To Calculate arrival time
Take the 11 and double it(since eta is calculated at 50 mph). So that equals 22. If the second 2 numbers are 50+ then I will add another hour. If under 50 then I don’t add any more time.
Divide 22 by 11(Total driving hours in one day)=2(10 hour breaks). So add 20 to 22. Now at 42 hours. At this point you would either add hours or subtract hours if you are driving east/west or west/east for time zone changes. All deliveries are in the local time of the delivery address. Since this is strictly an east coast drive, no additional hour math is needed.
Examine route and see if the route takes you through any major BIG cities. I add an hour for big cities as there is traffic depending on what time you drive through it. In this example I will pass through 6 big cities. I’m adding 3 additional hours as one of the cities is Washington DC. The math is now 45 hours. Assuming you leave at 0800 on that Friday your delivery will be at approx. 0500 Sunday morning. This is what you will submit to dispatch. They will then schedule an appointment.
Some time can be gained by running your clock so you are rolling in the early morning hours especially rolling through those cities. Just be smart and organize yourself accordingly!
