The Death Rattle of the man watching his homeland crumbling to dust and crying is probably Szeth. He's the character who constantly hears weeping and whose features are described as childlike. We also know there's an Unmade in Shinovar and one of the unaccounted for ones is the Dustmother. Then there's the fact the Shin revere stone so watching their holy stones crumble to dust would be extra tragic.
@@Mwezi828 yeah, I can easily see Szteh as well! But Taravangian also fits in my opinion with his child ruling Kharbranth and him doing whatever it took to save his land 🫠
I'm on my first reread of twok and I have noticed all the details and foreshadowing Sanderson put in the book. It actually blew my mind how many things are hidden in plain sight.
I was counting how many I had missed... it's all of them ☠ The foreshadowing in the death rattles is blowing my mind! Can you imagine how many things he must have plotted to the most minuscule detail even before starting the series?
I am so scared haha! I feel like I know almost from memory the Death Rattles now, and it is so incredibly hard to not see things going down bad for us in book 5 :') ! Thank you for letting me know your thoughts!!
In the released chapters, Kaladin seems to be in a pretty stable state of mind even with respect to Moash, so I think maybe that death rattle about the blood of brother could be for Szeth ?
The death rattle about standing over the body of a brother, couldn't it be refering to Teft's death? And the "What have we done" part about the creation of the anti-stormlight weapons?? 🤔
@@FunFantasyBooks Yes, it is very well put together and informative. Normally I listen to your content at work, but I watched this one. All the research and effects you added in during the edit probably took a while. Nicely done.
Didn’t catch most of this on my first or second read. But being almost finished my fourth read (third for RoW) I’ve been looking for things like this. The epigraphs still have me lost most of the time, but story foreshadowing, for example, the nature of shardblades and shard plate are foreshadowed very early in book one. And he doesn’t explain them until the end of books two and 4 respectively.
I have read all 4 books very recently and currently re-reading the 4th...and most of what is talked about here is like listening to stuff I have never read. Pretty amazing the depth of the story when I fully enjoyed it and apparently missed all of what's in this video. 😂
@@edwinsuijkerbuijk5106 ummmmm I think the last one is the one that has a heavy spoiler for something in RoW! I believe the rest should be save! But to be on the safest side better come back once you finish everything haha
Ehhhm I believe your spoiler warning doesn't include enough books... I have not read about Adonalsium and Yolen, you infodumped quite a lot of info all of a sudden :( I'm quitting the video but I'm sad because it could have been interesting had I not been spoiled about the lore. My next book is elantris and I have read Mistborn era one (in case people read my comment so they don't get spoiled)
@@Kwizii hey! Sorry to hear that! We don’t really learn about adonalsium or yolen properly in any book- it is not part of any book released yet (it will be in the future once Sanderson is ready to tell Hoid’s story!). What I shared is what is collected as secondary backgrounds of the cosmere story & what has been explained by Sanderson!
@@FunFantasyBooks Ah ok I'm a bit relieved, and I apologize! It was info that I didn't know so I assumed it was part of a book! I'll still read a bit more cosmere and find connexions on my own before I come back though, I saved the video in my watch later playlist :)
@@Kwizii Adonalsium is definitely referenced as far back as Way of Kings in the text itself by Wit I believe. It's just hard to notice the small details and lore bits on a first read. Now, Yolen I'm not sure on if it's ever mentioned in Stormlight.
@@FatalxBlade Indeed but I did not know what it really referenced to. I was assuming it had to do something with Thaidakar or well really I didn't know honestly (because I did go back to re-read certain scenes). Anyways I'm gonna stay away from media on the subject, it's just I have no one that I know IRL who read the books so I wanted to get other's opinions about it :)
Sorry, but despite how really interesting this video is, I must say that I hate RU-vid with videos with names along the lines of "X things you don't know" about this or that. It assumes that the video creator knows more about something than their audience, which seems pretty arrogant to me.
@@tithannisk7470 oh sorry you took it that way! I honestly didn’t know most of this before the reread and the long hours researching - I honestly just want to add something to the SL community that I believe is not well known!
I think the title was fine, if anything would make it better would be x things you may have missed. But what you put didn't seem arrogant to me, especially since most youtube video title are hyperbolic anyways.
