Skinny girls wanna be thicc... Thicc girls wanna be skinny... No one's ever happy... Its so sad :( And the worst part is that the society has made us entitled to feel this way
It pisses me off that people can't just accept everyone, fat of skinny, it also pisses me off that If someone is called fat it's a huge deal and classed as an insult but calling someone skinny isn't, like wtf, just coz in the past people have wanted to be skinny as a "body goal" doesn't mean it feels good to be told "ur so skinny",especially with all the stuff like this that makes skinny girls feel ugly, and the fact that it’s curvy girls that guys find most attractive, like I have been told things like "wow ur so skinny ur like a walking stick", that shit upsets me, like the way if someone said to a fat girl, "ur so fat ur like a whale" people would go mad coz it's apparently mean but calling someone a stick isn't?! Personally I don't wanna be skinny but it's not like I starve myself I eat like a pig so why don't we just love everyone for who they r☺️rather than shaming people based on their appearance🙄
Lauren x , Insulting someone by saying they're skinny or fat are both bad but you have to admit that the "fat insults" are worse. When people call you skinny, they're jealous. When people call you fat, they think you're disgusting. One of those things stings more than the other...
Zealous Zombae no being called a stick is also bad you are probably not skinny that's way you don't understand how it feels and I know being called fat can also be rude be it's just so unfair how the society reacts to different body types
Wolflover122 , it is jealousy. You may not think it is. But that's exactly what it is. When girls are jealous they get nasty and really bitchy (for the most part)
Zealous Zombae whatever pleases you, but just so you know, its opinion based, and to belittle the insults I get daily is almost worse than fat shaming someone
the thumbnail pisses me off coz like the girl on the left and skinny but the girl on the right is still skinny lke a flat stomach but with thicc lower body
Nikoleta Budai . me too. Both those girls are super skinny. They shouldn’t have been used for the thumbnail at all. Fake butt implants don’t make you un-skinny
Josef Bauers curvy is way better thin being skinny. Not hatin or nothing but when your skinny you have like zero sexyness. You don't even have curvs. I couldn't live with myself if I was skinny.
+Carlyse Boles I'm curvy, (Big butt, big lips, big tits, and wide hips.) but what you said is literally hating. You are saying that skinny people aren't sexy. And that being curvy is better. You are skinny-shaming. O-O
3:09 it says a “womanly body” as in not skinny, but the thing is everyone’s body is different and for some people they may be skinny and for others they may not be but videos like this is what causes women to feel self conscious and all women should love themselves whether thick or thin or anything in between
Skinny isn't better and neither is being bigger better. Dang, can we teach people to just love the body God blessed them with. Some people like me are naturally born skinny its called genetics. Some people are naturally born thicker, once again its called genetics. One is not better then the other. Their both beautiful shapes and sizes seeesh.
wow... I'm skinny cuz I have a condition, called stomach acid reflux. (I can't eat foods with high levels of acid) So I have to eat smaller meals. This title is so misleading! All body types should be appreciated. Not only cubby people, skinny people are really self conscious too.
This video literally say if your skinny and female, your not a woman. Want proof go to 2:34 this is for anyone who wants to argue that this video isn't insulting skinny people
SijnWright Ikr! My mom just got me some Pepto Bismol cuz the other medicine is horrible, it specifically helps with stomachs and headaches, has no taste, you don't have to chew it either!
I was bullied in 4th, 3rd, and 2nd with this children that called me "Skinny as a stick" and I'm way underweight, 62 pounds in 5th grade. I eat everything. Everyone asks "Are you starving" "Do you have an illness?" Well I'm healthy. Edit: Also I found out I have High metabolism. So yeah. And I’ve finally gain some weight. 77 :D Edit 2: Omg thanks for your support *Im literally shook*
Sameee I'm 81 pounds and I'm 14 and honestly, I don't care. Others seem to make it their priority to judge others based on their physique and it sickens me. I think EVERYONE should be accepted and loved, and not be persuaded to change any aspects of themselves because someone else doesn't agree with it. To hell with people who hate skinny, to hell with people who hate thick.
After watching this video, I just feel really bad because I’m really skinny and have to constantly hear people make fun of me for it. What we should be hearing is that everyone has insecurities, but everyone is beautiful in their own way.
Tess Wess they are probably just making fun of you because they want what they don't have, that you have! You were created perfect, and your confidence in your beauty will only intensify every good thing about you! Never leave room for shallow people in your life, you deserve better :) xxx
Lowkey_ army every picture of skinny people all the models. being skinny is more excepting. There is nothing about being a normal weight I can find. Either your big and beautiful or skinny and beautiful. nothing about normal and beautiful.
Okay, so... let me understand this. Before, chubby or overweight women were considerated as physically unattractive while skinnier girls were THE BOMB. Those who had a bigger shape of body were discriminated when sometimes it wasn't even their fault being that way (since it has a lot to do with genes and stuff as well). Now, sociality is accepting girls who are naturally chubby, it's okay right? But then, what happens to the skinny girls? Yep, they get criticized... why? Cuz apparently people have nothing better to do than talking shit about different kind of people dependings on trends. How stupid does that sounds? -Someone who is done with this shit.
