Campbell that you should mention such a thing. Many people think that human beings are "Good" at the core "heart" of their being. But the bible talks about humankind's "heart" is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, and who can know the "heart" of humankind. Jeremiah 17:9 .... Rephrased you are saying the same thing "Every human is desperately wicked (has a monster inside) some(I noticed you didn't say all or most) just manage to control it." You have suggested that "we all" humankind have this "monster some just keep it locked in a cage, while others let it roam free. My question is, How then can "we all" get rid of it?
Luke Williamson I'm not sure we can ever get rid of our dark side. I think it's better to admit that we have it. By facing reality we are able to deal with things as they really are, not as we wish they were. Example: An alcoholic in recovery will avoid bars, so as not to be tempted. If he was in denial of his addiction, he might go to bars, always planning on only having one or two drinks. Only when he accepts the reality of his condition can he deal with it in a successful way. I do not think most people set out to do evil things, but they are so disappointed with parts of their lives that they can't even face it, let alone except it, deal with it, and move on. The temptation of the easy way is just impossible for many people to fight.
In many ways I would agree with you Jennifer, I like the fact that you are honest with yourself enough to see how the reality of human beings are, and have the potential within to do despicable and horrible things to one another. [ Now that does not mean that the person WILL choose to live that way, ONLY they have within them a "sinful" desire to achieve such things] If you have ever read the book the Lord of the Flies, the author brings out this point very clearly. (Which really makes a person think a little deeper about life) There are many people that do not want to accept this as their reality, they like to think that they would never do such horrendous acts and live with the idea that the are basically good. Many people hold to their pride strongly (stubbornly) and they tell themselves that they deserve and are entitled to so many things. But when in reality they are selfish, rebellious, and full of deceit [whether the deceit is to themselves (ie denial) or to others (ie they lie) to hide the truth] One of the KEY statements that you made is "Only when he accepts the reality of his condition can he deal with it in a successful way." but you left out an important piece of the puzzle, and that is " To who's standard should we as humans live up to?
When I saw this title I immediately thought of the "Angel of Death" or Dr. Death, the Nazi concentration camp scientist who did horrifying experiments on the prisoners and most notably had a fascination with twins leading him to do a lot of experiments on twins.
"Humans are naturally inquisitive creatures by nature." Kind of a tautology there, don't you think? You could just go with: "Humans are naturally inquisitive creatures." Or "Humans are inquisitive creatures by nature."