Alissa Neri actually weight has barely anything to do with genes if you knew a few basic things about how the human body works you would know that. While some people have a slightly broader bone structure fat is just excess energy
Alissa Neri I totally agree with you. People should be respected because they are people no matter the size. On the other side happy little raincloud isn't watching the whole picture about this video. At some point of it a girl who was sick and then gained weight is described as "she looked amazing on the outside, she still felt unhappy", that description show us that whoever write for this video still thinks she looked okay or healthy although she wasn't.
My Name Is Jet You are not ugly. Ugly is letting yourself go and not fixing it. Ugly is not caring about how you look. As long as you care about being healthy, you are beautiful.
My Name Is Jet me too. 'Stick thin' that hurt me because I'm always called a twig they should understand that they could hurt skinny girls/boys ik my opinion is stupid, but it's how I feel
Haha. Appreciate all body types. I can sure appreciate my once fat grandfather who got diagnosed with diabetes. I can sure appreciate the thousands of people who die of heart disease every year. I can appreciate my brother who grew a fat tumor on his stomach at age 9. I love to lie to myself because I am an SJW!!
I saw the title, and my stomach immediately dropped. Skinny isn’t beautiful. Way to discourage girls while trying to lift them up, talko. Just as a woman shouldn’t feel ashamed for being larger than “normal,” other women shouldn’t be ashamed for being skinny. This is _not_ the way to it. I’m disappointed.
It says "skinny isn´t BETTER" and it´s true, no body type is better than other. Being skinny was considered PERFECT for YEARS and people were/are always bullied for being too big, not too small. Trust me, I was a chubby girl and was literally HATED by EVERYONE only based on my appearance alone, now I´m skinny and people find me very likeable... and while that´s great, it hurts to know that people can change their opinion so easily. Be happy with what you have and don´t feel offended... nowadays so many women can finally feel beautiful thanks to THIS. Noone here implies that skinny bodies are less attractive than bigger. EVERYONE IS SPECIAL.
Zuzana Rýcová “Skinny Isn’t Better” implies exactly what it says. Skinny isn’t better. When people say something “isn’t better,” they exactly what they said. Something else is better. I realize that you have an opinion, and I respect how you see it differently. You are coming from a different perspective as I am. The whole video is littered with skinny shaming phrases, whether they realize it or not. You can’t deny that a ton of skinny girls in the comments are feeling hurt by this, our feelings are valid, just like yours! It’s not that any of us are fishing for things to be offended about, it’s that this video simply did it the wrong way. Everyone knows exactly what that title implies. I just ask that if you disagree with someone’s feelings (my comment was not an opinion, it was a valid expression of how this video makes me feel.) don’t respond to them disagreeing. I see what you’re saying though, but I just don’t think this was the comment you should have replied to, considering I wasn’t denying anything you had said.
Zuzana Rýcová I wouldn’t say we one of our opinions are right, but we disagree. You are seeing this video in a completely different way than me, and you should respect that from _my_ perspective, this video is extremely offensive. Whatever the title means to you, great. but that title means a whole lot to me, so please don’t tell me my feelings aren’t valid. I don’t even want to argue with you, because we’re both right. You say that no body type is better than the other, that is correct. I’m saying, that this video is offensive and that it’s dedicated to showing bodies that are “better” than being skinny. That’s _I_ see, and I realize that’s not what you see.
+Sara Caroline I respect your point and yes, it would be much better if there were all body types respectfully represented. But I also think that just because it say that it's not better than other body types, doesn't mean it's worse. The point of this video is to show that the gorgeos people on instagram that seem perfect, isn't the only beautifull body, it also breaks down streotypes that if you are bigger you can't dance do yoga and so on. And remember I said now I am also skinny and I don't feel any less atractive because of this video. Yut yes it would be better if every body was there and every was glorified. But we also shouldn't be too sensitive, in the end it's just a youtube video.
Zuzana Rýcová at the end of the day it’s just a RU-vid video, that demeans skinny bodies. I see your point, but the whole video is centered around everything that they think is _better than skinny_ . What if the video was called, “reasons why curvy isn’t better.” Im pretty sure you’d be pissed if someone told you to not “be too sensitive.” Once again, I see this video as offensive because that title means a lot to me. You have absolutely no right to tell me that I shouldn’t be upset.
I’m not skinny but I feel like the title kinda hurt people “skinny isn’t better” some people can’t help it, some people are just naturally skinny I think everyone should be healthy and happy and sometimes people just come out thicker no matter how much they work out or eat healthy and it’s beautiful and if you’re skinny you bet your butt you’re beautiful too
Well but they‘re right - skinny ISN‘T better! Neither is being big. No (healthy) body is better than another. Why would you be offended when it’s simply stated that you aren’t BETTER? They aren’t saying your body type is worse...
Cheyenne Is shook yes I agree that some things said in this video were not okay, I think the title is saying it isn't better to be skinny, what do you want them to say? Skinny is better?
Cheyenne Is shook you know what I agree! I have been 70lb and over 300lb ... now, i dread to think. But big or small. Insults really, seriously hurt badly. I've experienced both.
Girls that are "bigger" wanna be skinny. Girls that are "skinny" wanna be bigger. Life would be so much easier if we all just learned to accept ourselves and others for who we are. Not just our appearance. We are ALL beautiful. Never compare yourself to ANYONE. Just keep being you.
That's very stereotypical. Not all people are unhappy about about their weight and people who are, it's because the people around them make them feel like they need to be to slimmer or thicker
I think the title is a little offensive... Because skinny girls doesn't like to be called skinny either. Everyone knows that you should never call anyone fat but apparently it's okay call people skinny. Cause in school I was sometimes called skeleton. And I hated it😭 maybe it's not so healthy to be skinny or fat but all body types are beautiful in their own way❤️
I don’t think anyone’s been offended by being called skinny before, but of course if you were called a ‘skeleton’ i’m sorry about that kids will do anything to bring someone else down which sucks but it would be extremely discouraged by everyone around them and it would happen nearly as often.
Truth be told, society wants chicks to be skinny, even if no one wants to admit it. The title wasn't offensive at all, it didn't say that "curvy is better", it just tried to explain that's pretty much the same as being skinny. Skinny is not better. Curvy is not better. We just want our respect for what we are, no matter what.
Lieutenant Gray Squirrel Exactly. I mean, since I am skinny many may say I'm hating, but really, I'm not. Half of the womem in these videos aren't plus sized, and even of they were, other bodys are beautiful to. I just am upset fat shaming is a huge no-no, and it is. But when you skinny shame, it's alright. No biggie
I like how they were trying to empower curvy women yet called a marathon runner "bigger than life" .... side note - why is it we have to shame other body types just to makes certain people feel better? we should all just be able to appreciate each other. Half of the women they showed in this video were MODELS for heaven's sake. Models (even when curvy) still aren't a realistic standard of beauty for average people. rant over. sorry~
xoCem these women aren’t curvy, they’re overweight or obese which is unhealthy. You could go to the gym everyday as an obese person and still have the same high risk of heart disease. I think it’s disgusting that they allow underweight and overweight people into the beauty industry because they’re promoting unhealthy lifestyles. You’re not ugly for being fat but you’re not pretty either, these people can’t be bothered to change their lifestyles and so try and advocate for it. It’s called an obesity epidemic for a reason.
アロイス Prince .None of these girls are obese or overweight you don’t know any of these women. If there not ugly for being fat and there not pretty either then what are they.
I agree! They say that Jazzy is "curvier than your average Instagram model", but she is not actually curvy. They just don't want to say that she is fat, which I don't think she is, or thick, which is a better way of explaining her body type. If actually curvy girls see this, they might think that this is what curvy is and might think being curvy is something bad or something that people shame others for being and that won't boost confidence...
I’m naturally skinny but get bullied because I have no butt or I apparently don’t eat. Making videos like this are yes inspirational but they also put people down who are skinny. Skinny isn’t just Victoria secret model you know!
When were they body shaming? When were they saying "skinny people are ugly"? This video is to encourage overweight people to feel comfortable in their own bodies.
I weighed 25kg a couple years ago it wasn't pretty especially when I had to laugh it off whenever people called me "anorexic" I was ashamed of myself, I WAS ashamed of my OWN body at the age OF 10 where were not supposed to have any worries. Whenever I wore school trousers it really look like my legs were not in there and it was hard to find my size. At the age of 11 when I entered high school things became pretty hectic. I would come to school and always look at my legs in the shop mirror of tesco whenever I was walking and feel completely and utterly disgusted I was just bones. I would get the occasional "hey do you eat" or "how could u eat so much yet not gain a single stone". At the age of 13 when I was in year 9 I weighed about 34kg and I would always be scared to go out with my friends and wear jeans afraid of how baggy they look on me or how I would wear jeans for 8 YEAR OLDS at the age of 13 and always afraid of my thigh gap. now at the age of 14 i have come to love myself a bit but rarely put my hand up because I don't want people seeing my horrible thin wrists. However the moral of the story was people think skinny shaming is not as bad as fat shaming nowadays people always have videos encouraging people who are bigger than me and downgrading skinny people of course people say to me "oh I wish I was as skinny as you" or "you could be a model" but that doesn't really help it doesn't make me feel comfortable in my OWN skin it doesn't make me HAPPY.
Same here. Honestly for skinny people it's scary to see ur ribcage. I'm ten right now and i'm about to go into highschool. People call me a twig which i laugh at but if they say i need to eat i get discouraged even though i eat as much as i can. Stay strong.
Tzuyu - I feel the same way all the time. Ppl are asking you things like: "do you ever eat" or "are you anorexic" etc. I eat as much as I can but I just can't gain weight.
I am 11 and struggling with the exact opposite thing. I am more on the thicker side and get bullied because of it. I try to cut down on food but nothing helps :/
I'm sick of everyone saying how great it is to have more size differences in clothes and models. I want to see a model my height (5') and maxi dresses for short girls. Who's with me?
I get the feeling! I am 5'3 and I have definitely experienced it before when trying out certain clothing like trousers who were too long, including a pair of trousers from a brand I like that rarely gets sold loutside of the UK and I don't live there so I had been so excited. I would like more short-proof clothing too, sign me up.
I have the same issue! I'm 5'2" & before my life changing surgery, I was overweight. So trying to find something for a short fat girl was near impossible. Now that I'm losing weight, it's still a struggle, but getting a bit easier.
I love how you're trying to make women feel good about their own body but to be honest this video can make skinny girls concious about themselves, just because they are skinny their body is perfect. We should not compare our bodies with each other because we are beautiful in our body just the way we are..
Da'Naja Brown the video kind of makes it seem like that it does make it look like when they're comparing fat people people to skinny people which has a lot of skinny people and you know there are two types of shaming shaming skinny people and shaming fat people my mother is a beautiful woman even though she's chubby and my dad said two friends who are mistakes and I love them for that there are amazing but you shouldn't shame any of them forever anything anything this is stupid even if you don't think you're shaming don't say anything rude around them away everything like you that was not proper grammar
Angeline Guioguio imagine how bigger women feel when everywhere they look thin women are plastered everywhere and praised all the time. The video is for bigger women and trying to tell them that skinny isn't the only way you can be beautiful.
True. It says that skinny isn't better so fat is better. And that kinda made me think a little bit about my body, because I'm skinny, but I didn't choose to be skinny. I eat like a normal person and I just don't get fat. I'm underweight.
Big doesn't necesserily mean unhealthy and neither does skinny. Can we just agree that everyone is beautiful without always having to put someone else down?
GypsyMoon I am bothered by the fact that they would NEVER uploud a video that says fat isn't better 😟 Its almost like fat people are before skinny people
Fat has always been the norm in western society. The average woman is not a size 0-4 despite what images the media pushes. Most times i have to shop in the juniors section because "womens" wear is way to big for my body size and i am damn near 30. So this idea that women have that they are supposed to be thin is a fallacy. The norm is to be fat or thick and it has always been abnormal to be thin and thats why designers choose supermodels are so thin and attractive because it is seemingly unnatainable to the general masses.
Addie Belcheva yeah:( i can’t gain weight and i only weigh 70-80 pounds and i’m 13 which i should weigh : 90-120 :’( my arms and legs are so tiny and i hate it
Indigo X wtf what does this have to do with her comment? So because being over a size 4 is the case for most women in America it’s alright for this vid to trigger people? Is that what you’re trying to say?
nøa No it's the "hourglass" figure that's the ideal. It's been wanted since the 1800s with their weird ass corsets. 😞 Skinny or big isn't in. It's what's in between that's in....and that's a painful shame. Smh
I'm actually not offended by this at all I mean they never said that any body type was better than the other all this video really says is that skinny isn't better, the video never stated that skinny is ugly
itzz.kezia B but that's not a true statement because no body is perfect and unlike skinny people most fat people archetypes only make people think about how unhealthy those people are. They can't title it that because it's not true.
Curves ARE beautiful! But that doesn't mean girls who don't have curves aren't beautiful or are unhealthy. I've been naturally skinny my whole life, and I'll never have a big chest or hips. I wish that people would accept that both skinny and curvy are beautiful. Society went from "Skinny is beautiful! Curvy girls need to lose weight!" straight to "Real women have curves! Skinny girls are unhealthy!" Both are wrong! There is not ONE body type that is healthy for all women. Everyone is different.
I myself am big, and it bothers me that they are saying skinny isn't better. They could've just said "big is just as good as skinny" or something that doesn't shame anybody.
Being fat/chubby is totally fine. Being skinny/thin is totally fine. Being obese isn't, I'm not fat shaming, but the amount of health problems related to your bones, heart, and organs is REALLY bad. Being anorexic/extremely underweight isn't ok either. Same goes, the amount of health problems that come along with it are increasing. I understand if you can't help it, but the fact that people are 'accepting' anorexic girls and extremely obese girls isn't good, especially to all the young girls/women seeing it.
Joshua Fyfe If you didn't see, I mentioned that it's fine to be large as long as your healthy and it's not causing health problems. Read that paragraph slowly and tell me that again.
What is beautiful about 400,000 people dying of obesity every year in the US alone? What is beautiful about heart defects, risk of heart attack and stroke, birth defects, infertility, joint pain, lower quality of life etc.? Anorexia and obesity are NOT beautiful. There is absolutely nothing attractive about a glutton who gorges themselves into an early grave. Everyone who has has a loved one die from obesity... hates that kind of talk.
Amanda Idleman Who said anything about a size 12? I said fat, which equals obese, which equals unhealthy. Of course too skinny is unhealthy too. Learn to read
I'm kind of offended...I'm really skinny. I eat so much. The doctors every time tell me I'm underweight. I really hope to gain weight though... It's hard to be this skinny. (Please don't hate I'm just saying how I personally feel.) Edit: Also if your curvy that's fine! I will never be mean to you.
Sugartastic or you can try using apetamin it’s a Syrian that boost your appetite and slowest your metabolism. There are many reviews on it. I’ve tried it and I went from 80 pounds to 103 in just three weeks and I’m 14 btw
Sara Jørgensen you also have take in consider health issues that make you gain weight or don't allow you to gain weight and family genes. Medical weights are not always right
Sara Jørgensen, but some people can't gain weight or lose weight, no matter how they try. I have tried starving myself, exercising for hours, going on horrible diets, if starving didn't work. I cannot lose weight.
Wow...I can't believe this. I understand we should encourage overweight ppl. But u don't encourage them by discouraging slimmer ppl. This is very disappointing. 😔
taravat sohrabi zamani at what point was slimmer people being discouraged? Literally nothing in this video said anything about skinny girls and how their "ugly" or something like that.
I have to leave for school in a couple of mins, so I can't write a lot, but just read the title of the vid. It's says ' why slimmer is not better' or something like that. It's literally saying being slim isn't as good as being fat.
taravat sohrabi zamani Nope it says slimmer is not "always" better which basically means that slimmer people are of course beautiful but there is also people who are plus size who are also beautiful. I can understand the misinterpretation but in no way did it insult skinny people. I hope you understand now :)
Niamh Spence look at the thumbnail. Also they keep saying skinny isn’t better. I’m really skinny (I can’t gain any weight. It took me months and months to gain 5 pounds.) and it’s hard. I also think it’s hard for curvy people to but there is a way to make curvy people feel good about themselves instead of bringing down skinny girls.
I’m skinny and I’m happy. I don’t care about being thicc. I’m happy to be me. 😁💓 Most girls want to be thicc to get noticed. To get a guy’s attention. Like if the guy doesn’t like you for who you are then to hell with it. Forget him. Find someone who loves you for you :p Never let a man give you everything btw. Be independent. Edit- “Just because you’re skinny and happy dosen’t mean that everyone is” I didn’t say that everyone was happy being them...”
Aya Jab No, I don't have any eating disorder, but it's so hard for me to gain weight, and these days, curvy girls are the most loved, and when you're skinny, you can't wear all stuffs
Kassandre Rn Trust me, I have a curvy build and I will do anything to have a body like yours, even if it means I have to sell my soul to the devil. Please don't feel bad about your body. There's nothing wrong with being skinny unless you undergo an eating disorder to get that way.
Idk if I'm going to get hate for this but I love curvy body they're beautiful but what about the skinny girls? The girls that eat a lot but don't gain weight, then get called twigs, sticks, anorexic. Girls like me. We have only accepted curvy and skinny and tall but *no one* see us. We don't identify as those skinny models because we are something different. What I am trying to say is why can't we accept yes the curvy body but ever since beautiful curvy ppl have came into the spot light it's now that we get called out about how we don't eat enough or how we need to gain weight but we can't because we lose calories sooo easily. So what I'm trying to say is, why can't we accept both body types. Edit: Do not say that it's because curvy ppl were talked down to in the past because that is vengeful and spiteful. Because I have NEVER down talked a curvy person for their body type.
I am underweight it is just as serious a struggle. I can't go a day without someone calling me a twig. People tell me I look anorexic and need to put on some weight. I eat a lot actually. I try to eat healthy fats like avocado oats, and pastas. But nothing works. I'm also very tall so it emphasizes how skinny my arms and legs are. 😞
Emily Hilgeman, I feel you, one time a person said that I was so skinny they thought my legs would break. Smh, and all the body positivity only for the more curvier girls...it sucks.
I was also lucky enough to have a slim body, no matter how much I eat, I don't gain weight. I only gained a lot of weight when I started working out in the gym, I managed to reach almost 175lbs at one time. Because of gym I became more conscious with the food I consume.. Even I stopped working out, I still try to control my diet. I don't want the day would come that I will get sick because of all the excess food I eat. Now I am averaging at 138-142lbs.. But I still look skinny because of my bone structure.
Well I’m about to be going into my Sophomore year and I have still never hit over 90lbs. I’m only 84lbs. I’ve been made fun of because of how far I am behind all of the other girls. My “friends” always told me I was as flat as Spongebob and that a cereal box had more curves than me. That has never left my mind set and I think about it all the time. Guys only like girls who have curves. I’m super self conscious and I can’t even wear a 2 piece bathing suit let alone wearing a 1 piece around people and even if I’m alone.
Grace Neville i feel you. Im a sophmore and am 75 pounds :(. I have a super high metabolism along with having celiac disease meaning if i eat wheat it kills the parts in your intestines that get nutrients from food, they dont grow back either. I was born with it and didnt find out till i was in 2nd grade, meaning the damage had been done. I have to eat so so much food to not lose more weight. I absolutely hate my body and how skinny i am bc of this. Seeing this title on the video really didnt help either considering i cant controll my weight:(
You know what I hate, society makes skinny people feel bad and thick people feel bad to. Everyone in my school likes the really skinny girls and the buff men. I bet if I became skinny it would all become the opposite.
Olivia Rose Oh my God I have that same problem except Im not that underweight. I’m 14 and 103 lbs, I pushed myself to gain weight recently. Before I stopped eating gluten, i was very thin. I was 40 pounds at 8 years old. We found out gluten was preventing me from absorbing nutrients which helps you gain weight.
To hell what those bullies say. Gain/Lose weight for the sake of your health, not popularity. If you are big/skinny but your doctors say you are healthy and okay, then don’t do anything else with your body besides love it. Your body needs lots of love, not shaming. I have stretch marks and I know what the pain of not loving body parts that you have feels like. I hated those stretch marks, but now, those are one of the things I cherished most about my entire body. If you have saggy skin, a high/low weight number, etc, then love that part about you. Change your weight if your doctors recommend that, not if your friends and bullies encourage you to do so. As long as you have the ability to ignore and a middle finger to point at, then you’ll survive those bullies. No one said you won’t struggle trying to cope with your body, but trust me, believe that you can do it. To hell what guys and bullies badmouth about your body. Believe that you are beautiful. I believe that you are beautiful, just the way you are. :) ❤️❤️
olivia jenson I'm the exact same, it's so annoying. People constantly make jokes at how skinny I am. I feel like it's getting to the point where people don't tell chubby people how they are, but they think skinny people don't have feelings or have no clue how we look. It drives me insane
"us skinny people have feelings too" i'm skinny and my "feelings" are that this logic is fucking stupid. 1. dont tell a girl to lose some weight and be healthy, and mind your own fucking business, and 2. you can be skinny and unhealthy. in fact, with the types of food and lifestyle and genetic factors here nowadays, skinny people live shorter lives than fat people because their health problems go unresolved and undetected. also, olivia, go look at the bmis of just about every famous actress or model. they're underweight or just above underweight. that's why i got skinny. i got skinny by forcing myself to be skinny. now i'm paying for it.
ash ! Everybody has feelings..Also, I agree with you about the supermodel thing, but what about the models that are naturally skinny? Just because you've had a bad experience with your body image does not mean that every skinny or underweight girl is unhealthy. I eat a LOT, but I'm skinny from my metabolism (And I'm vegetarian, so I don't get as much protein), and I'm healthy. I still get taunted and teased, even probably more than chubbier or "average" girls.
Marie Lmao That's right your weight shouldn't stop you from feeling happy not unless it effects your health and mobility but even people who are loosing weight to get fitter and healthier can still feel happy and do things they love , which was the point of this video =p
Look I understand the body positivity and all but it isn’t fair that some people are just shaming thin girls like me, I was born with a high metabolism and with a small petite body and I’ve had “friends” that are at an average weight for their height and telling me that I’ve got no curves for a Mexican and that for a white person they have a better body than me (which I think is absurd, every one has a different body shape). DAILY, they tell me, I’m plain, basic, flat, and they even touch me though they know I tell them to stop telling me to gain weight even though I’ve tried but my body doesn’t work that way, in my opinion, body positivity is being nice to ALL shapes not just thick people or skinny people and not telling us that one body type is better than the other and I am pretty sure a 13 year old should be telling people this
Rap Monster Not Dance Monster fr same when someone calls someone fat everyone’s got there back but when someone makes fun of someone being skinny no one does I’ve been called anorexic my whole life even tho I’m not and how I am too skinny to get a guy😂
Can i just clear something up When they say "skinny" they mean ppl who go on unhealthy diets just so they can look thin not ppl who can't help being thin
DallonWeak it's 10x more unhealthy to be overweight. Being underweight isn't going to kill you from blocked arteries, it means you are healthy. I am naturally skinny but I eat a lot of (healthy) food. And I mean a lot... So naturally skinny people are hardly unhealthy it is just our body type and we can't do anything about it.
Sorry for my bad english, but i really need to say this. I know that fat people feel bad about themselves, but you think that skinny people feel better when they see videos like this one? I'm pretty skinny and it starts to bother me. There was a time when fat people were discriminated, but now its 2017. Most of the people are tolerant, we all know that fat girls are amazing and stunning. So why keep making videos like this? Yes, there are fat people that feel low, but also theres skinny people that feel the same way. Skinny ISN'T better, but fat ISN'T better either. All figures are the same and beautiful. Please stop making titles like this. And if youre reading this, youre beautiful
Ugnė Gabrielė Really? Some "fat" people don't feel bad for themselves. My bff is overweight and has been bullied her whole life about her weight, but she has always been confident in herself and still is.
well clothing brands don't accept bigger or smaller woman that's still an issue I have a friend who is very petite and she has to sometimes go to the child appartment to find clothes. and it counts for bigger woman as well that popular clothing brands just don't really work
Thank you, you wrote that in very good English, i am happy that you shared your opinion even if it ment you wrote it in a language you are not comfidante with. Yes i agree that skinny people shouldn't be shamed, and everyone should be reminded they are beautiful- the important thing is to actuly be healthy.
It doesn't matter what size you are. It never should matter. We are all created to be different and unique. Not perfect. You do you, and don't ever underestimate yourself. You are loved and beautiful. Spread positivity and joy, not hate and bullying. ♥
Megi Sturman yeah that sweet and all but in reality life right now is cruel. Plus size people are being bullied and discriminated against and skinny girls are complaining of being too skinny. The society right now is shitty
RM: And ARMY remember what we said love myself, love yourself Hope you listen to Namjoon's advice and love yourself because everybody is her own kind of beautiful
Ok, So if you're too skinny you're creepy, and if you're to big you're too ugly? The "perfect body" would be someone who gets plastic surgery at every part of there body. That's the problem. Society is so messed up that only the "perfect body" people can have respect. I find that NOT true. Anyone should be able to have respect, fat or skinny. My description of a perfect body is someone who eats properly and is happy with themselves. If your skinny and eats properly, good. If you're fat and eats well, good. It doesn't matter what your weight it. Weight is just a number, You know what also is a number? The amount of followers on insta-gram. It doesn't matter if its low or not. It doesn't matter if you're big or skinny. It doesn't matter if people comment hate. You should ignore that and find people who are pretty, people who are happy and healthy, people who take care of themselves and are happy with their on goal.
jeniboo HOLY FUCKING JESUS HOW ARE PEOPLE SO INCREDIBLY STUPID. No one fucking likes anorexic twigs and very few like completely fake plastic people either. But being a landwhale or an anorexic twig is incredibly detrimental to your health
lets be real if someone magically gets the perfect body there will still be people telling them that something is wrong and that its not right/normal to have the perfect body
Too skinny is ugly and too fat is ugly and always will be ugly to the majority of people and society. Why the heck do people complain about things like this? And no you don't need the perfect freaking body just not too skinny or fat and that's how it should always be.
I am naturally skinny I have high metabolism and sometimes people don’t appreciate that I mean the hell oh and I am also pale and sometimes when I tell people I am Latina they say I look American 😒
Most of my childhood, up until grade 5, I had a high metabolism too, and I began to never eat and was really skinny. Then also in 5th grade, I felt overweight when I went to 65 lbs. Now I'm a healthy weight, but seriously, being too skinny isn't good either.
Michelle Kim like normally Mexican or Latina girls have dark skin and dark hair so our problem is we are Mexican but we have light skin and blondish hair
The same way people tell chubby girls to stop being lazy and lose weight... is the same way you need to stop being lazy and gain weight. Think about it
Trinity Ressler some people have a really difficult time gaining or loosing weight. It's no as simple as you think with some metabolisms. I personally have a very high metabolism and I've tried everything to gain weight but I physically can't get bigger then I am right now.
Jodiah You're probably insecure about your own body. How do you know this girls weight or if she's healthy or not. You are a big dumbass and very ignorant. She didn't say anything about fat girls..go cry crocodile tears somewhere else.
I'm in 7th grade and i'm 75 pounds. I get bullied a lot, and i eat soo much but i somehow don't gain weight...and my friends say "damn your like a stick, or a cereal box" and stuff like that...I don't understand why i'm not gaining weight, can someone give me tips or something??
Polish Princess I feel you girl. But it is probably because you have got a fast metabolism. Don't worry about your body. As long as you are happy with it, that's fine. You still grow and as soon as you grew up, you will gain weight. So don't worry and let them all talk about you (if they bully you) because they perhaps want yoir body.
I was in 7th grade last year and weighed around 70 something pounds too, now im in 8th and weight 84 pounds and im 14, and i wish i could wear things that other girls my age wear, but i have to shop at the kids section, but its ok because as long as you are eating healthy (or at least not junkfood everyday) and loving yourself for you, you are going to be fine. Dont listen to those rude comments your friends or other people say because you should know you are beautiful. And as for gaining weight, like i said eat healthy and try to eat meat or protein and if you want do sports or exercise for muscle, usually middle schools have sports you can join but if not its ok, lol i dont like sports
You could try weight training but I think the best solution is visit a dr to check you are healthy. Your health is number 1 thing for concern, eat lots of healthy carbs , fruits and veggies and exercise often! If your trying to gain weight maybe eat more fattier wholefoods like nuts and avocado but don't go for bad fats like oily foods!
Anita I used to have a classmate that was so overweight they couldn't lift my 20 pound bookbag without having to take a break to catch their breath. Seems pretty strong to me.
When overweight, a special fat forms around the organs that is rather dangerous, it releases acids and enzymes that breakdown the organs and nearby flesh, also our hearts aren’t extremely different for everyone, everyone has a v6, there is a sweet spot, not a Mini Cooper(underweight) and not a semi truck(overweight), it will explode(literally bust a ventricle or artery) if it is forced to keep a semi truck running 24/7 because , like all muscles, if overworked it will tear, and when malnourished of oil(calories) the engine(heart) will give out and explode or die, overweight or underweight are unhealthy, that’s science; Not feelings.
I understand why skinny girls must feel like they're being skinny shamed but you don't see girls running around here with eating disorders saying that they want to get bigger, they want to get smaller. I think it's great to support positive body image for girls , coming from somebody who did have an eating disorder here I know the pain from both sides I do agree with this video
This video made me feel like crap because I'm really skinny and I can't help it Edit: I'm not hating on this video I'm just saying that it was kind of hurtful
BasicallyJust Leah thats not the point of the video, bigger girls have a harder time when it comes to society rather than skinnier girls. Every body is beautiful.
Alexandra Peragine the problem is that thick girls don't get shit about being thick and if they do Th ey will get so much supper from others bur when someone says that I should eat more they think I take it as a compliment?
Aya Abouzarbia thick girls get support because for so many years it was frowned upon, and im not talking about "slim thick" where u have a supper tiny waist and a big butt im talking about a girl with a little bit a of extra fat on her body and still being confident with that. But i have no clue where you got the idea that tick girls dont get hate and skinny girls do. Times are changing, just learn to be happy with your body.
Some people in this are just obese it's not a good thing to be obese and neither is being anorexic but just because someones skinny doesn't mean they are anorexic honestly these videos make everywhere feel bad no matter your size instead of pinning these videos on one body type why don't you make videos about why all body types are beautiful and no matter what your beautiful so well done you've made loads of people feel crap
BasicallyJust Leah.. When were they body shaming? When were they saying "skinny people are ugly"? This video is to encourage overweight people to feel comfortable in their own bodies.
I'm naturally skinny, and I've never liked it. I've always felt insecure about my body and this video really doesn't make me feel any better.. I'm not trying to be rude but like, I can't control my body type. :/
Isabelle Pone yes you can. Almost everyone on the world can. Being anorexic is bad so is looking like a shaved walrus. Being slightly skinny or slightly chubby is not bad at all
I used to be stick thin and people would bug me about it so i was self conscious now I put on some weight I am constantly being called fat and such so like I understand but to be honest alot of people are judgemental assholes who will try to bring you down no matter what you do and I still hate my body I regret putting on the weight by eating so badly so I wish i kept being my stick thin self and told those people to suck an egg because like its ridiculous
Though I don't think size defines beauty I have to admit I was sorely disappointed it seems when I come across topics such as body positive they're always receding to plus size women. I'm 18 and have recently taken up weight lifting my goal isn't to "Lose weight" but to lower my body fat percentage and build muscle mass because "Why look like Barbie when you can look like wonder woman." and on my journey I've come across comments such as "Girls shouldn't lift weights." "You don't want to get bulky" or "Guys won't find you attractive" it would be nice to see 'bulky' women being praised I mean it would be so cool to be strong but everyone else is telling me other wise it would be nice to see 'Masculine' woman being shown as 'beautiful' because I think every woman should aspire to be a warrior wether that's physically or mentally lifting weights feels so empowering because though progress is slow you can feel your body changing you can feel yourself becoming stronger and it's addictive! But it would be nice to see it represented that being 'bulky' is okay
This video has helped me a lot. I have been trying to work out to get rid of body fat, and am trying to eat healthier. None of it had worked, and I was very ashamed of my body. This video has shown me that all anyone can do is work out and eat healthy, and not worry any more about your weight or size. For anyone else out there who is struggling to accept themselves, you are amazing and perfect the way you are.❤️❤️❤️
diet propely and you will see results, eating healthy doesn't mean you are eating right. i for example even weight my food, count macros and calories every day and rarley eat sweets(once in a 6 months or so). if you want it hard enough, you will get it.
fragy Fraginston I am still growing, so things like calories do not matter to me. I am not going on a diet, because I do not feel like that is the point. I don’t need to lose weight, and dieting isn’t usually a healthy option.
I have to admit. I'm a little chubby from my thighs. Well, I do have a big butt and curves. Oh Talko, skinny isn't bad. It's better than being obese or fat. I'm working on my thighs right now. I always wanted to be skinny.
Draco Malfoy is back yeah same here. I'm going through the same thing, I just wanna be able to squeeze into my old pants tbh and be a good, healthier weight and for me personally, not on the verge of being overweight.
Your body sounds beautiful I wish I had curves because it seem a lot of guys like girls with curves all body types are beautiful I guessed we always want what we don't have
That's not exactly what is being said. Of course, all body types are beautiful, but bigger sizes have been getting hate. I've definitely experienced hate just because of my body type, even though it's just below plus. In the video, they were saying that being even the slightest plus isn't too bad. Skinny can be pretty though.
thedoctorsaysrun Allonsy Yes this was skinny shaming to me am I supposed to be happy about the fact that after watching this I felt like the way I am isn't good enough. like I should be a bit fatter because that is exactly how I felt
Kitty Calix Have u even read the name of this video cos if u haven't realised it does say "skinny isn't better" I'm not being dramatic I'm being truthful
This is just skinny shaming. People say I’m too skinny, but I’m not interested in gaining weight, plus I have a high metabolism. Because being size 0 is perfectly fine!
My cousin got a girlfriend and his parents wouldn't accept her because she was over weight 😭 it made me so disappointed in them they didn't even get the chance to even know her
